Why isn't this game more popular?
Why isn't this game more popular?
What do you mean?
because its a single player game from 2004
people have already played it to death
Blame pirates.
It's pretty great. Could have been more fleshed out though. (Yes I know it's a remake from a really old game.) I'd love to have a Pirates! like game in a 3rd person enviroment though. With really in-dept ship and cargo management aswell as crew managment. That'd be great...
Did you play sea dogs 2?
what is it?
Sid Meier's Pirates! 2005 remake
pretty fucking good
Because it's a typical Sid Meyer's game.
Nice and entertaining for a few hours but way too shallow and formulaic for anything more than casual playthrough every now and then.
People simply go and pick the games it's insipired by if they want more of it.
That is, Pirates is nothing more than simplified Port Royale, so if you want more of that, get Port Royale.
Railoroads is a very pretty simplification of Railroad Tycoon. If you want more, you just get Railroad Tycoon.
this is a strategy game? i actually own the original pirates game from some bundle i think bundle stars. i liked civilizations revolution, would i enjoy this if i didn't like the pc civ series?
It's not a strategy, but has strategic elements. It's more rpg similar to mount and blade.
yes
see if you want more
>civ revolutions
>6 hour console MP games
>no one left
the singleplayer is loads of fun, thats really the only experience i have other than some of the best experiences with friends ive ever had on a console. its fucking great. also at max around 4 hours not 6, only really gets boring around 3 hour mark all my friends managed to stay as interested as i did that far in
was it? either way, for a online MP console game, it was remarkable both in how long the average game was and how consistent the playerbase was in finishing each game
There's this boat game called Windward, it's also pretty good
You missed the boat, sorry for the pun. About 10 years now.
because they took out the rts minigame when you invade cities
I hated having to go slow if you wanted to go to some specific parts of the map because of the wind
windward is fun for an hour or two but extremely simple and repetitive from my experience.
Needs a sequel or a port to newer systems.
Even Blood and Gold is way better than that.
fuck all replay value
>randomly
>generated
>adventure
I fucking hated this aspect of the game but I loved a lot this sequel/remake of the original
>Pass by ship and mouse over them.
>mfw
The only thing I remember clearly about this game is that the dancing was something I could never do. I could kill a man with practiced ease and repeatedly spamming the thrust attack and destroy boats in seconds but I couldn't fucking dance.
