I've played all of them apart from 5 and 6 for some reason. I didn't have a SNES (before today when my mini came), and I played FF4 on my DS.

5 is the best. 6 really weakens the combat in favor of story and characters. 5's combat hasnt been topped since X-2. I very highly recommend playing it
