Me, personally I don't plan to upgrade until 4K becomes widely accessible or when VR really catches up, depending which happens first. GPU is still capable of running almost everything at Ultra 1080p60Hz and dropping settings to High gives a huge performance gain without any discerning image quality drop. CPU is more than enough for everything I do, plus I run everything with a FPS cap of 59.993Hz.
Why is your GPU at 58c that's kinda hot if it's just idling
Ayden Price
Fans are off until 60ºC plus I'm watching a video using MPC-HC+Madvr NGU-AA High 640x480 to 1680x1080(4:3) It usually idles at 40ºC.
Ayden Powell
Me gay. Just bought a 1080 and I plan to run it alongside my fury nitro for science. Getting more ram today and I'll probably get another CPU soon Doesn't look like it's completely idle. Might've been doing something while loading speccy
Zachary Sanders
Anyone know why speccy only shows 2gb for my 6gb 1060?

Im looking at the new Coffee Lake CPU's, and im wondering, is there any reason for me to spend any money above the new i3-8350k?
It has quad core, it has high clock speeds, if you're lucky it can go up to 5 ghz. It performs extremely well in games and there aren't many instances where the extra cores help out from the i5 and i7.
I'm upgrading from an 4790k.
Joseph Russell
it says 6gb right there.
Leo Lee
It's a bug with speccy, does it for me as well.

>is there any reason for me to spend any money above the new i3-8350k? Do you need more than 4 threads? For the vast majority of computer users the 8350K should be plenty.
Ryder Smith
Are you retarded? i3-8350k is not faster than a 4790k
Dylan Rodriguez
eh i had a similar pc t hen i went to this
cpu stock g1 at 2050mhz core ram at 2933 stock timings need to fiddle with it once the xmp issues are sorted
Jonathan Smith
Why does you ram only shows 15GB?
Camden Lee
I only plan to upgrade when I get a 1440p/144Hz monitor. Probably a Ryzen 5 1600 and a 1080 or the gen after. This shit still runs everything maxed that isn't optimized like a wet turd at 60fps and older games at 1440p or 4K downsampled. The 290 is the best card I've owned since the 9800 and has aged like fine wine. My 8350 meme CPU isn't as shit as people make it out to be. The only games it performs like shit in are Skyrim and GTAIV.
Samuel Phillips
pls rate
Isaac Richardson
Why own only a 1080p/60Hz monitor when you have a 1080?
Evan Nguyen
No clue, might be a bug since I pirated it and it's an old version.
Nathan Butler
>windows 8 damn user youre such a fucking faggot holy shit
Caleb Allen
Why would you pirate speccy? It's free

6/10. Need to upgrade that GPU.
Eli Edwards
to what? GPUs are so fucking expensive right now
Jonathan Price
Because there's a pro bundle install. It installs the pro version of cc, speccy, defrag, and the other program with one key. It's 8.1, not 8. I'm gonna dual boot win 10 once I get moved out unless you have a better suggestion.
Oliver Clark
d-don't bully pls

>6g >he fell for jewvidia meme again they just effectively use 2GB and count it as 2GB x triple data rate of memory used. Congrats on buying a meme card again.

A 580 or 1060 is great for 1080p.

I need to upgrade my motherboard soon as it's bottlenecking my RAM. Otherwise I'm all set for the next 2-3 years.

>4 cores >set for 3 years
Colton Jones
When I built this in 2015 I intended to upgrade slowly as new hardware came out but then it runs everything fine anyway so I've put it off. I only added the GPU last year. Regret is not buying full 16GB of ram when an 8gb sticks were still $40. No ssd because I was waiting for better m.2 nvme price.
Jacob Long
>any game needing more cores than 4 when consoles don't use more than 4

ps4 and sbone literally have 8 cores you tech illiterate

I had 980TI, was planning on upgrading when 1100 series are out, but then got 1080 via warranty after 980TI fans died (asus matrix). Sweet, now I can stall at least until 1200 series.
Parker Mitchell
Same monitor as me, kinda regret it though because 28in feels too small for 4k

