Are the dwemer the neckbeards of The Elder Scrolls universe?
Are the dwemer the neckbeards of The Elder Scrolls universe?
Dunno if they are the neckbeards, but they are literally the only ones who could match a fucking god, zero-summing themselves and create something like Tonal Architecture to shape the reality itself.
They are literally the most based race in Nyrn, followed by the Dunmer.
Annnnnd they still fucked it all up and accidently poofed their entire race into the skin of a space robot
Are they part of the Numidium now?
I didn´t followed the lore since Morrowind. Don´t know if TESO made this shit up.
From what I remember it's fairly established without tes outright saying it. I'm sure someone can explain it better
But tldr, one dwemer fucked up while using the tonal thing to try and save his race from an attack (chimer?), he accidently bound the dwemer to their space robo Demi-god as its "skin"
It's a recurring theme for elves in tes, they always seem to fuck up in the end despite their "superiority".
...
they're like neckbeards crossed with hipsters
You actually recreate the circumstances of their disappearance in Skyrim.
A mage manipulates a soul gem to mimic properties of the Heart of Lorkhan, experiments on it with Keening and ends up bound to the nearest faux-Lorkhan it could find: The Dragonborn themselves.
That's... oddly accurate
>don't believe in best sellers (fiction&literature) from century ago
>the most technologically advanced of all race
>lol you are fat and grow beards from place that should not
Did King Dumac know what Kagrenac was planning with the Heart of Lorkhan? He seemed pretty out of the loop from what I got from it...
There's something very aesthetically pleasing about the sketchy TES artwork like this
What happened to Numidium though?
Was it powered by the Heart of Lorkhan?
The first one was powered by the heart until the tribunal gave it to tiber (they kept the heart) then a while later it shattered, dagoth built the second one which exploded when the nerevarine broke the heart.
So where is Numidium now?
>accidentally
That's debatable.
The first Numidium still exists because of a Dragon Break but is currently stuck outside of spacetime fighting Altmer mages until the 5th era.
What is it powered by if the Heart is gone?
The Mantella, a unique Soul Gem made from the essence of various Shezzarines (Lorkhan avatars)
Alright, so we could be expecting Numidium to return sometime in TES6?
Hopefully not.
Everytime it's left to its own devices it tries to unmake reality. Without a Shezzarine to command it, it would likely do so again.
So it's sentient?
Could but won't Bethshit are too scared to try anything crazy or not completely safe, the next TES will be Skyrim 2
>tries to unmake reality
Well that would tie in perfectly with the Thalmors ultimate goals, wouldn't surprise me at all if Bethesda tied that into the main plot.
I wonder what would happen to the dwemer though. Would they reappear with it or still be bound to it as its skin.
It's an advanced centurion with the voices of thousands of Dwemer constantly screaming inside its head. Does that count?
...
Thalmor want the destruction of the mortal realm so they can go back to being formless timeless spirits.
Numidium doesn't care about any of that. It would destroy all of Nirn, Oblivion, Aetherius and beyond.
Are there any fun Morrowind or Oblivion mods which involve the Dwemer?
Never really grasped this dream nonsense in TES.
How do people even find this out?
chim is a well documented phenomenon
But how was it documented in the first place?
...
>Guy achieves CHIM
>writes about it
I love the lore but always feel like the games don't do it justice.
Mad druggy dev ramblings
Not like they realized that would happen. Activating Numidium prematurely, the thing that made them disappear, was an act of desperation because they were losing the battle of red mountain to the chimer
Yeah, but to achieve CHIM you need to understand the dream/godhead so how would he have known of this?
Its always easier to write about cool shit happening than it is to code it into a piece of shit game engine
>grey skin
Dwemers are not Dumniggers.
Have you ever had a dream and halfway through realize that it was a dream? It's exactly like that, you don't know its a dream until you do. Or you just wake up (zero-sum)
True. Maybe one day we'll see the cool shit visualised in a worthy manner.
Vivec did some kinky shit with Molag Bal
Talos because he was retroactively part Lorkhan part Akatosh.
You also have people who know about CHIM but can't achieve it themselves
Why didn't that one old telvanni wizard clone Yagrum like he did himself?
because corprus?
...
Fuck you, the part where you guide the Imperfect trough the tunnels as he fires lasers from his eyes to erase any daedric invaders was great even if it was basically the Liberty Prime walk but with actual gameplay since you had to keep him powered up.
Out of game sure.
