Not against e-celeb threads, but Pewdiepie is hardly even related to video games anymore. That's just one of things he's known for - maybe only about a third of his new content is game related.

As for your question, I dunno. He's generous, light-hearted, pretty 'anti-SJW', and speaks his mind a lot. Those are qualities that can get you places.

I didn't like his gaming videos. But his content is honestly better than most of youtubers that make that type of content.

But honestly speaking though, I've seen several of his videos, even though he might come off as cringy most of the time, most of his humor is made in irony. He tries really hard but at the same time, he doesn't try really all that hard. He essentially makes a fool of himself for his fans while just doing whatever he feels like doing, which is why his content is pretty random and out there. If he feels like doing something someone has already done, he will, if he wants to do something no one really wants to do, he'll do it regardless. Even stuff that would usually brand him as this or that, he just does it just because. He's at that point where he's got so many fans, he just feels like sharing his day or uploading some random thing out of laughs for his fans, regardless of whether it's bad or good. He got in hot water over the whole nigger thing, but that was merely out of pure idiocy from his part, which he even tried to fix later on, but was clearly out of his reach once that word got out.

Pewdiepie has the same attraction that draws in the ironic weeb crowd. He's an ironic letsplayer who's perfect for all the nihilistic viewers with a wicked sense of humor.
