Wait for the Switch version instead

What's the general consensus on pre-ordering games ?

If you're going to buy it anyways there's really no reason not to. If you're on the fence than preorder bonuses should not be an incentive no matter what they are

Never support shitty practices.

Silky smooth 18fps

always wait on some real gameplay before making your decision

>Pre order
>Can cancel any time
There is literally no downside to this

Wait for the game to be out before deciding whether you're buying or not. Don't fall for propaganda like a sheep.

Midnight launch lines used to be fun. Chatting up with fellow WoWbros at TBC midnight launch was great, you could spread the hype on toast.

It is smart here in Germany when it comes to "successful" games. I didn't preorder Cyber Sleuth and had to wait 3 weeks until it was available again, didn't buy Uncharted 4 but after release it wasn't available for a month on Amazon and even Gravity Rush 2 wasn't available for 2 weeks.
Germany gets too few games on launch all the time so if you don't want to buy digital here you have to preorder.

>>twitch

Use your words, user. I know verbal communication is hard for those with autism but aren't you types supposed to be good at text communication?

Not with downgrades

>Getting it on PC so have to wait a few months after PS4
Always hate this.

Just got it to 500p like Doom at 30fps with dips

Someone post the list of casualisations and btfo some more sonybros

>6 carts
>target lock on specific parts
>attacks can no longer bounce
>no critical distance for gunners
>gain character level ups to increase either attack or defense
>wind press, tremor removed
>can trade all items and not just above 3 rarity like before

The level up shit has to be bullshit jist like no critical distance

>> carts
Stopped reading there, what the FUCK

my question is this - why not wait until the day of release?

>attacks can no longer bounce

no........no!!!!!

Nothing in that post is true. At least name actual shit like no flexing and village/guild quests being merged.

Why do you do this? Are you getting paid to anti-shill by spreading false information?

yeah, console shitposting aside, how did PC go from the premier platform to second class in certain aspects. we still get the most games but lots of AAA games are delayed on PC

I don't believe this for 2 seconds. this wouldn't even be monhun anymore

It's now to do with Japanese always focus on console first and PC last.

dissidia is trash, but I know that even if world is bad, I'm going to buy it anyway because i'm horribly addicted to the series, so I might as well preorder.

The beta for dissidia totally persuaded me not to buy it. I was wary after watching footage from the arcade game but playing it myself just made me not want to ever look at it ever again.

How do we get back to the glory days? there needs to be a strategy

>paying 10 dollars extra for downgrades
Why do Nintenbros do this?

Development for one system is harder than optimizing for several thousand combinations of possible PC hardware

Just pre-order them a week before they come out.

is EASIER, easier, fuck

>but I know it's not smart to pre-order games.
Why? If you're sure you want the game day1 there's no harm in pre-ordering.
It's only bad when it's a new IP whose marketing was built on lies, or a series with questionable quality (like CoD which changes devs on a 2-3 year cycle)

No matter how much MHW may "suck" I know I'll still have a blast from day1 with half a dozen of friends for at least 100 hours, so it's more than worth it to pre-order for the little extra content even in the worst-case scenario.

All these lies lmao
Additional carts were just for demo
target lock on is QoL. It's not like hitting specific parts was hard before
Attacks definitely can bounce, that's Nergigante's whole gimmick when his spikes harden
no comment on the gunner bit because never even played gunner but I'll assume it's bullshit
level ups? Haha what the fuck, source? That's bullshit
wind press and tremor are definitely in
>can trade all items
again, source?
(you) by the way :^)

Do I spend the extra 100 on a pro for this game?

If you want to. Chances are it won't perform much better with a pro, the trend thus far has been upscale and make it look a little nicer with more particle effects and some AA. framerate is generally the same. Boost mode is nice for older games without pro support, some games even get more stable framerates from it (bloodborne has almost no drops in framerate from playing online with it, whereas you'd always drop 3-4 frames a second when online on a normla). Chances are there'll be some sort of pro sale for the holidays given the xbone x is coming out soon. Maybe a $50 price cut.

If you don't have a ps4, then go for it.

Still creating stupid mock ups for things that'll never happen. Sad.