haven't found a game yet I can't max out at good (70fps+) framrates. 110-120fps in the Battlefront 2 beta.
It is slightly bottlenecked by the CPU though.
Jaxon Johnson
>tfw i don't even hear my gpu fans under full load and under the same load i don't even reach your idle temperature
Eli Edwards
70+ fps only? Quite disappointing actually. >110 fps in BF2 beta Well yeah Frostbite is just a great engine and well optimized. I get 80-90 fps in that game. I'm It's a shame AMD dropped the ball so hard on Vega.
Hudson Lewis
Only 4 of there designed for use in video games, the rest are very low power ones that are used for other stuff.
Adrian Barnes
Yet their CPU's are so weak they bottleneck the entire system which is why they're STILL incapable of maintaining 60 fps.
Thomas Campbell
how is 70fps minimum disappointing especially considering it's paired with a 6 year old CPU?
Justin Butler

i5 6600K @ 4.3Ghz and GTX970
Not really worth upgrading right now so I'm going to hold out with this for a while longer. Single-core speeds for newer CPUs are just marginally faster so not much help with emulation, and even with an expensive GTX 1080 Ti I wouldn't get rock-solid 60fps in 4K without thumbing of the graphics.
Asher Hughes
that's ironic

Brand new build. Figured I would try the Ryzen instead of the intel. Still have my i7 with my 970 for backup.

I wanna play Yoshi's Woolly World on CEMU.
Here are my specs. It lags a lot, when stuff is loading I can have 5 to 30 secondes lag, and FPS dips. Ingame, CPU is never above 70% and RAM always around ~5gb. Is the problem with the GPU? I can run Super Mario 3D World and DKC Tropical Freeze without any problems. (And I have played current year PC games like Nier Fatoumata without any problems with these specs.)
Is the problem with the emulator or do I have to buy a new GPU? And is this one good enough: EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti SSC GAMING ACX 3.0, 04G-P4-6255-KR, 4GB GDDR5, DX12 OSD Support (PXOC)
Thanks.
Angel Foster
CPU is too slow.
Noah Cook
but it's not. maybe it's 10% faster in single threaded benchmarks, but it has only 4 threads and is 20% slower in multithreaded benchmarks. In modern games this leads to lower minimum framerates and perceived stuttering.
i3-8350k is not a reasonable upgrade for anyone.
Jaxson Morgan
Never goes above 50-70% usage of CPU. Pretty sure it's the GPU, isn't it? I bought it in 2013 for 120$ lol.
Kevin Lee
Intel Core i5-7500 Kaby Lake Quad-Core 3.4 GHz LGA 1151 65W BX80677I57500 Desktop Processor Would that be enough? (What can I do with the previous one, is it resellable?)

I don't have my Speccy but
AMD FX-4200 @ 3.9ghz via FSB
MSI R9 280 3GB @ 1100 / 1575 core and memory
8GB G.Skill RipJaws X @ 1013mhz effective (800mhz stock)
1TB Seagate HDD
SeaSonic 620W PSU
It was a $550 budget build, and I didn't know nearly what I know now then. I've overclocked literally everything I can to try to make it better, but best I can get in most games is 1080p/high 30fps. My CPU isn't even meeting minimum reqs for games anymore, and even with my FSB OC it's still painfully underpowered. Can't wait to get a decent CPU and apply what I've learned to it though. I have the fastest 4200 ever benched (which in fairness is like being the smartest kid with Downes Syndrome), so I'm pretty confident I can get a very solid boost to speed when I have a decent chip
Josiah Morris

probably because it hasn't been cleaned since the day it was purchased.

My desktop kinda burnt out from being on 24/7 for about 4 years. It can't play games higher spec than Dota, even on lowest, and can only stay connected to the internet for more than 5 minutes.
I'm using the laptop I bought for uni 7 years ago. It does it's job
Colton Collins

What's the name of the mobo needed for it and how expensive is it?

Your laptop is gonna fail soon. I ran my old one like that for about a year then it literally caught fire.
Julian Phillips
It's been going for almost 7 years now like this. I'll buy a new desktop when this finally punks out
Parker Bennett
I wanted to get the 1060 but because of gpu prices being fucked at the time, I opted for the 970 instead. While I don't regret the purchase, I am noticing some mountain flicker in Skyrim compared to when I was trying to play it with Integrated Graphics.
Robert Foster

>Buying an i7 4790 for double the price, if you could take a similiar Xeon that has almost everything similiar. Granted Xeons normally don't come as good CPUs, but sometimes you find one, which is comparable to a consumer cpu. Especially good if you don't care about OC.
