That theme is the only reason I have the 20th anniversary theme in my PS4
>That hint of underlying mystery and wonder in the tune calling you to explore the game you're about to play
I reminds me of that great feel I'd get as a kid when I saw the game's title quietly pop up on a black screen after the intro, and the darkening effect games had to hide the horizon. It's the cherry on top of the cake.
I miss this.
>yfw
>parents got me a second hand fucked up version of the ps1 as a kid
>it rarely made it past the start up
>this noise now always gives me ptsd
doesn't really matter when the hardware resulted in some seriously fucking ugly polygon graphics. the games look really good on an emulator when they don't have to shake uncontrollably
Startup sounds suck, shop music is where it's at.
The startup theme, Crash Bandicoot, and Nobody Can Stop Mr. Domino is all it's good for.
Didn't even own a ps2 or play much of it when it was new but it has the best start-up sound imo

AND SPYRO, YOU BITCH!
ALSO ORIGINAL GRAN TURISMO!
Hacked wii + ps2 in a crt with component cables is the best combo ever. At least I'm really enjoying the unlimited backlog.
I fucking hated 5th and 6th gen start-up and BIOS screens (not sure if that's the right term, pls no bully). Something so unsettling about them.
Why would you bother playing games on a hacked wii when Dolphin is one of the strongest emulators for a modern system around
shiiiiiit. Threads like these keep making me want to buy a fresh new ps1 (if you can even find one) and a bunch of oldies and revel in nostalgia.
I must resist.
GC was the opposite of unsettling.
Which sound comes after that, Sup Forums?
>Oboe leads like the God-tier instrument it is
Don't forget to buy a PVM monitor while you're at it.
