2064: Read Only Memories

This game got released earlier this year. Anybody heard of it? If so, what are people's thoughts on it?

Try the demo.

Note the Jim Sterling voice acting. The "diverse" casting. The-social justice-themed "[fictional oppressed group] are humans too"! The unfunny, self-righteous dialogue.

I lasted about ten minutes.

Just play VA11-HA11A

I've heard VA11-HA11A is great, it's in the backlog.

There's actually a few 2064 references, which unfortunately implies the two games are in the same universe.

Stuff I liked:
The art

The Narrative (In its broad strokes rather than it's thematic implications)

THE MUSIC, HOLY SHIT

Stuff I did not like:

SJW nonsense

Everyone is gay or trans etc.

Some bad voice acting

I played the pre update version and it was okay. Very heavy handed writing but easy to ignore. Good music. I saw a trailer for the new voice acting and outside Gillian Seed's voice it sounds fuckin awful.

Yeah agreed, verry amateurish and poorly done, excluding Jeff Lupatin.

so no actual gripes, just Sup Forums being triggered then?

Bonus thing I liked:

Turing.

I tried this after playing VA11-HA11A

I was desperate for some more cyberpunk comfy dialogue, but instead I was given a lecture and the most hand holding adventure game I've ever played.

Lasted for 20 minutes, haven't played it since.
Mega disappointing, and I'm bi, VA11-HA11A had better narrative than this ham fisted garbage. Better guys too.

>multiple pronouns beyond his and her
It's shi-
>Can do dick, dicks, dickself
It's gold

Not everyone who dislikes heavy-handed idpol garbage is Sup Forums, user, just FYI.

>Just play VA11-HA11A
yes play the one that doesn't look like vomit

Isn't this the game with the anti Trump cuck dev?

Kuso poofter propaganda
It's made by the group that organises the gaymerX convention...

Yes. They even said something like "Don't buy our game if you support Trump"

I don't really care about politics. But I can't stand when a dev asks people not to buy their game. I didn't buy Pitchford's, I didn't buy Schafer's, and I won't buy this one. Stop being dicks on Twitter. Why does everything have to be a political statement now?

VA11-HA11A is the better game anyway.

Isn't not buying the game because of things they say on Twitter a political statement itself?

Is it possible to separate the art from the artist?

From what I've seen posted about it on Sup Forums, VA11-HA11A seems like bland waifu-bait.

stop shitting your pants in public or be poor

A sape like yourself could never appreciate true art

Not exactly. I'd do the same if they said something like "Don't buy our game if you don't like hotdogs"

It's mostly about alienating your fan base. I just don't see the point.

They both have the same publisher so they're obligated to make those references, but the characters from both settings don't clash so I'm okay with that possibility

I don't care about the trump stuff, but it has people like Zoe Quinn in it. If you don't care, just try the demo to see if you like it.
