Berserker.

Caster.

Fuck winning the grail war, it is the best class for LOVE and got servants i like in its pool.

Caster is always OP as fuck and would win most wars if plot armor wan't a thing.

Archer is OP as fug

Caster no doubt

Archer, so I can hang out with this bro during the down time.

Berserker.
I'm 6'2, swole, and played contact sports my whole life.

How do I get into the anime?

Ruler

>called Archer
>uses mostly swords
>even his bow's strongest sttack is shooting a sword
I'd take Archer any day of the week

...

You don't.
Read the VN.

Patricians and smart people
Fighter servants are only good for open combat at which point you fucked up already, and you better be a good mage. If you're smart you stick to Casters and Assassins

Just watch Ufotable's Unlimited Blade Works

Read the VN.

Assuming you have a big enough mana pool to allow your Servant to fight at their maximum power without any handicaps, which class is objectively the best?

>caster flying outside of the temple
What

I'd take my chances with Caster. Might get somebody cool, might get somebody useless.

Have you gone insane tho bro?
Reminder that by Nasus own rules Medea should have been able to recognize and hardcounter Berserker-Hercules since she dispelled his madness after her WOMAN SCORNED episode and he sheltered her for a time in gratitude, fucking waste of potential, they weren't just alive during the same time, they were actual friends, she is logically one of his worst matchups as a Berserker.

When was she restricted to only flying in the temple?

She's not restricted but she wouldn't step outside her own fortress for no reason

That's just from the opening

Saber, of course!

I'd go with an assassin that has caster abilities. Best of both worlds.

How the hell did Kinoko Nasu read Fate/Apocrypha and think "Yeah, this story is good enough to make a part of the multiverse!"?

I'm serious.
I played national rugby, and about 10 years of hockey. I still play a little college league. I lift 5-6 days a week.

Nasu doesn't give a fuck

whatever the one on the chariot is

Well Berserk tried to assault the temple and got repelled, that might've played into it.
Maybe it would be a part of cut Caster route
We may never know

Rider. Gimmick class with awful stats balanced with a FUCK YOU Super Move

Good for you, but you need to gone mad to be a Berserker and im not sure autism counts for mad enchantment, but who the fuck knows with how much shit FGO changed, and i think OP is asking what you would summon.

And the Caster class got Illya so are you sure you wouldn't go for that?

I'd summon a cute servant like Astolfo or Enkidu. Class doesn't matter, we're both boys.

>enkidu
>a boy

Archer any day

Choose saber or lancer, have them run defense while you're out killing masters

aka the kerrytugu strat

Yeah, lumps of literal mud don't have a gender.

Assassin
Shuten Douji

Why is Servant Emiya a girl?

What if she grinds your bones into her sake
Worth

That was because she knew Herc Berserker was running around unchecked. Shits different in UBW.

illya\chloe used archer card to summon emiya's heroic spirit into herself

He isn't. That's Illya going magical girl super mode by using the powers of a servant,

fpbp

Because Illya is a Grail that is very very lewd, of course she can put servants inside her.

You may win the Grail War, but you will lose everything else.

rider

I'd be a shit mage so would just personality summon, otherwise the servant would likely kill me

Have they ever given a reason why assassin is the only one that doesn't end with er? You would think that it should be called Killer.

They physically can't harm you as long as you have the command seals
Speaking of, if you run out of those but your servant is willing to keep fighting for you, can't you renew the contract?

>They physically can't harm you as long as you have the command seals
How did Caster kill her summoner in Stay Night?

She tricked him into using them all up.

Made him waste his seals on stupid shit

Pretty sure you can be killed by your servant, usually the reasons this never happens are

>The servant will disappear quickly without a master to bind them to the world unless they have independent action
>The master uses a command seal to force the servant not to kill them

AVENGER!

My choice of servant would depend entirely on their level of DTF.

So Sup Forums, I've been writing an autistic fan VN/RPG for Fate. It includes my own alternate holy grail war canon.

Anyone want to hear about it? Hitler is one of the most influential "servants"..

Ruler, ffs.

I think I gotta go Caster.

this isn't true/has been retconned

It's counterproductive of the servant to kill their master as the master is what keeps them in our world.

So unless they had a way to get another master quickly/independent action/or were prepared to disappear because they hate their master that much they wouldn't hurt their own master.

