A good, original game with an amazing art style
>Ded
Why?
A genre already oversaturated and dominated by games that pander to an audience that doesn't want good games with amazing artstyles.
looks and plays like total dog shit
>A few skills and a CD system
>Slow updates
>Chaotic combat
>large confusing maps
It's not a bad game but it needs some love and maybe a more traditional mode with lanes and creeps.
6GB minimum requirements
Most of the people who play this genre are BRs, pinoys and ruskies, who wont meet it
>It's not a bad game but it needs some love and maybe a more traditional mode with lanes and creeps.
But the lack of everything traditional is what made Gigantic good.
It got everything right that made me put down every other modern online multiplayer game, especially of the MOBA and hero shooter variety.
>amazing art style
your pic looks like any other mobile game. completely bland, uninspired and shit
The free market is darwanism in action.
The game didn't have what it takes to make it in a genre where there are already better alternatives. If you want to compete in a congested market, you better be good.
It's responsible for the best new character design I've seen in ages. Get some better tastes faggot.
I'd disagree about better alternatives.
The reason people are unwilling to put down other games in the genre is because of the sunk cost fallacy, people have already spent money and time on other games, and they feel like switching to another game invalidates all the time and money they've spent on what they're currently playing.
So even if they don't enjoy the games they're currently playing, they'll still play them simply due to the fact they think they're throwing something away by NOT playing them.
I don't think they should get rid of the main mode but they should add others using the game assets they got. Also they should improve the AI for training new players.
Because after a certain point EARLY point with genre's like MMOs, ASSFAGGOTS, and Hero shooters games stop succeeding based on merit.
The aspect of time investment that people have spent in their Wow's Overwatch's Dota's and League's becomes too much to overcome, we've seen better alternatives die in every single one of these genre's a hundred times by now because the playerbase isn't willing to make the jump and lose their mounts, skins, characters, etc.
>Better
>DotA
>LoL
>Smite
>Overwatch
>Paladins
user do you need medical attention? Because I'm pretty sure speaking out your ass isn't normal or healthy.
The games community is honestly far too small for multiple game modes, that'd just slaughter whats left at this point.
>He thinks Blizzard managed to stay at the top of the genre with Overwatch and WoW based on merit
Multiple Issues
>Came too late, overshadowed by other games in the same genre
>Many still think its a Win10 exclusive
>Great unique artstyle that doesnt attract tasteless normies/weebs
>Harder/more complex than other games in the genre
>Slow updates and no hotfixes for bugs (Margrave's charge gets stuck since the new hero update)
>The pubstomper(tripp) remained OP for too long, lots of players left before the nerfs.
I want to buy the ultimate pack but it doesnt look good atm.
Then they should at the least add in a ranked mode and shrink the current maps by splitting them into two smaller maps. That way they'll get quicker matches and can get people playing for ranks.
Yeah buying the pack now is probably a bit much. The games up to five minute queues or so
It is a shame. I really like this game too. Wanna know what the problem is? What the real fucking problem is? The shit people try to deny on the daily, but give in to every time?
Not.
Enough.
Waifu.
I'm dead serious. Stupid shit like Korean grindfest MMO's and all that mobilr gacha bullshit should tell you that cute girls ARE and will CONTINUE TO BE a major selling point. Sadly, Gigantic has Beckett (dyke) Tripp (dyke) Amani (dyke) Griselma (grandma) Octo-chick (no lower half) Zandora (literally a charicature of a V-shaped man with tits) Tyto (xhe) and my personal favorite Vadasi (furry)
Meanwhile other terrible non-games sell on tits and ass alone. I'm not saying it's good, but it's true.
>and shrink the current maps by splitting them into two smaller maps
>lets make the game worse to see if it will bring in more people!
Absolutely not. Let the game die with dignity at least, not ruining itself while it desperately paws for relevancy.
Kill yourself weeb
>Vadasi (Furry)
>Shiva are fucking furries
What are you talking about?
