Shadow of the Colossus is epic

Seen flash games that have done it better, all it has that puts it above that are the graphics.

Yes

jej

Dont get me wrong, I really liked it, but I stayed away from the hype, didnt watch or read anything about the game, just watched a couple 2min gameplay vids and was sure that it would be donkey kong-esque (pass some stages face a boss)

the "only bosses" gimmick was a huge letdown tbqh

is this your first boss rush game?

I played through the first world. I thought it was alright at best, the genre just probably isn't for me. I was playing coop as well, so if I was playing single player it probably would've been even worse.

this is why you at least read the one paragraph summary of the game in the store page before buying.

It actually is

Gimme some boss rush games fags

I think I remember seeing a cool one for the snes or genesis a long time ago, but I never caught on the name

No you haven't

Man, when boss rush games get made well they're so fantastic to play.

Alien Soldier

...

one recent one was already posted in the thread.
Ys series aren't boss rush games, but they do have really good boss fights and a boss rush mode.
heads too cloudy to rattle off a list though, sorry.

No More Heroes

OP here I phrased it wrong

>make pseudo-2D game that reeks of stages platform, to a boss-fight game

What a fucking wasted opportunity, this could've been this generation's DK or DKC2

Super Smash Bros. Brawl has a really fun boss rush mode. It can also be co-op, definitely underrated.

it was great. go bitch about a game that's actually bad, instead of complaining that a good game could have been better.

it could have been way fucking better if it had actual stages and you know it. There's no reward now. The whole game is bosses and the only enjoyment you get is if youre a gamer already and you feel good about beating hard bosses.

Its a double gimmick for their core target audiences
>make it cute enough for the normies
>make it hard enough for "da gamurz"

Its a good game to play JUST ONE TIME. No music, no progression just a set of bosses you have to beat and then "oh hey congrats!!!"

Yeah if only they did the same shit everyone else was doing.

Yeah if only they had actual stages and not those shitty speedrun whatevers they ALREADY put in FOR SOME REASON in each level.

I wonder why they did that and the game isnt 100% bosses, just 90%...

The whole point of these types of games is that you beat stage after stage to get to a boss and move on to the next level. Making every level a boss level and adding a """stage"""" inbetween is gay as fuck, dont try to sell as something that "broke the mold"

>I wonder why they did that and the game isnt 100% bosses
Because people bitched up a storm when they heard it was going to be exactly that.

Cuphead is really the definition of style over subtance. If this game didn't have 10/10 art and music behind it the gameplay would not be able to hold the game up. Metal Slug 3 does run and gun a fuckton better and without the need for artifical "keep dying until you get it" difficulty, done solely to pad out 1-minute bossfights into 30-minute agonizing rituals. The game is really not enjoyable in the slightest because its not designed to be enjoyable, they designed it to be hard for the sake of hard because without it the game would have absolutely nothing and be forgotten as "that really pretty bossrush game".

Its the reason I'm not interested in getting it.

Is it on Switch yet? if not, not interested in this piece of shit.

Its the Gone Home/Undertale of 2017

It's not a pickle if it hasn't be left to sit in vinegar for weeks, other wise it's just a cucumber.

...

This shit is so hard I still can't beat the plane bitch in the first world

>make a game that consists only of boss fights
There's an anal vore game that already did that ages ago.

I wonder why you fucking idiot

>it was advertised as a game focused on boss fights
>complain that it's not something else
get a grip, user.

what are phase is giving you trouble?

u fuckin suck nigger

...

I know
I keep dying before getting to the last phase, the controls are kinda awkward but I'll keep trying

if you get the bow, switch weapons to the bomb and use that to destroy the homing stars
if you get the twins, stay above the ball before the firing starts. I've found that usually the bullets from that ball don't start right above it.

go get em user i believe in you behind you all the way 100% i said you suck before but really it's not that hard

Im stuck on the dragon right now. Literally would have taken 2 more hits and I would have passed it. This game is so addicting, I love it. Can't have actual game discussion here on Sup Forums. We need to talk about e-celebs.

Thanks guys

The market's starved for boss rush games.

is monhun considered a boss rush game?
I've never really thought of it as such, but I guess the argument can be made.

if you need extra help I can make a webm if you want.

Are you literally retarded? It has "actual stages" along with boss fights.

Of course, despite the existence of gathering quests(especially in Material Gatherer Generations)

I love it.
NMH2 was great like that.

I totally agree with you.
Everybody loves a shining turd.

>and the only enjoyment you get is if youre a gamer already and you feel good about beating hard bosses.
Do you need skin unlocks and a larger number to tell you you're having fun too?

Weird. I always found the bullets to start above the ball. Except for the time i started aiming for me and I lost the run.

for me they start on the left or right side, not directly above. maybe it's completely random, but like I said that's what's worked for me the best.