So any reason to be interested in this when the previous games, especially PS2, PSP ones, had abysmal gameplay suited only for hardcore autists?
I have no reason to spend 40 minutes on one boss and die anyway because he keeps running away and I ran out of potions

Why would it be "not smart" to preorder games? You get games cheaper on amazon if you preorder them, amazons return policy allows you to send them the game back and get your money back for like 2 weeks, you get preorder bonuses and sometimes you get the game early. What exactly is the drawback with preordering?

xD ebic

nope. no reason. get out

And you're right. Don't do that. Wait until after they're out.

I sorta do want that samurai transmog piece by going digital. But waiting to see what else can be transmogged.

Genuine question, I want to know what exactly you found fun in, say, Freedom Unite. I played Freedom 1 for 8 hours and quit. Then I played Unite for 4 hours and it was the same thing so I quit

You can't follow a bad bait with a slightly less bad bait
give up

The brilliant MH community

The actual state of bait today

You didn't grap the game's mechanics. There's no reason to spend 40minutes on ANY solo fight, much less the easier fights early on. Clearly you fucked up somewhere down the line with your basic understanding of the game. Much like a newbie can struggle in the first area of his first Souls game for 6 hours, but on his second Souls game he goes through it like butter in 10 minutes.

That's all there is to it.
That being said MonHun is not friendly to new people and the first "tutorial" quests are fucking boring. My guess is that MHW is changing that with a more interesting introduction and a voiced guide giving you play-by-play tips. Whether you'll like the game after understanding it I don't know.

I really want to do buy it now, but I just have a few doubts.

For example:

>We have no idea what Dissidia's season pass will have and we don't know who the 6 dlc characters will be

>Hell, S.E didn't even tell us if the dlc characters will be new or returning characters.

>The beta was kind of dissapointing and had online issues (we might have online issues at launch again).

>we don't know if there will be any changes to Dissidia NT's gameplay.

>there actually adding paid dlc for MH....

>they might even add micro-transactions just to get more money.

>we might get online issues.

>You didn't grap
grasp*

FUCK

I think you are pretty safe preordering this one. If you are into MH, you are 99,9% sure to get your moneys worth.

I get that, but even souls games don't throw you into fights that require you to invest much time on and lose inevitably because you need more experience with the mechanics.
I mean, my first fight with a velociprey lasted 10-15 minutes, I exhausted everything I had to barely kill it. Then the next quest has me kill 3 of them which made me think i've fucked up somewhere and I should be having much better gear, I was like "fuck it" and quit at that point. I couldn't be assed with the way the combat felt. I'm a soulsfag too, that's why I thought I would enjoy MH

velocidrome*

If you're a newbie hunting 3 velociprey with the starting gear, no wonder it gets tiring.
Maybe you should have killed some smaller mobs to make better gear, fight some velociprey/other low-tier monsters and make armor out of them.
Get the snowball rolling, you know
But honestly, if you're a fan of souls combat I don't know how you manage to spend all your resources on a single velociprey, assuming you had a max amount of both potions

Stop responding to bait

I meant to say velocidrome of course, the weaker ones weren't a big deal. The problem with drome fights was especially a pain in the ass with PSP's limited controls because there were so many prey's jumping up my ass all the time so I had a hard time safely dealing damage to the drome. Also I only played with greatswords since I like them, maybe that made it harder for a new player?

>but even souls games don't throw you into fights that require you to invest much time on and lose inevitably because you need more experience with the mechanics.
What? You just described every first boss of all Souls games.
In Bloodborne you can't even spend your Souls before you get raped by the first boss (unless you randomly picked up an item in the sewers beforehand and knew it would activate the doll) and there's no quick way to get to him, you'll most likely die on your way there and lose them (from the perspective of a newcomer).
In MonHun you don't lose anything but your own time. And the first boss of MHFU is a fucking slighly bigger boar, how can you possibly struggle against him for 40 minutes?

Maybe you're using a slow weapon and missing 80% of your attacks and/or getting punished by your bad timings. Use S&S or dual blades, I don't know. Go watch a 5 minute guide of MonHun basics before wasting another 40minutes on a Qurupeco or whatever.
Don't know what to tell you. If you can be bothered to learn the game and don't like the animation-locked combat then just don't play the franchise and leave the thread I guess. You're not doing much here. The solution to your problem is obvious, just watch a couple of videos and spend time learning the game instead of running around like a headless chicken.

Obviously I didn't have any trouble with boars. The real troubles I had was the fight with kut-ku and the ape boss, they ran away over and over to areas with full of and respawning hostile mobs. And yeah I used greatsword and holy shit it's slow, but I figured it was a part of the slow combat and dealt with it

>paying 60 bucks for a high rank only game

Ranks are arbitrary. They could make High rank new G rank

Then stop being dumb and only spend money when you know the game is actually good first.

