PS4 came out late 2013, Bloodborne only came out in March 2015

The Wii U is not perfect, but let's be honest, from 2012-mid 2016 the Wii U was an undisputed home console of the year.

The PS4 had terrible spell of drought, 1 (one) good game in 2015, then another long spell of drought and it only got good just this year. PC/WiiU duo was the absolute rational choice from 2013-2015 arguably well into 2016.

That's like winning the special olympics. Consoles are awful and were especially awful back then.

WiiU was never a good system, and was never the best choice of systems. Just let it go.

2012-2013 was dire for sure, but at least there's Bayo 2, W101 in 2014 for the Wii U as legitimate standouts, and there's always the line up of Nintendo games like SMBU, Mario Kart, 3D Mario, Pikmin etc etc that's always solid and you can't get anywhere else

W101 wasn't a standout platinum game, it was just praised because of how desperate Nintendo was for a decent game at that point.

As far as Bayo, can't argue, but not worth buying a system for one game.

All the mario/pikmin stuff just doesn't appeal to everyone. The new mario games hold no appeal the last good one was TYD

In 2015 Dynasty Warriors games were better than whatever was released on Wii U.

Bayonetta 2 and Xenoblade Chronicles are the only 2 games on the WiiU worth paying money for.

What does PS4 has other than Bloodborne for that stretch?

so?

Tied Vanquish and got crushed by MGS:R in reviews and sales. Pretty standard fare for Platinum, nothing special.

8th gen is horrible. i bought a wii u and i have about 20 games for it. it's still the only 8th console worth owning. i have a pc for bigger games. but holy shit ps4 and xb1 are both still godawful after 4 fuckin years. holy shit. and i'm sure switch will just be wiiu the remake

>20 WiiU games
Good lord what a waste of money.

every video game is a waste of money

As a completely neutral third party (PC only, I owned Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii but haven't bought a console since that generation) I would still rather get a PS4 over Wii U just because of Bloodborne. There isn't really any other exclusive on either the PS4 or the Wii U that I care about.

Bloodborne isn't something that the "undisputed home console" the Wii-U's entire library could compete with. I regret my PS4 purchase for other reasons but Bloodborne is one of the best games of all time. Bayonetta? I played the first and got my fix. Maybe I'll emulate it some day. Their current roster of first party titles cannot grab my interest, could not care less about Super Mario, Mario Kart...

OP, if I don't care about mario games, why on earth would I buy a WiiU?

Monster Hunter, while it was relevant.

Anyone with a brain won't argue that the ps4 didn't have a miserable start. I feel it was worse than ps3's.

Already have a 3DS, not buying a system for 1 game.

neat

I don't own a PS4. WiiU still sucks.

#FE, the only good game on Wii U.

Enjoy your 2+ year drought then. I had over 500 hours on MH3U, it's not the only game I played, but it more than justified the system cost.

>this attempt at deflection
mfw

What 2 year drought? MHW comes out on PS4 in January.

The thing was, Bloodborne is a system seller game. The Wii U didn't have a single game worth buying a console for.

I kinda want to get a Switch but I fear it will be a blunder like the WiiU.
Only with more shovelware.

If you skip 3U you're going from Tri (2009) to MH4 (2014) so it's considerably longer than 2 years, actually.

Notice how the first post you responded to said "when it was relevant"?

I would have bought one if it had a MH.

First 3DS MonHun came out in 2014. 3U came out in 2011. When it came to thinking about how you'd play Monster Hunter, there was no considering the 3DS when 3U came out.

I didn't ask if I should have then, I asked why I should now.

Regardless if you have to put that many qualifiers on your killer app, it's not much of a killer app.

WiiU is not worth buying.

>that many qualifiers
It was one. And that one was being in the timeframe of an iterative online games multiplayer scene being relevant. It's still a good game on its own, but you'd be hard pressed to find people to do the online multiplayer sections with on account of it being 5 years old.

There's very little reason to buy the WiiU in the current year, on account of there being a new hardware push by Nintendo. The only currently relevant things on the WiiU are Bayo2, Super Mario Maker, Wonderful 101, and Pikmin. Most of the other games that made the system relevant are no longer the newest iteration of the game, which is relevant when it comes to multiplayer online games.

So there is by your admission no reason to buy a wiiu now, despite the fact that there is far more out for it than there was in 2014, yet you somehow think there was a reason then.

You're not very bright.

>from 2012-mid 2016 the Wii U was an undisputed home console of the year.
Wii U had literally nothing in 2012 or 2013. It didn't get good games until late 2014. Fuck off retard

Agreed, OP. It's sad that 99% of PS4 games were also available on ps3/pc/multiplat. Any exclusives it does have are mediocre movies.

I don't understand how people would rather play Knack than Pikmin 3.

It had Nioh...

Persona 5

Reminder that the Wii U had more worthwhile games long before the PS4 had some.

- Bayonetta 2
- Mario Kart 8
- Super Mario 3d World
- The Wonderful 101
- Super Smash Bros Wii U
- Super Mario Maker
- Splatoon
- Xenoblade X
All came out before Persona 5, Horizon & Yakuza

too bad MK8 isn't exclusive anymore.

>2015
Yoru no Nai Kuni
Atelier Sophie
Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen
Yakuza 0
Dragon Quest Heroes
Neptunia VII
Disgaea 5
>2016
Atelier Firis
Utawarerumono: Futari no Hakuoro
Yakuza 6
Tales of Berseria
Persona 5
Dragon Quest Heroes II
Mary Skelter
Tokyo Xanadu ex+
im@s Platinum Stars
Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X

Is this enough? Or do you need more?

God the Wii U was such a beast

> too bad
You mean it's GOOD that the game got a Switch port so more people can play it.

Also Pikmin 3

no because it isn't an exclusive anymore

Take off Star Fox Zero, Color Splash, and Devil's Third

Why?

Those games are bottom of the barrel trash, literally on the same level as Knack

Bloodborne sold 2.7 million, thats fucking pathetic, why do you faggots act like its some kind of classic

No

the ps3 wasn't abandoned as a failure 2 years before the ps4 came out

Yes

The Wii U was abandoned in 2015?

Xenoblade X was the last worthwhile game and it was in 2015

T. Pcbro

Pokken and TMS came out last year, BotW this year, which yeah is also on Switch but that doesn't magically make it disappear from Wii U. And that's ignoring the arguably bad stuff like Star Fox

>I don't care about the games so it means they weren't there, how could you Nintendo

TMS sucked and they released Pokken knowing it would never be complete, basically a $60 beta test
