It could combine SA1, SA2, and Heroes levels into one cohesive experience, using the controls and game engine of SA2 (which allowed for full, smooth movement unlike boostshit), and ironing out the junk like treasure hunting, shooting, fishing, etc. and improving some of the level design.
Hunter Fisher
No because those games weren't classics, they were overhyped mediocre games.
John Brooks
No The guy spent years working solely on recreating the classics feel and controls, he's not about to suddenly shit out a perfect engine for the Adventure style just because he got some fame
Easton Harris
why would i want to play a game with controls that spaz out whenever you aren't going through auto loops and shitty level design
why do people even pretend these fucking games are anything other than a poor attempt to shoehorn a game that worked well in 2d into a 3rd dimension where they don't work at all unless you are going perfectly straight
Luke Sanchez
Wrong, is SM64 is a classic, so should SA2 be.
SOmething being a "classic" is a meme anyways, it's basically just saying "it's good just because" even if newer titltes are objective improvements over them.
Kevin Butler
Git Gud. The controls are slippery at first but they are fine when you get used to them and allow for precision control with mastery.
Certainly a lot better then SM64 where mario is super sluggish, has way too much traction, and skids all over the place.
Daniel Bell
That's not how it works, Mario 64 was a quite damn good game, while Sonic Adventure 1, 2, and further entries only served to show Sonic (speed + platforming) doesn't fucking work in 3D, and needs crutches like the homing attack and high amounts of automation.
Ryan Scott
This man speaks the truth
Michael Howard
This man lies
Jacob Morris
Git Gud? Sonic is literally incapable of making precision turns, and the levels do not even HAVE any precision turns because of this, being entirely HUGE curves or straight lines. "gitting gud" at sonic adventure involves working around the fact that sonic's handling is dogshit, and that's something even sonic team realized with how they constructed their levels.
Jonathan Miller
Wrong, SA1 has better controls than boostshit
James Hall
i'm not really sure if you understand that it isn't a matter of opinion, boost sonic is factually more controllable at high speeds because he only ever needs to go straight and can strafe left and right while running.
You literally can't strafe at all in the adventure games. Sonic doesn't have that level of precision.
Cooper Baker
>Will Taxman ever do a "Sonic Adventure Mania"?
Hopefully not. Even the Sonic gameplay isn't anything special or particularly good. SA1's Sonic gameplay is a dumbed down version of Genesis gameplay that has to put boost pads before every loop because the movement and camera system isn't robust enough to handle any fancy geometry at all. Most of the level design is rigidly linear and very rarely makes any meaningful use of 3D space. SA2's "level design" is almost entirely boost-pad riddled corridors floating over a death pit that copypaste chunks of level and entire setpieces for padding. Heroes is the same way and desperately tries to hide collectibles for collectathon missions in these rectangular corridors for one of the game modes.. Then once you factor in that the other characters play far worse worse, and there will be people who will be mad if two thirds of an Adventure isn't indistinct filler, nobody has any reason to revisit this "formula".
Austin Cruz
But the point of an Adventure mania would be to fix those issues you mention
Elijah Reed
>fix the physics >fix the level design >fix the structure of the game
It would just be an all new Sonic game that wouldn't play anything like Adventure then.
Noah Taylor
I love the Adventure games (SA1 is better than 2 btw) but they don't come close to Mario 64.
Asher Garcia
Level designs are fine, especially in 1.
Xavier Adams
What makes you think Taxman would have any skill to program anything in 3D?
Brandon Turner
Has anybody asked him?
Luis Allen
this chart is fucking retarded. Mario controls great, Sonic controls like shit. Mario still looks great for an N64 game, SA2 looks hideous for a Dreamcast game. Mario has basically no story, SA2 has a retarded story with lengthy cutscenes dragging it down. The mental gymnastics butthurt autists make to excuse their shit game is hilarious.
John Jenkins
On what earth? The Sonic levels in the adventure games have two settings: perfectly straight lines (Windy Valley, Speed Highway, Green Forest, Final Rush, Metal Harbor) and janky clusterfuck (Crazy Gadget, Sky Deck, Red Mountain, Pyramid Cave, Final Egg)
Jace Hernandez
>Fix everything and it'll be good You fucking idiot, the whole reason why there will never be an adventure mania is because nobody knows how to fix them. The whole reason mania worked was because they had a clear vision on what the game would be
Nicholas Reyes
There has never been a single good 3D sonic game. getting taxman to re-make bad games is not a good use of resources.
Jack Reed
>Mario controls great, Sonic controls like shit. wrong, see Sm64 has the exact opposite problem of the SA games: Mario has too much traction rather then not enough. His turn radius is fucking absurd, trying to change directions in 180 degrees results in wonky momentum changes and skidding, and his momentum in general just feels off and overly heavy. At least SA's movement becomes an asset or at least not as much of an issue with mastery, wheras SM64's issues never improve in that regard.
Also, the story in SA2 is good chesy fun.
Except Sonic works better in 3d since you can actually see shit ahead of you. The 2d sonic games are decent at best.
>Linearty is bad meme the level layout is linear but you have freeform control of movement.
Jackson Reed
>Actually arguing that 3D sonic is better than 2D
Charles Ward
>Sonic works better in 3D >2D Sonic games are decent at best What levels of delusion and denial are you on? If the 2D ones are just decent, that would make the 3D ones sub shit.
>Sonic story being anything but absolute trash lol
Connor Anderson
Despite their motto saying they are adept at 3D and sprites I don't think that's really their forte.
Plus voice acting yada yada.
Nolan White
None of the open levels are janky. Speed Highway has multiple routes, and even the ones that don't are still well designed and enjoyable.
Daniel Harris
>Can you pilot a helicopter? It's gotta be like piloting an airplane!
Matthew Scott
Stop this fucking maymay. Might as well go full force and say Sonic has never been good.
Jacob Taylor
Sorry 3D shitter but sonic was only ever good in 2D. the formula just doesnt work in 3D
Matthew Evans
>Except Sonic works better in 3d
Nicholas Butler
>Just meme my shit up, senpai.
Brody Cruz
You would have throw out or overhaul far more than you'd keep. At that point you may as well start fresh rather than cling to a flawed blueprint.
William Brown
Lost World has potential to be a good 3D system for Sonic. What happened?
