Jesus Christ, poor guy....
Early access is a blight on the corpse of gaming.
>There are no better Con Men in gaming.
normally Sup Forums speak in unrealistic hyperbole but this is actually 100% objectively true

Do you think he regret it?
As a human being, how could anyone accept $30,000 from a complete stranger, whom is a fan. How could anyone sleep at night, knowing that they took that much money from someone that is chasing a non-existent version of the game?
what are those ships even? do people really pay 10k for a virtual ship?
By being delusional enough to believe their own bullshit.
There's a chance he's found a way to completely rationalize everything away, but there is an equal chance that when he's not careful and lets his guard down he starts hating himself.
Once you start a lie up like this, so massive and public, that also rakes in tons of cash, it's very hard to walk away.

HAHA holy shit they look identical
I've vaguely followed star citizens development for like 5 years now and I still don't get what you're supposed to do or why people are interested in it
does it have any actual content that isn't just flying around in ships or walking around stations/empty planets?
...
They'll cut your dick off for 60k. This shit is nothing.
Kek.
Post the 3.0 reveal one.
The one with the ship and truck
...
What was it again? 150 million dollars?
that poor M35 Mako
160 million dollars.
I like how he has this This fucking guy LOL look on his face.
Jesus fuck it reads like a goddamn checklist
I had an argument with some friends two weeks before this about how the entire game was a scam and was never going to be finished.
Poor guys, couldn't help laughing my ass off at this though.
>I had an argument with some friends two weeks before this about how the entire game was a scam and was never going to be finished.
I don't think it was an intentional scam. They started with sincere intentions. Then they got mroe and more money and they kept over-promising to keep the money going. The game will eventually "releasE", but years after it was promised to, and it will be bare bones compared to the promise.
>I don't think it was an intentional scam.
I don't disagree, but that ship sailed long ago. And buying ships for an unreleased game is no excusable.
Is there even a playable version? What are these "ships" that you can buy?
3.0 drops soon(tm)
3.0 just got released to the evocati. You will always be wrong, Derek.
>The eyes of autism
can't wait to experience this up close
It's amazing how hard that retard tries to stay relevant.
Maybe he should have spent that money on a hair transplant and some weight loss therapy.
ahahaha im gonna watch that episode now
Must have felt great being better than everyone there.
He's still trying to explain to his parents where the loan they gave him for a down payment on a house went.
Well I wasn't watching it with them. But yes, I do enjoy being right, and really, not at least challenging them to consider that they may be throwing their money away would be scummy.
This literally looks worse than Moonbase Alpha
molyneux came pretty damn close with curiosity
This is acutally brilliant. You get 150 million dollars and just pull a Grimoire on everyone until most of the userbase is bored of waiting. Take a look at the general forums, every thread has like 200-300 views max. Nobody sued them, nobody beat Chris Roberts up. I'd say, it's a win for them. They left like 10 people on the project, so they can never say that if failed.
Doesnt look too bad honestly, but its very clear that if THIS is what they ended up with after nearly 5 years, something went horribly wrong.
Why did they choose the shittiest engine possible that only the original developers of it were able to make anything out of (That performs like ass cancer too)?
Why did they promise a scope they clearly didnt think through?
The most embarassing thing here is that both NMS and Elite delivered on far more than Star Citizen did and both of them failed for different reasons ( Even after the updates NMS is just a boring game by design).
They had enough money to develop their own tech, thinking such a large-scale project with such a gigantic scope could be handled with someone else's middleware like a black box was the first sign of a person that has absolutely no idea what he is doing.
And i'm sure they wasted tons of money on pointless endeavors. Idiots. I would be fine with a game like Xenoblade X with the planetary scope of Mass Effect and some decent space combat and stations.
I gave up on this. Let's try again in 5 years.
>Why did they choose the shittiest engine possible that only the original developers of it were able to make anything out of
Because it makes pretty screenshots, you know, their main product
Not even. Unreal games look far better with post processed lighting. No one cares if you have dynamic real-time calculations, no one tells the fucking difference. My most enjoyable games this year were cell shaded and/or had baked lighting and cloth.
>0 (zero) star systems
>0 (zero) planets
>1 (one) proceduraly generated moon
I think it's supposed to be a space flying simulator with like a big galaxy or some such but only has like 3 planets as of now. Don't quote me on that though, I'm as lost as you are.
It was 5 years ago. Back then, CryEngine was enough to sell through photos alone. It wasnt a choice made from a technical point of view.
>Bow down to your king. There are no better Con Men in gaming.
3.0 just went to evocati tho and is by all accounts incredible. you'll be buying in by november, even if you don't know it yet
>Do you think he regret it?
He already got a refund. Clifford Miku and Wesha, the two $60K+ funders, have not however.
accidents happen, user
parp
But I pirate all games.
LMAO retarded buysfags.
You pirate MMOs?
you cant pirate sc
you can't legit play sc
OOOH THERE'S NO BREAD!
>dreams, dreams happen now
In a sense, he is telling the truth. They got dreams at the very least
EVO is out? And CitCon is in three weeks? Do you think it will go live by then?
I want it to succeed so bad. But I'm not giving him a dime. I've been burned one too many times on kickstarters and early access crap before. Also fuck the 'roguelike' elements of losing your ship. That's bullshit, if you spend 1k on a ship it should be yours forever. Insurance is even more bullshit, especially in a game.
You should give Koji Igarashi money instead.
>when your project checks off all of these
