>Ultra Instinct
Is that like Spider Sense for Goku?
I guess Samus has the "dodge" ability in Other M.
Doom Guy always wins, baby.
>Ultra Instinct
Is that what its called? HEre I thought it was just going to be super saiyan black or some shit. What makes that form so special?
It's some sort of awakened form even gods have a hard time reaching. Even Whis was amazed.
its goku's saitama form
So basically its bullshit? Is he somehow still weaker than Beerus?
Is that why Whis was amazed and Beerus was shitting Bricks ? Goddamn son.
>Hatkid.
No plz shes too innocent to die.
It's called "mastery of self-movement."
We don't know. He choked after he absorbed the energy of his Genkidama which backfired on him, but that ran out of energy.
*ding dong* hello sir, we have a box for you
He's stronger than Beerus all the Gods were surprised
I kinda misexplained that one, let me collect my thoughts.
Goku used the Genkidama against Jiren, who sent it back without breaking a sweat. As a desperation move and kinda on accident, Goku absorbed the power of the attack, and, while that depleted all his energy, the absorbed Genkidama gave him enough power to reach this state. However, it's like how he couldn't master Super Saiyan God at the time, and he / the Genkidama eventually ran out of energy. Goku's not out yet, but is in a really poor shame.
>This thread again
I fucking hate Goku
poor shape*
I really should read twice before posting when I'm that excited. Call me a kid I don't give a shit, that really brought me back to the DBZ days.
>another character said it's cool so it must be cool!
Aren't you tired of this shit yet?
wut
Enjoying things is prohibited, now?
Sounds dumb.
>Chadhan
Once he's done playing with him he'll mop the floor with goku.
I mean this specific narrative technique that Toriyama has been using UNCEASINGLY for like 30 years now. He doesn't show you why it's cool. He just has someone else explain it.
Aren't you sick of it? Because I sure as fuck am.
Do you know where you are
>Aren't you sick of it
Nope. I didn't need Whis to explain the transformation to me to be excited, I was as soon as we got a first person shot of Goku going for Jiren.
Can we talk about the important shit, like how Jiren and Goku's Ultra Instinct better be DLC in Dragon Ball Fighter Z.
Where to watch funimation is down
So now that super saiyan god has been surpassed what are the odds we will get to use it in xenoverse 3?
no matter how cool something is there is always someone to bitch and moan about it
every single time without fail 10 people can be talking 9 will think something is cool but there is always that 1 fuckstick that has to get on a soapbox and bitch until people don't even want to talk about it anymore.
fuck sakes
Man, as much as I'd love it, it's probably not happening for AT LEAST a year, if it does.
Crunchyroll / 9anime / kissanime.
>unlocks new form that shocks even the gods
>still jobs at jiren
Just what the fuck is that ayyy lmao?
CR isn't working for me either, guess i'll try 9anime thanks.
It's just the shit Whis has been trying to teach Goku and Vegeta since RoF; that whole thing about allowing their bodies to move without needing any input from their minds. Getting bitchslapped by his own spirit bomb just knocked it into Goku for some reason.
he ran out of mojo same shit happened with cat guy
he'd better watch these wrist rockets
>Implying even UI Goku can avoid the wrist rockets
Goku is much stronger than Beerus now. This turn of events has given Goku a power boost like no other.
My point is that nothing cool happened at all, though. The audience was told by a secondary character that it was cool, rather than letting the VISUAL GODDAMN MEDIUM of animation speak for itself.
I'd go as far as to argue that the fights now are far less visually engaging than they were back in OG Dragonball. We're not seeing anything different whatsoever.
No, we aren't. That's why we're still watching Super.
So is this the next ultimate form that can't be surpassed because it's so ultimate but will be surpassed by the new ultimate unbeatable form in a few episodes? Is the Price of Manlets Vegeta getting it at least?
Okay party pooper, whatever you say. People totally pretended to be excited when Goku grabbed Toppo and Dyspo and flung them like little bitches, only to walk slowly towards Jiren while not giving a shit about the thousands of beams Toppo was shooting.
He didn't just run out of power. His final attack was completely ineffective once Jiren actually powered up and caught his punch, which is what the red aura around him signified. After his attack failed then his aura went away. AYYY remains unbeatable by Jobku and it will be up to Gohan to end things.
what do you want them to do just show blurs going around the screen or a blank screen because they have gotten too fast for them to animate it? dudes are punching, kicking, and throwing shit at each other how else do you show that? they show the destruction they cause but they can't go overboard with that or they will punch the earth and it will explode, literally what else can they do except this? goku is slapping gods around now literally how else can he show how strong he is by punch kick and throwing shit?
t. Gohan
How does it feel to get cucked by a wrinkled yardrat with instant transmission abuse
Who says they were pretending? I believe they were being genuine. My question about them being sick of it was rhetorical, because clearly they're not. We, the collective audience of Dragonball, are stupid as fuck for falling for this same weak narrative crutch over and over and over and over and over again.
