Why does the failure of others make Sup Forums so happy?
Why does the failure of others make Sup Forums so happy?
Evolve employed bad business practices such as an awful amount of day-1 DLC while Battleborn and Lawbreakers had cunts as lead developers.
>gravity defying combat
more like gravity defying flop lmao when you fuck up harder than battleborn
schadenfreude
Who was in the wrong here?
>Why does the failure of others make Sup Forums so happy?
Because the developers in all of these instances were complete assholes
It makes me extremely happy when i see generic AAA shit fail. These games brought nothing to the table, hopefully more publishers see this and revert back to more creative titles.
evolve makes me a bit sad because it truly was an enjoyable game, but even then, for all things listed, see
Because I like to see the world burn.
Fuck successful people desu
I'd assume multiplayer fags are afraid of competition to their game of choice because a multiplayer game dies out sooner or later.
I like it when shit people like Randy Pitchford fail.
>generic AAA shit
nigga fuck you, Evolve did not feel generic.
For me, there is great comfort in seeing developers who embrace self-destructive counter-ideologies fail and suffer crises of faith in their social dogma
These days for a big new IP you need to spend millions on advertising I think. I remember gears of war ads playing for about 6 months straight before gears 1 released, remember how annoying that Gary Jules song was? and then there was that admitedly amazing E3 reveal of gears 1. It was also advertised as the next big Halo of franchises, and plastered everywhere in every gaming magazine. Lawbreakers has had shit for advertising. I've seen afew youtube videos and that's it.
Evolve was a single game mode sold as a complete game with a mountain of micro transactions.
Battleborn was just raping the fps genre further, having cheap glitzy powers in place of player skill, the game is designed to cater to the current button awesome video games demographic.
Law Breakers was made by Cucky B, but was also the son of it's creators hubris, yet another me too game in an already over saturated market.
Ultimately none of these titles are landmarks in the FPS genre, I just don't have enough time to stew in mediocrity.
Everyone wants another TORtanic but it'll never happen and the rest are just bandwagoners from that cuck with the YouTube videos.
Why wouldn't i find joy in games that should be successful not being successful?
Because Gears had a much bigger budget and was published by microsoft. Cliff isn't even with epic games anymore so the money is nowhere near Gears of war levels
Add Gigantic to that list, it's not dead yet, but game is definitely slowly dying. And I feel ]bad[/spoiler about that.
Play more games.
TOR actually ended up being successful in the long run though.
Alright, I'll bite.
How was Evolve generic?
Winner winner chicken dinner. Same reason why it was so satisfying seeing No Man's Sky flop, aside from the fact that anyone with sense called it being exactly what it ended up being a year in advance.
because randy and cliffyb are assholes
nobody cares that evolve failed
Because the devs always feel so entitled to sales. Feels kinda good to see them get knocked down a peg
>muh billion dollar game
>come at me bro meme from randy
Looser. Sad!
I like it when people use practices that any decent artist wouldn't do because it shows such raw indifference towards the consumer and they get immediately shot down as the asshats they are for thinking for a second you can act superior to the people you rely on for your livelihood.
>not generic
>coop
>multiplayer
>survival
>shooter
The only gimmick is that the monster is a PC which brings nothing to the tablet except make the starting game a boring hide'n'seek game.
Because the people behind them are cunts. This is also a valid reason for being happy about the declining sales of Marvel Comics.
Evolve had made bad choices for their game.
They hyped it up like fuck, and then fucked it up.
Battleborn was a bad game in general. Alot of advertisement for a turd, doesn't make a turd more tolerable.
LawBreakers.. I don't know what's the problem there. I really REALLY like the game, seeing it die is a bummer.
Overwatch always left a hole in me, because while fundamentally very stable, it's also very shallow. Lawbreakers kinda filled the hole in that regard.
I genuinly like the game and have a 100 hours playtime, but stopped because of a low playerbase.
believe me when i say nexon will eventually kill his game cause it will really happen sooner or later
People dont like battleborn because its harder than the average shooter.
Evolve sounded like a really fun game desu and I actually enjoyed Battleborn. Makes me sad that they died out
Because those games all represent most of whats wrong with gaming today. Its not like Sup Forums enjoys watching good games fail.
Not enough waifu.
Waifu give you a solid base Players for starter.
human nature
Pathetic people take enjoyment in the failiure and suffering of others to make themselves feel better about their own miserable lives.
