aside from SOMA, what are some good Sci-fi game with a good story?
Blade Runner 2049 really set me in the mood for Cyberpunk game and VR Dating sim

Did Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep even have a sequel?
...
who cares, blade runner is barely based on it
No, but the film very loosely based on it does.
What the fuck was with the religious leader VR shit in the books? I never made any fucking sense of it.
Have you tried the Shadowrun games yet? (sans 360 one)
Deus Ex, Human Revolution, Mankind Divided. Of course if you haven't played all of these already you are a PLEB and should GET THE FUCK OUT
>SOMA
>good story
I wish I was a cute giantess, even if it meant only being a hologram.
not surprising why this movie was a flop even though it stood out from generic capetrash or Michael bay writing trash these days have to offer
???
Retard
its box office crashed hard
The question marks were mostly in regards to this part
>not surprising why this movie was a flop
Personally I haven't seen the new movie but I have seen the original. I just like the giant hologram girl that I've seen pictures and clips of. She's super fucking hot and appeals to one of my biggest fetishes. Great hair, beautiful face, nice body.
>Budget: 150-185 million
>Box Office: 12.7 million
Holy shit
GITS failed
Bladerunner 2049 bombed
goodbye cyberpunk , there goes any hopes for Akira, Gumn, Neuromancer adaptations
Personally I didn't even know the movie was out yet. I thought the stuff I was seeing was from trailers.
Understand what Empathy is?
Replicants don’t.
Empathy is a huge theme in the book, it’s also the only thing that humans have to differentiate themselves from the otherwise superior replicants, therefore many rely on those boxes to feel those emotions that humans are bow used to just activate with that emotion machine.
For the same reason they adopt machine pets or some of the remaining normal pets. To feel something.
In the books, humans are quickly becoming as machines, while replicants more and more resemble better humans: that’s why finding differences with them is so important for humans, hence mercerism’s appeal.
Empathy is still an important theme for blade runners, since they have to suppress that to kill replicants.
The moment deckard fails to suppress his empathy, fugging an android, his whole world falls apart.
I think Neuromancer is better off without a film adaptation. Modern Hollywood would just butcher it to serve up a lukewarm experience which has none of the themes of the book in an attempt to appeal to a broader audience.
Ghost in the shell sucked ass though, this didn't
Dick had a huge hardon for dreams, hallucinations, visions and similar shit. something that makes us human. read ubik. the whole book is about stuff like this.
Looks like real life me me me girl
I'm glad. As much as I appreciate the aesthetic it really does more to glorify decedent nihilistic lifestyles now than how the genre and its precursors warned about its results
>tfw bowie was supposed to be jared leto
He's pretty obsessed with Jung too, and a lot of Gnostic concepts. VALIS is pretty much an extended essay about it.
well, jay, what did you think of blade runner 2049?
If you're talking about VR games in real life, wait until the Pimax 8K releases. Lots of people have tested it and say it's better than the Rift and Vive in many respects. Especially if you don't like motion control, because subpar controllers is the thing's main flaw.
Also, Oculus Connect is coming up and they'll probably tease their next headset.
But if you have lots of money and can't wait even though it's worth it, coming from someone with a Rift, Lone Echo is the best story driven Sci-Fi VR game out right now.

OH MAI GAWWWWWWWWD
Yes, but it wasn't written by Phillip K. Dick.