And I remember what it was like to be swept up in the hype. I was dumb as hell once too. But how many times are we going to keep letting them get away with not ever really SHOWING why a character is strong? It's always telling. Constantly. Every goddamn time.
I just want to know where the limit is. How long are we going to let a media empire built on lies persist?
How is it dumb to like things? Jesus christ, dude, talk about being a jaded fuck.
Come up with a new way of defining what the fuck ki is. Break all the established rules and start fresh. Give different characters different abilities so that defeating an opponent is more a matter of strategy than a matter of glowing brighter.
So this new form is basically just what Whis was talking about in this scene, right?
This is a form with perfect awareness that just acts on instinct without thought
t. Jobkufag
Gohan is already confirmed to be the survivor, and Jobku the limit breaker. The new form didn't do shit once Jiren actually got serious, and Gohan is confirmed to be getting a newer, even better, form before the tournament is over. He will use said form to beat Jiren and save U7.
>cocktease the snowflake form
>somehow hit is going to deal with jiren
Go to bed, Plague.
Pretty much, yeah.
We'll see about that. Toriyama stated at the start of Super that he had no intention of having Goku ever surpass Beerus.
Yes, except Toei hasn't even mentioned this shit since RoF.
>the absorbed Genkidama gave him enough power to reach this state.
Wrong. The Genkidama just restored his energy, the shock of the whole ordeal pushed him into that state.
Hit has been shown to get more and more powerful as seconds go when fighting stronger opponents, so it's not really a surprise.
I feel like you're deliberately avoiding answering my point. It's not dumb to like things. But it is dumb to like a thing that is deliberately squandering its potential out of sheer laziness and hackneyed writing. You're being milked because it makes you feel like you're 12 again. How long are you going to keep letting them do it? How long are you going to keep accepting mediocrity?
Naw, Goku is going to heal up for a bit and get his energy back and then go for round two. The fact that he didn't fall off the stage means that Goku will fight again.
I think the thing with Frieza at the end of the episode is sort of a fakeout where Frieza is going to give him some energy or heal him up somehow.
So is this more powerful than SS Blue or is it just a bullshit transformation we'll never see again?
What point? You don't have one, if people enjoy things, there's no reason to change what's going on.
>He doesn't show you why it's cool. He just has someone else explain it.
Except every transformation is followed up by a showcase of the new power so you're wrong as it is.
What was your opinion Sup Forums? At least for me I loved the episode.
Ep 110 is literally showing Goku using "Ultra Instinct" against someone.
I thought it was great. Good choregraphy, excellent soundtrack, the two of them together made for one of the best episodes since the original Super Saiyan transformation.
the power still wasnt strong enough if he had more time he wouldve won because he was adapting to his new form, but at the same time his new power's juice was running out.
They go back and forward when it's about the plot. I would say Toyotaro is able to do more foreshadowing because he is in more direct contact with Toriyama.
It's more powerful then Blue since it made Jiren actually try against it. We'll probably see it constantly from now on, since the same happens to all Gokus forms.
Kinda like how everyone thought Blue was special at first, but he uses it almost every fight.
honestly just seems like you are being contrary to the normal audience for attention. if you don't like this show go watch GT or something else but coming in here just to bitch about the episode the rest of us enjoyed is bullshit, like you are just a miserable fuck who wants everyone else to be miserable too.
HORSE.
SHIT.
How was it different VISUALLY from any previous powerup? You've been watching the exact same episode for 20+ years. Just with a new color of glowing every now and again.
Rather than being a new form, it seemed more like it was just a new style of fighting. He was fighting with pure instinct. Even if the silver eyes form doesn't stick around, I think we'll be seeing that element of his fighting style in future forms
It's more than 20 times stronger than SSB, and it's most likely a permanent upgrade, so we'll be seeing it a lot.
that's the typical mindset of Sup Forums posters to be honest
UNTZ UNTZ UNTZ UNTZ UNTZ
>this entire animation
I know nothing of super, is Goku being mentored by a gay god person to defeat beerus? Is he okay with it? from what i've seen i dont really understand the whole beerus thing
I had a lot of fun. The new form was less of a new form and more Goku learning a new skill which I'm happy with. Jiren was a great object to force Goku into such a situation but he is by far the most boring and uninteresting antagonist in the history of this series and that includes the movies. Roshi stated it the best "He's strong. Plain and simple." Too bad that's all he is. Maybe this will get fixed later in the anime or in the manga but as it is now he's shit and even Toppo would have been better character-wise.
