The Siren games to a small degree. Most of it is a decayed small-town japan (or like Hashima in 2), but it's peppered with the ocassional shrine.

There was some recent release with an cartoony/ anime style which might have more of that though. Reminded me of a more spooky Spirited Away. Don't remember the name though.

I've never heard of that game. It looks like what I'm looking for, and is developped by From Software so I'll try it. I've never played a From Software game that is not a Soulsborne or Armored Core game.
