Since you kids probably were not around in 1999 or too poor and stupid to even play vidya, this game was highly praised back in the day.

Did it age bad? Yes

Was the sequel better? Of course, that's how sequels are supposed to be.

Sonic controls better in Adventure than any other 3D game.

For a casual playthrough it's fun enough and should get a couple laughs out of you the first time, I can't imagine voluntarily going for 100% though.

except in Mario 64 you had much better control over the camera and it wasn't nearly as fucked up as SA1&2s.

I popped in the game last night because of the Chao garden, the only reason anyone should ever touch this and even then its a horrible grind fest, and i was reminded how awful the camera angle was on the first stage in the hero story mode. All they had to do was position a little more over sonic so you could actually see whats directly in front of him. They at least had the sense to adjust the camera angle and pan it out the faster you're going.