Though when servants are summoned the one who comes to you is usually a servant that has a similar personality/view on the world as you so you'd probably get along with them

They can harm you unless your order them not to

>They physically can't harm you as long as you have the command seals

How unsuprising, So is he Lancer or Caster? Does he have the Innocent Monster skill? always fun to see how people interpret that guy.

What class did you make Hitler?

>Anyone want to hear about it?

Hitler first appears during the 6th holy grail war, which is the Dresdon Holy Grail War. He appears as a Counter Force Wraith rather than a true servant, the same as Emiya. He appears again in his true Counter Force Wraith version as The Freeshooter during the 8th Holy Grail War.

This list does not include several extra servants who wormed their way in. An example would be Maximilian the 1st reappearing during the 6th Holy Grail War. Also Caster Recursive, basically a line of casters summoning themselves, summoning themselves, summoning themselves back in a spiral that messed up the Spiral of Origin.

A lot of these happened in the 'canon' for the games long enough ago that they are no longer relevant. For instance the first Holy Grail war happened in 1802.

(1/???)

I want to marry this evil cat

As well one of the biggest concepts I realized needed to be covered was how the Grail has been changed. Due to the 3rd Holy Grail war not happening in at all a similar manner the Grail's corruption is not present in the way it was before.

Instead there are a few things that came instead. The Fractured Grail and The Grail in Exile.

The Grail in Exile is the concept of a Holy Grail that can exist outside of the few weeks time span before and after the Holy Grail War. It was created during the 4th Holy Grail War by its winner Maximilian the 1st Whose title was King of Romans, King of X is significant in the canon, Other kings include King of Egyptians (Ramessees II) and King of Mercenaries (John Hawkwood) fought Dominator, an extra servant caused by the fusion of The Zodiac Killer, a counter force agent with no true name, and Perseus after The Zodiac Killer devoured him. Maximilian the 1st was forced to wish using the Grail earlier than intended, and wished he could escape with it. This not only gave him a real body, but created The Grail in Exile.

The Fractured Grail was created in the 6th Holy Grail War when Adolf Hitler and Guy Fawkes tried to trigger a premature Grail awakening. The two of them each received a portion of the Grail. This caused the Grail to each grant them a twisted version of their wish. In subsequent Holy Grail Wars the Grail's awakening now required multiple pieces to be collected and forged before the full Grail could manifest. These lesser pieces essentially grant genie wishes. The moment the Fractured Grail was created was when the two of them had managed to open a path to Shangri La, supposedly one of three stems which feed the Grail power along with The Garden of Eden and the Grove of Idunn. While there they awakened The Eight Dharmapalas, the mythological defenders of Tibetan Buddhism. One in particular, Mahākāla, the Great Black One took an interest in the struggle.

Other important bits are the Edgar Allen Poe & Saber True: Alexander Hamilton conspiracy involving Poe's Death, the Reynold's Pamphlet, and The Poe Toaster. Caster Recursive, which the Nazi's created during the Dresdon Holy Grail War. Also the Eastern Orthodox Conspiracy centered around Maximilian the 1st (after his victory and gained mortality) and his descendants and their influence over later grail wars.

None of those gimped classes on the bottom, that's for damn sure.

>Hitler an Archer
Did he shoot irl? Seems more the Caster type to me. Most painters that don't have martial proficiency wind up as Caster.

Seeing some of the names on this list and how there are multiple servants per class is reminding me of a (spiraling out of control) FSN inspired tabletop RPG session being run at a game store I frequent.

This along with Gil having his arm ripped off and Shirou's and Rhino's date was definitely the best scene

He became Archer due to the influence of The Freeshooter.

During WWII the 3rd Reich were in an occult war with the clocktower. One of the artifacts they recovered was the legendary german pistol, The Freeshooter.

>en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freischütz

The legend is that the wielder may fire six bullets with perfect accuracy due to a contract with the devil, however the six shooter have a seventh shot controlled by the devil himself. Hitler used the sixth bullet to kill Eva Braun. The devil then turned the last bullet to Hitler's own head. This is when the Counter Force offered him a position as one of its wraiths as Hitler held the pistol to his own temple.

>Hitler
>not Rider, with a Noble Phantasm similar to Ionian Heitairoi
Trash

Why are Alters so much more superior to their normal counterparts?

