Battle Network series. Any other answer is just wrong.

Zero

BN was the best but SF has the best Megaman design.

Classic series had the best consistency
Zero had the best gameplay

First post best post as usual.

Legends will always be my favorite.

The one that looks most like a girl.

Legends

star force might not be the best but it's the most underrated/overlooked

All of them

Zero is the best platforming one though

It's a tie between Battle Network and Zero.

Better question, which one had the best design?

X is my personal favourite
Fuck Zerofags though

Which one had the best artstyle?

Pre-4 Battle Network

as someone who only played half of the fist game, what changes art wise after 3? I thought they all looked the same from the shots I've seen

legends, all the rest were pounded into dust

Either Legends or Zero.

SF if by artstyle you mean stuff like portraits and promo art but if it's the actual sprites then ZX but BN looks the comfiest

Zero

1-6 on NES
Pure gameplay, no bullshit. X and Zero made the player model way too big in comparison with the rest of the screen, negatively affected gameplay IMO.

Man now I'm just depressed about MML3 and Megaman Universe being cancelled again

Zero>Classic>X>ZX

What did you guys think of Megaman X Command Mission?

Geo looks like he's fucking seen some shit.
4 redesigned the look of the games with smaller sprites and more rounded designs for the maps and everything.

Got robofus in there so I think it's great..

Zero > Battle Network > Legends > Classic > X > ZX > Star Force

Considering that image is from like a week before they both died, you're not alone.

One of the better JRPG's I've played. I liked the action trigger and force metal systems and would like to see them expanded upon if there was ever a sequel (see: never).

>4 redesigned the look of the games with smaller sprites and more rounded designs for the maps and everything.
Tbh I always liked the BN1-3 sprites more.

I haven't touched the legends games yet, are they that good? from what I've seen, they look rather stiff to play.

...

To be fair, the dude saw one of his friends "die" in front of him twice with Luna and Ace awhile before canonically transforming into Black Ace/Red Joker

I could never get into Classic.
My only experience with it as a kid was Megaman & Bass on the GBA.
It wasn't until ZX and Zero that I got into the side scrolling side of the series. The high speed gameplay being ingrained into me would make it impossible to ever truly enjoy Classic.

.EXE > Starforce > Classic > Volnutt > X

megaman and bass is honestly one of the worst games to start with for the classic series in the first place. not that the game is bad but it's a real casual filter

Legends has the most delicious MegaMan design of all of them.

The controls for the first game are a bit stiff, but it's easy to get used to with the auto aim.

You'd think it would hurt less after all these years
You'd think I'd be mentally prepared when it comes up in every Sup Forums megaman thread
But here we are and my hatred of Capcom is renewed once more

Remember that time they were going to make a weird megaman fps?

>TGS 30th Anniversary conference was a bust
>Comic Con gave us nothing
Oh well at least there's Gunvolt. It's all but guaranteed IntiCreates are making a third but after getting my hopes up last week I need it now.

/thread

I wish gunvolt's central mechanic didn't center around boring close range force fielding instead of say, melee combat like in zero.

Just play as Copen then. Dude's a speedy, dick smashing bastard.

They better keep Copen as a playable character in 3.
Also, Nova did nothing wrong. I hope he pulls a Copy X Mk2, except not as a stuttering retard.

He's not playable in the first game though

Glad this was cancelled, looks like shit

legends

EXE is the most fun with the most stuffs to do. Zero is the best side-scroller

This

The funny part about Battle Network is that it's turning out to be a prophecy.
We laughed at the stupidity of absolutely everything being online, but that's exactly what is happening right now.
The point of no return was crossed when online toasters started being sold.

best Megaman is purely baded on nostalgia for whatever kind of kid you were
Gba kid? Zero.
Old kid? X.
Older kid? Original.
Autistic loner kid? .Exe
100% all there is to it

The art changed somewhat with BN2 but mostly stayed consistent since then, however the sprite style changed entirely after BN3 to make it more in-line with the anime or something.

Legends was my first, but I don't consider it the best.
Nostalgia goggles is a meme made up to cope with the loss of a genuinely superior past, similar to sour grapes.

fpbp

X became my favourite because growing up I had the X collection for the gamecube

X Collection didn't have 7 or 8 did it?

Only X through X6

Classic, Zero, and BN

Where does ZX and SF fit in?
