Also Naughty Dog has long since denounced any and all involvement with Jak and Daxter ever since Uncharted took off.
So far I've bought this game three times. One for PS2, one for PS Vita, one for PS4. Only one that didn't disappoint was PS2 but my CRT doesn't work properly anymore so I have to get another one that does.

Well seeing as you're not poor you may as well get a PS3 now, not least for PS2 games. I say that because almost of all of the BIG ps2 games were HD remastered on PS3. R&C trilogy, Jak trilogy, Sly trilogy, MGS trilogy, GoW trilogy, Hitman trilogy, Shadow of the Colossus, Ico, Okami, Rayman 3, etc etc I could go on. It's convenient having them all on my PS3.

The PS4 version is literally just the PS2 version upscaled, and the Vita version is literally worse than the PS2 version. If you really liked and played Jak 1 that much you would get a PS3 with the definitive version of Jak 1.

Emulated PS2 version on PS4. It didn't look as bad as this.
I'm another person, and they were remasters. The games were upscaled to true 720p. If it were a port, they wouldn't change anything to the original game.
Also, I dislike the Ps3 remaster of SotC, since it's based on the European Ps2 version and not NA Ps2 version. In the European version, the physics were made more realistic and the colossi shook more, creating a very tedious experience. In the NA version, the physics are more floaty, diagonal jumping saves stamina, and the colossi don't shake as much. The game is not as tedious and more fun.
The Ps2 version of Psychonauts looked bad. Only the Xbox version looked fine.

It's not scaled at sub-1080, it simply is blurry by design due to post processing effects that were made for its native resolution. PCSX2 recently allowed this blur to not be drawn or be upscaled (earlier it could be solved with skipdraw).
Sony apparently couldn't find a way to make it non blurry without breaking stuff.
