Why does RE5 get so much hate?
Fun is not a legitimate description of gameplay you fucking autist.
I also genuinely thought it was a pretty good game. It was also scarier than RE4 (though 4 was a better game) since RE4 wasn't actually scary at all, whereas 5 at least threw so much shit at you at once and in such sustained sections that it was very tense.
Sheva's AI is that bad on Professional.
i agree this game is underappreciated
>Describing a game as fun is wrong
>>Quality DLC
All of the DLC ranged from average to awful. Lost in Nightmares being the worst.
Yeah beating Wesker + Jill without her killing herself was annoying.
But the game is pretty decent, and fun with a friend.
One of the best co-op I have ever played.it was made to be played with another person.
Is it really?
Yes, it is.
Only friendless people hate it, and an extremely small group of die hard Raccoon City era fans.
Mercs DLC and alternate costumes were nice tho
I thought mercs was core content, probably the best part of the game honestly.
>on rails vehicle turret sections
>El Gigante knockoff on a turret
>giant sea monster you have to kill with turrets
>Jill fight is one elongated QTE sequence
>cool bosses
I currently have Origins Collection, 4, and 5 on the PS4. Are 6 and 7 worth getting? Also are Revelation 1 and 2 any good?
it's amazing fun with a friend and dogshit by yourself. You figure it out. :)
Professional is rigged anyway. You get downed for one hit, bleeding out takes about 2 seconds so there is roughly 0.3 seconds of leeway for your partner to hit revive or you're dead, the only way to play it is to never ever get hit and you know how that goes with the AI
>Sheva's AI really isn't that bad
Stop right there, if you are not playing re5 in co-op, you have no right to defend this game.
Maybe on Professional it's that bad, but I never had any issue on normal difficulty except when she wouldn't get off a turret.
Trying this hard...
>played Lost in Nightmares recently for the first time
>heard it was much better than the main game, was looking forward to it
>you piss around in a replica mansion for 20 minutes with keys, spend the guts of an hour doing the same shitty colour coded trap puzzle 4 times and then finish with a copy-pasted Wesker fight from the main game
Successful astroturfing campaign against it long after release ruined its legacy.
I have never met anyone outside of the internet that didn't buy and like it on day one if they were exposed to it.
Who was behind the negativity is a mystery. Maybe someone took offense to its subject matter in relation to the others.
Her AI is only ever as good as alright if you play around it. Someone playing the game for the first time and without another player is not going to have a good time.
Most of your other points are fine though
>being a mouthbreathing retard who can't name a single good thing about the gameplay so he just calls it fun
End your mongoloid self along with OP.
>RE4 wasn't actually scary at all
6 is decent, but playing with a friend is absolutely essential. Mercs mode is really fun.
7 is short but very good. Takes a wild turn away from the past ~13 years of RE games but in a good way.
I didn't like Revelations 1, but that's me. They have an episodic structure ('Next Time On ...." between chapters) and I thought the characters were too silly. It also was a 3DS game so expect worse graphics and slower controls than RE5. Revelations 2 was not a 3DS game and they did more interesting things, it's decent.
The melee system where you could use different attacks depending on where you shot them and combo them with your partner was neat.
>FROSTY CHOCOLATE MILKSHAKES is scary now
Every time someone says regenerators are scary, I think they must be retarded. Then I remember RE4 came out 12 years ago and they played it as little kids, then I cry myself to sleep.
Regenerators have a spooky sound effect (that you hardly ever get to hear if you're actually fighting them) but other than that they look doofy as fuck.
>Sheva's AI really isn't that bad
Bull fucking shit
If you examine the front door after entering the mansion 3 times in Lost in Nightmares, the game goes into fixed camera mode.
>Good assortment of weapons
If by "good assortment" you mean "assortment of weapons that differ primarily in .1 second difference in firing speed or .3 second difference in reload speed"
>7 is short
The fuck, the only mainline RE game longer than 7 is 4. And I guess 6 probably but I couldn't play that for more than 2 hours.
4 went on for-fucking-ever. They could have cut the Island section in half and it would have been just s good.
Wasn't comparing to other RE games necessarily, just in general. It felt short to me, pretty easy overall.
...
As long as we have a Resident Evil thread up I'd like to say that they got the Cajun talk of Jack in RE7 wrong. It was like listening to a city boy use a country accent.
I almost never hear legitimate, down-the-bayou cajuns say "mothafucka." You'll hear some guys in town say it, mostly those who were raised by the internet, but real coon-asses typically say "faggot" or some racial epithet. Other profanity is rare and used sparingly.
The vowel pronunciation's off too.
I mean that's essentially just Revelations 2. Not exactly the same but Raid mode with a friend is far more fun than the story mode, which I'm only like halfway through and will probably never touch again.
You forgot that you can also kill niggers
It's not even that, but the maps are designed around a co-op experience. I was wondering why they ditched big areas from re4 until I gave the game a try in co-op, it really starts to make sense when you are playing together with a friend.
re6 is the one that get's too much hate when it's clearly fun
what in the goddamn fuck about 5 was scary????
4 at least had regenerators and some pretty solid atmosphere in the early sections.
The bosses in 5 were boring as fuck. Oh boy! Tentacle Blobs 1, 2, 3, and 4!
Then there's Wesker, main antagonist of the series up to that point, getting a pretty mediocre final form and fight
Story was fucked. What should have been the opening chapter of the game was sold as DLC later. That and the ads for the game spoiled its own twists before the game even fucking came out
Mercs was good though, yeah.
Wesker and Jill fight on Professional was probably the angriest I've ever been at a game, and it was because of Sheva's fucking AI
>Wesker and Jill fight
>Not the Wesker fight from Lost In Nightmares
I don't think I even bothered doing LiN on pro
