I may be triggering you, but the battle mode in the Mario Kart games, is more or less a Twisted Metal clone (or should I say, was Twisted Metal, before Twisted Metal)

Twisted Metal 2 has really cool level design though, secret inputs, and good platforming.

I loved the sound effect his special made. When I wasn't initially able to play minion I'd play whoever was the fastest.

Twitsted Metal and car combat games are pure gameplay.

As soon as they can figure out a way to slap the twisted metal assets over uncharted/a walking simulator sony will put out a dozen of them.

because twisted metal wouldnt transition well to the current "competitive" matchmaking hamster wheel + lootbox gambling simulator formula that makes money these days, and its not a good enough single player game to draw a big enough audience