Oh, so you're just lumping Evolve into any broad, overarching category that the game could possibly fit in to; and not actually going to go into detail about certain aspects of the things you listed, and how Evolve did those things in a generic way. Got it.
Also
>>survival
>Anything other than ecchi/porn games is bad
Misery loves company.
Evolve had many problems solely based on design sadly, and is not replayable in the slightest
Generic multiplayer only FPS games with lootboxes and microtransactions are bad.
Any game sounds generic when you break it down to such fundamental levels you fucking autist.
"Every game ever is generic.
>press buttons
>things happen
Ugh. Why can't something original come out?"
>Why does the failure of others make Sup Forums so happy?
Depends who fails really. Everyone was at least a bit sad that it didn't work out for titanfall and evolve because they were something new, but lawlbreakers and stillborn? Fat chance, glad that sjwshit failed.
>Any game sounds generic when you break it down to such fundamental levels you fucking autist.
No game is generic if you examine every detail and mechanic either.
Evolve - greedy
Battleborn - ugly characters+seizure visuals, moba shit, modern gearbox in general
Lawbreakers - ugly characters, tried to appeal to sjw crowd
Evolve had Day 1 DLC that added up to twice the price of the game.
Battleborn wanted to use a F2P unlock model in a full priced AAA game, and was as visually appealing as vomit.
And Cliffy B was just a cunt, and made his characters ugly for "muh realism".
It's fun seeing devs get fucked for pouring out shit cashgrabs and insulting their customers.
I'm a failure myself
Fuck off, lawbreakers failed because it pandered to Sup Forumsirgins
You forgot MvCi and Mass Effect Andromeda. Its sad that all these games flopped but its not the failure of others that makes us happy its the failure of the god awful PR people that say YOU WILL BUY THIS GAME! That is something all these games had in common.
When you have PR that is so retarded like that when no one actually plays these games you cant help but fucking laugh.
Maybe these companies shouldn't think they have a fucking birthright to our hard earned cash.
But calling something generic and then using broad paint strokes to say why it's generic instead of saying how the paint strokes themselves makes it generic doesn't help your argument.
You can say Call of Duty, Battlefield, and Halo are generic because they're shooters; but it's better to say they're generic because they're all First-Person-Shooters utilizing a loadout system with 2 guns and some sort of equipment, they all have sprint, the maps are industrialized or city settings, the game modes are usually Deathmatch/Control Points/Capture the Flag/etc., and you're dealing with humans in armor shooting other humans in armor.
There's an art to criticizing something.
You are a retard of impressive proportions
Because failures enjoy watching others fail
because the sadness inside me lessens just a bit when i watch others fail
I didn't follow Lawbreakers, so I'm not sure what happened there, but I can explain Evolve and Battleborn. Both were kind of assholes.
Evolve had a nice concept, but it had very limited content, being multiplayer-only, and was priced at like 80$. It also had DLCs and according to people it didn't have much in terms of replayability. In other words, it got old fast, and it was expensive. Meaning they were greedy.
Battleborn was a true ass. Their marketing scheme was to try and compete with Overwatch. They outright trashtalked Overwatch over Twitter and put themselves in a position that said "you need to get either Overwatch or Battleborn". Overwatch had better marketing and it was backed by Blizzard's fanbase, so Overwatch took it with a stride. What it meant for Battleborn is that while it's not similar to Overwatch in terms of gameplay or style, they shot themselves in the knee and made people skip their game. If they didn't compare Battleborn to Overwatch, people could've bought both games. Other than that, the game looks like a mess. Everything is marketed as "badass", and there's the mocking image of a spoof FPS's HUD next to Battleborn's HUD, both being cluttered. They were being asses, and their failure was just.
>Winslow.jpg
You bet your ass I'm happy about their failures. When the smug fucks behind the games sit in front of the camera with a shit-eating grin and lie through their teeth about how their derivative cash-grab games are original and made with passion failure is one of the better things I wish for them.
I don't know anything about Evolve, but as far as the other two go, Randy and Cliffy needed to be taken down a peg or two.
I would also add ME Andromeda to that list too, for Mr. "White Tears" Poo in Loo, among the other insufferable cunts at Bioware.
game industry crash when?
You are buying Anthem, right user?
Add Absolver to that list. I've loved watching that shit die.
this, we already have enough videogames to survive Armageddon, let the industry crash so that companies get their shit together again
why him head big?
