The English dub was one of the better parts of the first, the graphics however are complete dogshite and it could benefit from a remake and it’s not even that old

Will probably get it when Metroid Prime 4 comes out.

Probably a good move, the game is at least a 2019 holiday season title, you will have the next 2 years worth of titles to play at that point, and by 2019 3ds support from Nintendo's development studios should be nil.

I wouldn't exactly compare it for Final Fantasy, as the Xenoblade games are explicitly taking place in the same universe, but as far as direct narrative/story it doesn't seem at all necessary to play Xenoblade 1 to understand XBC2.
At least in the case of Xenoblade X, having played the first game just enhanced the deeper experience of trying understand the nature of the setting and piece together more obscure points of the lore, but the main story was ENTIRELY divergent from the original game. XBC2 looks to be in a similar situation.

Planning to take a week off work for Xenoblade 2. Have December 1-7 off. Going to do a mix of drinking and playing
For Mario I'll just play on my normal off days and when I get off work. No one cares about spoilers for Mario.

It'll all fit together relatively nicely in like 8 or 9 games.
Takahashi's big swan song as he leaves the industry in 20-30 years will be having the whole story neatly pieced together.