>How was it different VISUALLY from any previous powerup?
Aside from the part where he VISUALLY doesn't take any hits and effortlessly evades or parries attacks?
A thing that no form previously has done so far?
Nothing.
Do you think Beers will power up now and bitch slap the other God's like he did in the manga?
Can someone explain why power levels don't mean anything anymore in Super
>new form is just godspeed from Killua
toriyama pls
Because they were honestly a stupid concept in the first place, and I wish the Saiyan saga never introduced this shit.
scouters don't work because they can't read power levels of people who can suppress their power level
Because it never did in the entire series
It's too early to say if the power is enough to beat Beerus. Here's what we know. Whis said that Jiren is at least God of Destruction level. HOWEVER, he may not be the only one, as it's not yet confirmed that the Clown God was the one that beat Beerus at arm wrestling. Quitela was confirmed to be that God in the manga, meaning there is a chance that another mortal stronger than Gods is in U4. So for now U4 fighter>=Jiren=Beerus might be the pecking order. Now, none of the Gods were impressed by Goku's power, as much as they were over his mastery of the technique, meaning that Goku may not be on part with the Gods on power. Also we don't know if Jiren was serious or not during the fight with Limit Breaker Goku since he never changed his stoic nonchalant expression and he briefly powered up more at the end of the fight. For now, I'll say that Beerus is more powerful than Goku, but Goku has more skill.
His fighting style changed. That's more significant than a new color of hair for the 20th time
The last time Goku had a form transformation that actually changed how he fights was when he got Super Saiyan Second Grade in Perfect Cell Saga that made him stronger but slower. Literally ever other Goku form has just been "the same except now he's better"
Because power levels are fucking dumb
They've never meant anything. If you mean power scaling and power consistency, they simply decided to not care much to the frustration of almost everyone watching Goku or Vegeta job in SSJB.
>honestly just seems like you are being contrary to the normal audience for attention
First day on Sup Forums?
Believe it or not, I just want Dragonball to be better. I want it to be different. I want it to use its power, influence, and popularity to push its medium forward. To be held up as an example of doing at least one thing really well, be that writing or animation or pacing or whatever.
Well it does one thing really well. It is a prime example of "tell, don't show." And we're all suckers who keep believing what we're told.
So what exactly IS a power Level
Is ki like a fucking shield or something
Because no even Toriyama cares. For him it always has been like -This guy is stronger because I say so.
They never meant anything to begin with but now that Goku has better control of his Ki the whole idea of "holding back" riles up power levelfags.
No, technically it's not a transformation, and more like an ability.
It's just an ability that even the gods have a hard time achieving.
Beerus is a god of destruction, and has an angel assistant Whis. Whis is stronger then Beerus. Goku and Vegeta asks Whis to train them (which is who I'm guessing your calling the gay god person).
Goku says he wants to beat Beerus, but Beerus probably see him as a joke so don't care that Whis trains him.
Beerus is surprised whenever he progresses, but Toriyama likes to pull a bunch of bullshit to make Beerus always stronger then Goku. No matter what he does.
Well I was playing GM3 so tetromino. Last piece I placed was a square, and it was invisible (I whiffed it hard don't worry i'm no GM) so probably however long goku jerks it around, like he does every one of his opponents in dragonball Superfiller
Why would that be any good?
Toriyama fucking hates Dragon Ball and is just doing Super for the easy money.
A unit of measurement for a person's energy level. Does not take into account them holding back their energy, their skill, technique, etc.
>is ki a shield
Yes. It's used for basically any action you see that isn't doable by a normal person.
As far as Beerus is concerned, Goku and Vegeta will never reach his level.
anyone else wonder if jiren is actually the god of destruction who stepped down from the role to take part in the tournament? i mean Belmod is known for scheming and we know next to nothing about jirens past
You do know that power levels only mattered during the first 40 episodes of DBZ, right?
Ever since then it was just about who could get angrier.
Oh
so a mcguffin
I hope you like universe 6
ep. 111 - Hit vs Jiren
ep. 112 - Vegeta saves Cabba from being eliminated and teaches Cabba how to get stronger
ep. 113 - Kale and Caulifla protecting Goku from universe 3 then Kale and Caulifla vs Goku
ep. 114 - Kale vs Goku 2.0 Kale gets another berserker form
>Ever since then it was just about who could get angrier.
Which directly raised their power level.