Hitler would never have a NP similar to Ionian Heitairoi as it does not fit him in the slightest. He would instead need something that controls and turns neutral parties into allies. The man was the most proficient speech maker of the past century, and perhaps ever, but not a field commander by any stretch of the imagination.

>Caster
>Lovecraft
>not Abdul Alhazred

Don't read the VN, it's the most overrated shit from the 00s

>Both FUCK YOU NPs get no selled
Riders are bullyable

Saber, or at the very least Lancer

He was the commander in chief of the entire German armed forces though and German tanks, especially the Tiger are as iconic for WW2 as the pike phalanx was for classical antiquity

Unfortunately Caster was very crowded. There are many good casters from a narrative perspective.

However H.P. Lovecraft's NP is called The Dreamlands, through which creatures and characters from his story are called. It is non entirely clear whether The Dreamlands is a enormous Reality Marble or a connection to an actual place H.P. Lovecraft tapped into during his life.

>(possible) reality marble summoning creatures from Lovecraft's mythos
How the fuck is this balanced at all?

He'd probably be a caster with a high rank diplomacy skill and a reality marble based on the idea of a thousand year reich. Something like recruiting normal people to be fanatical soldiers.

Hitler is lancer because Lance of Longinus

It isn't. Lovecraft during 8th Holy Grail War rapidly ran out of control until he was killed and the portal sealed by the combined efforts of over half the other servants. They were forced to venture into the Dream Lands to find where Lovecraft was being tortured by his creations.

He might as well be Caster because of and neo-pagan meme magic

>en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freischütz
This is pretty neat. I think I'm going to use it in a D&D game some day.

The holy trail war was unbalanced from the start, only Archers, Sabers, and Riders were supposed to be able to win. But the other classes were still so bullshit they managed to be viable anyways.

It's fucking MvC2 with mages

I'm the user who wrote the alternate canon.

As I said he is Archer because of the influence of The Freeshooter. He would otherwise be caster using Nazi Occultism combined with natural charisma. Then as the Freeshooter he was cemented as an Archer spirit due to the following reasons:
>breaking free from the Counter Force and becoming a true Heroic Spirit by saving humanity from Mahākāla, the Great Black One during the events of the 8th Holy Grail War
>his soul fusing with that of the devil within The Freeshooter (giving him Rank D Divinity).
>Hitler becoming the mentor of the Shirou figure of the story

Actually my idea is kinda similar, it would have him be Lancer with Lance of Longnius that he can't use properly (only getting a passive effect that makes him and his NP slightly stronger against Christian and Jewish servants) and "Wunderwaffen: Miracles of the Greatest War" as his actual NP which would basically be EVERY conceptual Nazi Super Weapon, From the Tiger I/II to the Sungun.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wunderwaffe

I mean look at that shit.

>can finally use the P-1500 Monster
Fund it right now

>Adolf "[Wagner starts playing in the distance]" Hitler
>having powers inspired by a Weber opera
You fucked up now

The Lance of Longinus is already used by Saint Longinus himself in this canon. Saint Longinus gained Rank D Divinity as well by touching the true blood of christ.

Other extra servants are:
>Caster Recursive
Alester Crowley

As mentioned before this has to do with the 6th Holy Grail War.

>Avenger First
The Dominator (Combined Zodiac Killer & Perseus)
>Avenger Second
Lawrence of Arabia
>Avenger Third
Catherine de’ Medici

Avengers in this canon are created by the counter force to attempt to influence the Holy Grail war. There is also a single Ruler for the 10th Holy Grail War, but I haven't discussed that war yet.

>Ruler
George Washington

>Ruler
>George Washington
Literally why?

The 10th Holy Grail takes place in New Orleans. Also it makes much more sense than a literal peasant girl.

>when Girls Und Panzer used the Maus

>Also it makes much more sense than a literal peasant girl
Well, yeah, Jean is also trash as ruler, but still.

>tfw Medea is unironically my favorite servant
>she's a 3* in F/GO so that means I easily got her to 5NP and she's pretty good against enemies that buff themselves

That said, I would love to see a Kuzuki servant. I'm kinda disappointed that they haven't really done anything with him. I don't he's even a craft essence.

>pick a vidya character to be your servant
What would be his or her class?
