I called it quits on Hard on Miriam, either you have to disable all perks and fight her underpowered or enable them all and have her acquire even more bullshit attacks

But I'm stuck on chapter 5
I can't seem to be able to beat Alraune, Kotri, Miru, or Lilith, despite trying all of them for hours at a time.

Not everything, a few of the perks aren't too bad to deal with.

Keep at it, the true final boss wouldn't feel right on any difficulty lower than hard. It took me several hours to get through it and it was a memorable fight to struggle against.

I won't help you then, the main story on Hard isn't much different in difficulty than Normal, only it gets increasingly bullshit after Noah.

Focus on one of them instead of trying everything. The patterns become much more manageable once you figure out their tricks. And if all else fails, look for the hidden powerups. Even though the bosses scale to your power levels, you'll generally be much better off with them than without.

Guess I have no choice but to git gudder then. How important did you find the upgrades in Miriam's shop during the main story? Before I was mostly using healing food as a crutch, so I haven't invested heavily into those.

Buy absolutely everything.

I'm in the midair battle against Lilith, and my autofire is dealing chip damage 3 at a time to Lilith during dialogue. Is it actually possible to kill her like this, or will she fully heal once I end the cutscene?

I left it shooting for like 5 minutes and when I left dialogue she had around 33% health left. She has pretty low health so that probably should have killed her, so I guess there's some sort of magic going on that stops her HP going too low during a conversation. Or maybe I just wasn't patient enough.
Either way, you can do a lot of damage to her. Assuming you can get the bug to trigger, at least. The first time I tried it it stopped me shooting like it's meant to so I had to try again. Not sure exactly what causes it.

Some are good. Kotri's makes it so using amulets only takes 75% of a charge instead of a full one, so it's pretty great. Seana and Nixie give you more damage so they're great too. The rest aren't as good, but they're still helpful.

Noah is better. I mean, Cicini's good, but Noah is still better. Forgotten Maiden not allowing you to just use whatever attacks you want is kinda annoying, but she's still the best.

The whole "made of goo" thing is a bit of a turn off. Also, twintails are shit tier.

Attack badges really make a difference, holy shit. I don't have to whale away for 10 minutes to take away 1/6th of their health anymore.

Attack is the single most important stat you can focus on, everything else comes second.

My first playthrough I just kept going trying to beat them with many failed tries even though it would have been a better idea to just go back and get stronger first. If you keep at it i'm sure you can beat her though.
