Let's be honest, aside from the visuals this game is garbage. It's just a 30 min boss rush with some awkward platforming in the middle. Having to fight a ton of bosses with nothing in-between is just bad and lazy design.
Let's be honest, aside from the visuals this game is garbage...
Git gud, nigga.
Nothing to do with difficulty. The game is easy since there's no real difference between the difficulty of the bosses themselves actually. It's just badly designed. Should've been a proper platformer instead.
tl;dr if I wanted to have some retard yelling buzzwords near me I'd visit your mother at the brothel.

Git gud
Hope the user who requested this sees it. I just finished it.
GOD I FUCKING HATE BONBON
>aside from the visuals
The entire point of the game IS the visuals though; it's the reason the game took so long to make, getting the visuals just right. In Cupheads case the gameplay is merely a vehicle to allow you to experience the artstyle and overall atmosphere of the game. The gameplay doesn't need to be anything great, it just has to be good enough to get carried by the artstyle.
This game deserves all the success its getting and more Devs need to go with this type of artstyle.
It's good but clearly carried by the art style. I thought the run and gun level parts would have led to the bosses instead of just being solitary nodes by themselves.
The visuals are wasted on a badly designed piece of shit.
>more Devs need to go with this type of artstyle
You vastly underestimate what percentage of the dev time was the artstyle. It is by far the most complicated thing about the game; everything else could be done in a month. The visuals have absolutely insane fluidity and detail. You simply cannot replicate this as a small indie dev; the only reason it exists at all is because of the big dick MS funding.
It's certainly a one-of-a-kind game. We aren't going to see anything like it in a long time. Which is why it's disappointing to see it's visuals were wasted on bad game design. They could've just made the game a proper platformer instead. It would be much, much better.
Please go be an assmad baby on Reddit or something. Or on Sup Forums, because there's near universal consensus among every actual video game forum in existence that the gameplay is great.
Another example of this would be Skullgirls - extremely detailed hand animation caused it to have an extremely long and arduous dev cycle, with the final product being rather mediocre because all their resources went to the visuals. As far as visual media, genuine 2D animation is probably the hardest to get right and certainly the most time-consuming.
I just literally bough cuphead, played for 40mins and beat 5 bosses in that time and two of those platforming levels. I was expecting more of this game but it really just is too easy. All the critics and hype and media was pointing to the direction that it would be hard, but its not. Its just pure, okayish gameplay with no real challenge. All the bosses and levels I cleared were with all counters, coin and full health. Sure, I restarted once or twice on levels from some "artificial difficulty" but still too easy.
yeah you're real badass xD
I'm fully aware of how time consuming 2D animation is; it's actually far more difficult than even the most pristine and realistic of 3D because you don't have a fancy computer doing everything for you. I'd like it if more giant companies, or any company with lots of money, would fund Devs and give them time they need to craft gorgeous 2D games like Cuphead. You see what these indie Devs did, so imagine a full dedicated team with all the money and resources they need, along with a few years to work on a game like this?
I see people complain about the gamplay in Cuphead, which isn't even an issue imo as the gameplay is decent enough to allow you to enjoy the visuals, but with this artstyle becoming more popular in the gaming circle you'd get Devs with even better gameplay models replicating classic 30s cartoon artstyle with their game.
That's why I want this game to do well.
And?
no you didn't lol
yeah, just like metal slug and contra
I actually did. Im sorry if you are shit at video games and can't complete such an easy game as this.
Metal Slug and Contra have actual levels, not just a bunch of bosses.
>bragging on a Vietnamese cooking channel
I mean obviously you're making shit up to b8, but if you aren't what are you trying to prove?
Just telling my opinion that it is okay game but too easy what I was expecting from the media.
It's solid, and clearly made with love. It's not without flaws, such as randomized parry-able shit which actually counts towards scoring.
It's fun.
I beat all of that in about an hour, too. There's a couple bosses that gave me some trouble later on though. Ignore anything anyone says about game difficulty until you play it yourself.
People think that the train mission in San Andreas is hard.
I doubt it can be any harder than rayman 1 and I could manage to beat that game when I was like 8, so I believe you user.
>posting in threads you don't like
>not just ignoring them
>aside from the main appeal this game has
Well yeah, take any game's biggest strength away and it becomes nothing.
>Boss Rushes are bad
Did Punch-Out!! need a training montage for every fight?
>Having to fight a ton of bosses with nothing in-between is just bad and lazy design.
Why's that?
>Let's be honest, aside from the visuals this game is garbage.
The other way around
Media is at fault here of placing your expectations too high. Don't take it out on the game.
You're supposed to beat those 5 intro bosses and the platformers in around an hour you mong.
what said. Those game's levels lead to bosses, although had less of them. From the looks of it Cuphead seems more lenient than Contra or Metal Slug.
Couldn't they have made it without the goddamn run&gun? random enemy/parry placement and the bizarre 'perspective' of the smaller platforms just make this unenjoyable on the whole
Congratulations. You're better than the average Joe at this game. If you want some decent challenge, play the game with Extreme difficulty and get S from all the stages. And that's not too difficulty either if you're good at games.
I don't know what you've been smoking if you really believed Cuphead would be difficult like all the reviews say.
>Muh style
Fuck off you cocksucker. Game being pleasant as it's only good quality makes it a piece of shit.
Cuphead was always meant to be a bosh rush game. Run'n Gun stages were added later when they realized it's easier to sell it if people think it's your typical platformer game with cartoon art style.