>Predict Absolver will die by the end of the month in /asg/
>Spergs go ballistic
>It's a fighting game user these are good numbers for a fighting game
>If the player numbers stay steady this is a good population size
>Yeah user it's 1 v 1 we don't need a huge population the population is evening out
>Check numbers today
>237 concurrent players
>People already whining in steam about how long it takes to get a bitch
>Go to vg to gloat
>/asg/ itself is already dead.
FEELS FUCKING SMUG MAN
Evolve was boring because it was based on a single mode that had little to no variation. Battleborn could not set itself apart from Overwatch, had horrible UI and poor art direction. Lawbreakers has terrible maps, gimimck that it fails to capitalize on, and cookie cutter game modes that emphasize (in two cases) sitting on your ass in a game about fast movement. It's guns also lack any real punch, feeling as anemic as Overwatch while trying to pull off realistic style.
They were all very mediocre games that tried to prop themselves up as some new groundbreaking releases and none of them could hold the playerbase it had, let alone attract a new one.
For all the bad nexon does, I do respect they gave the team the time to make gits 2.0 when it was obvious they wanted to kill it earlier
>Buy overwatch or battleborn *smirk*
>Everyone buys overwatch
>Battleborn goes free to play but still no one downloads it
Holy shit lol
>big companies and publishers like ea crash and burn
>people suffer for abit
>new funding goes into indie companies and new companies creating a golden age for 20 years
wait, this shit is out already ? haven't heard about it for the past year and a half
Battleborn deserved it for not learning from SMNC.
The could've just made a different take on FPS diablo like they did with Borderlands but more emphasis on character gameplay.
But noooo it's gotta be a fps moba.
It came out at the end of last month and suffered from tremendous for honor tier network issues. It has been in rapid descent ever since
the failure of shitty people makes Sup Forums happy
That's what they get for catering to a community too shit to play real fighting games.
This.
People with shitty lives revel in the failure of others because it makes them temporarily forget how shitty their lives are.
Evolve did good compared to Battleborn and Lawbreakers. It failed because they kept too much content as DLC, plus the price was too high for the original game and the separate DLCs.
>made battleborn instead of borderlands 3
anger does not cease
>be advised, feminism is awesome!
Hmm I wonder why Battleborn flopped
I played Evolve 2 when it became f2p, put ~30 hours in it. I wanted it to succeed but it sucks so hard
>Terrible balance
>Hunters too stronk at high lvls
>Monsters too stronk at low lvls
>Hackers
>Half the hunters were either OP or trash
>Single player content was trash
>Balancing catering to the competitive 1%
>New releases were base on older characters
The failure of cunts pleases me, the success of cool people pleases me.
Wait until you see what shit Borderlands 3 is
>make games that demanda minimum require of brain activity to enjoy
>surprised when you find out most of the potential playerbase are brainlets
>Wait until you see what shit Borderlands 3 is
can't wait
That last part feels straight out of Boredlands
>Why does the failure of others make Sup Forums so happy?
Because half this board doesn't give a shit about actual games discussion and is just here for le epic TORtanic blunder culture as a form of 'happenings'
(You) can choose one of the games in the OP to kick PUBG from its throne. Which one is it?
why do you think it would be shit?
Evolve because it's based on an original idea
This. It's fun seeing shitty games fail.
Evolve, not even a contest.
>Evolve
A good idea that gets old fast and shitty DLC system killed this
>Battleborn
A blizdrone hate campaign killed this and negative association with mobas
>lawbreakers
people had given up on new shooters at this point unless it's AAA like overwatch.
Battleborn and lawbreakers would have been successful had overwatch not been made.
>A blizdrone hate campaign killed this
heheHE
>A blizdrone hate campaign killed this and negative association with mobas
No, it was legitimately just not very good
turtle rock were decent devs, its just that 2K fucked them over
2K gotta have microtransactions in everything
i dont play a game for dialogue tho so i dont care
FPBP
It's hilarious how Sup Forums continues to believe those "evil sjw" things are why the games fail. Not bad design, not sub-par gameplay, not poor balancing, but gender-neutral toilets are at fault. Holy shit, talk about being detached from reality.
Because they were unimpressive and unappealing. Seeing them fail validates our expectations.
Kinda sad for Evolve
got into the game when it became F2P and it was actually tons of fun
Then they stopped updating it so I decided to quit
...
