Playing for the first time. What should I do first. I keep restarting because I feel like I'm not making the most of my time. Any tips?
Playing for the first time. What should I do first...
>I feel like I'm not making the most of my time
You wake up in the morning.
>water crops, make sure you've got at least one field of each available crop, this is important
>keep at least a handful of each crop in your chests
>keep at least a few of each item in the game, maybe apart from most of gems found in mines
>KEEP THOSE CHESTS WELL ORGANIZED
>pet the dog/cat and give it water
>gather shit from around the forest or go to mines.
>keep a calendar open to know whose birthday is next and give to them things they like or love. This is especially important because you cannot give them presents everyday and birthday present has enormous bonus to relationship
>shit on the beach can be very valuable in the beginning, go get it every few days
It's simple as that. To simplify it even further:
>crops
>mines/foraging
>sleep
Never go to sleep early, use your time to talk to people and forage if you are not mining. Mining can take entire day (hell, getting to the mines take half a bloody day), so plan out what are you doing.
I mean keep the gems, just not some stupid stuff like sandstone and other geode shit.
Is this game a good sort of replacement for Terraria?
Don't worry about time, there is nothing forcing you to do anything in this game. Just enjoy it and do whatever you want
>keep restarting … not making the most of my time
The fucking fuck? There is literally zero time pressure in this game.
Kind of is. It's not the same, but should keep you engaged for a while.
LIES. After two years you get evaluated.
Upgrade your axe till it's iron, then find the hidden forest. Harvest the shit out of the stumps until you can build a stable. The horse is a godsend. Saves you so much time.
Get the Jas marriage mod so you can avoid the thots
The evaluation means nothing, and then the game continues
Get out of here, you kidfucker.
There are mods that give bachelors and bachelorettes much better portraits, though. I would recommend those
Will keep in mind, thanks.
You cant miss anything, so dont worry about misusing time
its not like harvest moon where it just fucks you at the end with little warning
This is our board, normalfag
You can get re-evaluated if you place a diamond on the altar iirc, so it means nothing really. Diamonds aren't that hard to get
Also you can trigger a new evaluation whenever you want afterward. So seriously, play at whatever the fuck pace you want.
>You cant miss anything
Technically true, but it can take up to 2 years to collect some recipes if you missed them on TV the first time around.
You can get some of those recipes elsewhere, but yeah check the TV every day
>TV recipes
Those and seasonal fish/crops for bundles are the biggest time-sensitive things.
>This game
>On the switch
Is there literally anything more comfy?
>making most of your time
you literally have unlimited time
you have infinite time
focus on the community center, the greenhouse is god tier
berries like strawberries, blueberries and cranberries make by far the most money per crop so plant 'em wide and plant 'em early
i played like an idiot and i still got the highest tier rank in my year 3 evaluation so anyone can do it
Any must have mods for it?
You're playing it wrong. There is no time limit, just relax. And the "evaluation" in two years can be redone at any time later by sacrificing a diamond at the altar.
Quit it and start playing Harvest Moon instead.
The one that automatically opens and closes your barns except for when it's raining or winter.
Easier fishing is a good one. I love this game but the fishing system can absolutely go fuck itself
This, this game is shit if you can't get best girl
I enjoyed the fishing in this game once you get a handle on it. Some of the rare fishes can be absolute hell though.
I noticed you can only get certain abilities when you reach level 5 for a skill. I just hit that for fishing and took selling fish for more money. Any of the other skills I should prioritize for long term gameplay?
so is this just a better version of those facebook games like farmville or what?
double foraged items from foraging 5 and top quality for foraged items at foraging 10, everything else is basically up to you
Most of the rare fishes aren't even that bad, it's just the few that are in places where you'll catch a hundred pieces of junk for every bite (and then the fish gets away).
Its only like farmville in the sense that it has farming in it
I took selling fish for more money, and while it was useful in the beginning its completely useless later once you get the farm up and running.
What game or combination of games would best describe it?
I heard it's a lot like Animal Crossing, which is great, but the fact it's made by Chucklefuck concerns me.
>the fact it's made by Chucklefuck concerns me.
It's only PUBLISHED by Chucklefuck. Otherwise, they had no hand in it.
As for the game that would best describe it, it would have to be Harvest Moon/Rune Factory.
It's like animal crossing, harvest moon, rune factory, games like that.
animal crossing is a lot work oriented and more neighbor oriented. You can't really do much with anyone in stardew valley besides gift them things. Which is fine I always find the social aspects of farm games forced and tiresome.
a lot less*
I guess so, although you can do thing with neighbors once your relationship gets high enough
not OP but I know what he's talking about. I'll play for a couple seasons and then feel like I'm not doing things as efficiently as I maybe could be or I'm behind (compared to what? I do not know) so I stop playing
I guess I can understand that, but I personally gave up on trying to be efficient after a little while
What's the best crop to farm?
Also genderbent Alex is best bachelorette.
Yeah I have a hard time relaxing in general so the game really wasn't for me
Once you get the greenhouse up and running just pack that shit with cranberries
...
If it wasn't a terrible fucking port, yeah.
There should have been touch screen implementation instead of this shitty pseudo-mouse that only works half the time.
I hope to christ they patch it
IKNOW no one fucking uses the god damn touch screen even when they have mobile versions of whatever port. Anyone also getting a sort of popping in the left speaker? I thought it was just my switch then I put it in the tv same deal. Tried another game gone.
