Undertale is far easier

Cupheads easier than Rabi-ribi but casuals gonna be casual.

Much like Dark Souls, his fight was built up as difficult by the fanbase. Expectation goes a long way into how difficulty is perceived.

Cuphead is a difficult game from start to finish - that's one of the main selling points.
Sans was an "optional" boss, as in you had to actively try to reach him in order to live that one tough battle. But since casuals probably stuck with the normal or pacifist routes, they didn't need to complain.

undertale gives players several chances to make the game easier