@392320550
At least we're getting a game. Enjoy waiting for your 480p 3DS port.

Yeah perhaps you should've looked at a general weapon guide before using the slowest weapon in the game against the smallest and fastest monsters.
Long Sword has great reach so you'll hit most attacks even if they aren't spot-on, it also has an attack+dodge (triangle+circle) to avoid getting punished and is much quicker than the GreatSword. Usually it's a good weapon to start with.
Sword&Shield is among the quickest weapons although it has a shorter reach (but you'll just be doing hit&runs anyway), however you can drink potions or use items with the weapon drawn, and your walking speed isn't slowed down with it drawn either, making it good for newbies.
Dual Swords are the fastest weapon but they have a stamina-drain mechanic that can fuck your tiny brain up so avoid them for now.

There, 2 much better alternative to the great sword for early game monsters. GreatSword is best for bigger monsters and only once you know their timings and moveset, because all you'll be doing with it is stand on a spot for 3 seconds while charging your attack and only releasing it at the perfect time on the monster's head - as you may guess it's not a good entry-level weapon. Getting armor skills to help with charging and sheath speed is also recommended.

Here's an example of how GS's are used:

>Has a compulsion to do something that does nothing

Man fuck me, so i've been gimping myself just because I thought I could choose any weapon and stick with it, also i've never used charge attack. I think i'll try Freedom again with another weapon

Never preorder.

The publisher might pull some shut like Sega did with Sonic Mania on PC.

The game itself might be shit.

The developers might turn out to be kuck faggots that you shouldn't give money to on principle alone.

Etc etc etc

> also i've never used charge attack

Play MHPortable3rd (with an english patch) on PPSSPP instead. It's easier and has many quality of life improvements over MHFU. It's the best starting point IMO

>preorder culture
>will be no scarcity, the only real reason to preorder without additional incentives (not just ransomed content)
>months, plural, before release

Literally no upside either.

Call me foolish, but honestly I have enough faith in the MonHun dev team to not make a shit game/turn out to be kuck faggots
They haven't disappointed me before, they seem to have put a lot of love into World and it looks great
I still probably won't preorder it because I don't really care for the preorder bonuses, but then again since I'm going to play the game on day 1 why shouldn't I preorder?

I either skipped tutorial/explanation or they didn't tell me I could do it. I wasn't kidding when I said fights could last 40 minutes

I'll look into it

>Points out a problem with world
>"b-but nintendo..."
You shills are getting desperate

As far as I know, ranks are abolished.

They've literally said there's low and high rank

Preording games doesnt matter if you know its a game youll buy anyway. If they announced Bloodborne 2 today, i'd preorder it because no matter what they do to it, ill still probably buy it

Where was this?

Interviews at Gamescom

Ah! This video is new to me.

Thank you, user.

>Tokuda: “We do have the same sort of Low Rank, High Rank structure, but in the older titles when you go to High Rank, the story was no longer a concern, but this time we want to make sure the story continues on a thread throughout High Rank. One big difference in the structure is that there’s no longer a separation between village hall and gathering hall quests—that distinction doesn’t exist anymore. You get a quest and you can choose whether to play it solo or online.”

It takes a very quick google search to find the answer to your question.

Why bother if you pre-order your supporting shitty practices like content not be accessible unless you pre-order rather than being released publicly.

>cuckekkz
How does it feel to get info from a literal Capcom shill?

You mean a direct quote from the developers on video? I don't give a shit who recorded it

On Sup Forums, you are literally worse than Hitler if you pre-order games.
I don't think there is anything wrong with it. They way it works in my country is that I don't have to pay in advance at all and I can cancel anytime so there is literally no downside. Maybe in burgerland it's different, that's why people are so anal about it. If not, and it's the same system, then yeah, each and every one of those speaking out against pre-orders are literally, figuratively and metaphisically retarded.

It's the same in America. At worst if for some reason you put in a preorder at fucking Gamestop they have like a $5 deposit you pay up front.

Then there is literally no reason to be so anal about it, and every single one of them is brainfucked retarded manchildren.

Is the only way not to be a shill to say that World is the worst game you've ever seen?

>took 15 minutes to kill velocidrome
You're not playing the game right. I don't know what you're doing, but that shouldn't happen. What weapon type are you using?