I mean you're probably right that the game being utterly devoid of sex appeal hurt it when it's competitors would have been Paladins and Overwatch which is pretty much just jackoff material disguised as a video game. But Vadasi is fundamentally not a furry character.
It took a lot of of the elements in games that aren't casual friendly and built a great experience out of them. That's why it's dead.
It has a lot of potential, but it's also hard to get into if you're a casual, and casuals buy games now. Compare it to popular normie choices:
>Overwatch
Potential for planning and thought, and knowing maps well will assist you, with mechanical skill being a factor that's present but not required. It's easy to play QPs forever and enjoy them without ever caring about having a plan.
>League
Maybe harder to get into because of build paths, but because you can look them up and because of recommended paths it's accessible. Creeps on the map tell my stupid ass where to run and how to find trouble, so again I can jump in a have fun without caring. Also items and skills are separated, so I can max whatever spells I want and it won't really matter, and my build is independent from that.
>Gigantic
Multiple styles of play that all come with built-in build paths that aren't actually that good at being expressive. For a new player, the difference between one ability path and another is the same as item path in League, which means I have to learn something before it's fun, but the impact is low enough that getting a feel for paths takes a while. In league I can die, or regroup, and buy my items and upgrade abilities and shit under low pressure, but Gigantic asks you to make critical decisions under pressure because the pace is faster. I also have to learn about all the little critters I can use, how they affect the map, and where it is wise to use certain choices over others.
Another way to put it is that Gigantic tried to make itself into a healthy blend of mechanical skill and dynamic tactis, and more or less succeeded, but casuals don't want to learn how to play new games they want to pick up the game and play it for fun. Gigantic's system requires you to think about what you're doing or risk not having fun.
>Weeb
Mercy is a western character and she's probably been responsible for more spilled seed than any Japanese characters in recent memory
>saying a game needs cute girls to survive makes me a weeb
I guess I triggered the chinese picture board poster by using the word 'waifu'. Whatever. You missed the point gaylord. Sex sells. Diversity isn't all that important, and the SJW of the world would do well to remember that.
PS, DOTA has a literal money-making item market. Some stuff is listed for ~ $1,900.
Sorry bro, I'm mostly making sweeping generalizations to make my point. Also, i bought the angel of mercy skin asap. It reminds me of my cat.
The real reason this game will flop is because it runs/ran like shit.
The biggest market segment of F2P games are thirdworld shitters with awful computers. They form the necessary base that attracts other people to play, too.
Coincidentally, this is the reason Paladins is thriving right now. It runs on anything.
>overshadowed by other games in the same genre
What else is there? The closest i can think of is Smite.
I've posted my rant on this game a dozen times, but in short, aside from many of the excellent points made in this thread already, there are major flaws with the map design, combat gameplay mechanics, and balancing. There are good gameplay design and style/art choices too, but between these difficult-to-address issues and the terrible release-hype and community-management/building leading up to launch, the game's developers have unfortunately killed it themselves. Which is a shame, as they did really try to build something somewhat different and interesting.
Gigantic doesn't play like SMITE at all, it's more similar to Paladins/Overwatch.
It's great, but after years of playing mobas I've just been over them. I just don't have it in me to play them anymore.
I keep up to date on Gigantic tho and if it maintains a healthy update roadmap I'll most likely come back to it. Microsoft gave me like $40 bucks for Christmas last year for being a loyal Xbox player so I spent it on the Gigantic Founders Pack to support Motiga. It's pretty good and I'd recommend it.
I think he's talking games with arenas that feature combat with unique characters. Moba is a very broad term. Multiplayer online battle arena. Obviously we think dota and league of lesbians, but all of it gets lumped together by people that don't care.
>make another dota clone
>this time you copy smite
>make it w10 exclusive
>everyone stops caring
Also, first three new characters added
>a guy
>a genie ghost?
>an armadillo
I would be curious to know how much money Blizz made when they released the ability to get Widowmaker in a bikini by buying loot crates.
Personally, I just played it a ton and got burnt out. New guys coming out once a month is cool, but in between that I'm not really playing it as much. Even less if they aren't that interesting or fun.