In game there three or four passing references to it.
The stuff that made it in game screws up the out of game stuff.
Tiber has CHIM and because of that the Thalmors plan to Remove him is doomed to fail.
MK has to deCHIM Tiber without deCHIMing the lore.
Enter the "Arcturian Heresy"
CHIM is the single worst thing MK has brought to the lore.
>spoiler
that actually sounds pretty neat
Nigga, the Arcturian Heresy was around in Morrowind too.
>tfw no Numidium animu
>TES6
>after the events of skyrim the dragonborn disappears
>you are Joe faggot and after a few quests discover you are a dragonborn
>a few gay training montage quests later and you/the blades/whatever faction find a way for you to mantle talos
>epicly gay quests about fighting off thalmor/gay daedric armies
>become the new emperor with some badly implemented city/empire building/managing post game shit
I'm indifferent to the lore and feel it shouldn't dictate the games.
He's the one who ordered kagrenac to try using Numidium to turn the tide against the chimer, so he probably didn't know shit about the heart or what kagrenac was doing with it

Tl;dr?
That is the tl;dr version
Your point?
After Skyrim MK reveals CHIM can be lost and the MKult starts pushing the Heresy.
MK wrote himself into a corner and this is his way out.
The way to test this is ask a simple question.
Did Tiber lose CHIM when the three became Talos?
The MKult will say yes.
There is no reason for him to lose CHIM because of this but C0DA needs it to happen for C0DA to work.
c0da's not canon fanwank. Ignore it.
It is generally harmless but it should at least remain consistent with itself.
This is their way of doing it.
>that greater bonewalker in the beginning
TRIGGERED
It can't be consistent when it basically states everyone's fanfiction can be canon.
Dagoth Ur did nothing wrong
*drains you strength*
then why even play the games
> He can't be killed
> I jump to the heart platform
> He jumps into the lava
He was an idiot that was beaten by a lack of guardrails.
He was trapped there for thousands of years did he just forget in a moment of excitement?
C0DAfags generally don't.
They wait for Trainwiz to tell them what Bethesda fucked over in C0DA.
no seriously
why play the games when you have such a fixation with linear canon? none of your actions mean anything. takes all the fun out of it
Does this happen to everyone?
>accidentally
no
Dwemer aren't even canon, they were invented after Daggerfall. Numidian is an artifact from aetherius, sorry numales.
Are you a retard? None of you actions mean anything in any fucking game because they're games. Show me what you have personally done by playing video games, demonstrate to me what tangible effect you have had on the world.
>Daggerfall
>lore
Pick one
You are supposed to follow the path around the edge that leads to the heart platform.
If you jump instead he jumps into the lava.
divayth fyr = daddy
The only ones concerned with "true" canon are the C0DAfags.
Bethesda's way of dealing with canon screws them over.
Did you kill the Emperor?
If so that happened.
Did you destroy the DB instead then that is what happened.
The Emp will still get assassinated just by the loli vamp, the clown, and Three Dog.
Some devs go with slideshows and then tell you what actually happened the next game.
Both have their drawbacks.
I prefer Bethesda's
C0DAfags do not.
How did a pickaxe get to the top of the world?
I just want to make sure i get the main points of the lore. So theres as elder god thats sleeping and everything is in their dream. Guys who realize this attain chim and are able to alter the dream. Its possible to confuse the dream and make it think youre someone else and thats mantling. Thats pretty much all i know besides some trivia like kajits are from the moon and redguards were sword autists.
Major points, what am i missing? I know i didnt mention the deadric princes bescause i forget how they fit in.
Does echo just mean existence?
What about the tiers?
daedra arent real
Ok you lost me now.
padomay isn't real and therefore daedra are not real. this is what sotha sil uses as a threat to the princes to keep them off of nirn directly. if he were to outright remind them they dont exist, they'd poof in an instant.
padomay is like anu's tulpa, and daedra are nothing more than schizoid shadow people out of the corner of your eye.
I hate this pretentious pasta because the Dunmer weren't wrong, everything about Mundus is a lie.
Undeniably, yes. Pic related.
CHIM
Alright im sort of following. I dont remember padomay but i want to say theyre something in the dream, like another dream. Sotha sil is a mystery. Anu is another thing in the dream and nirn is the dream world maybe
Dunmer are the best race indeed, but I don't see what their philosophy has to do with "mundus being a lie".
That's being rather obtuse though, "not real" in the TES universe is rather different to something being "not real" in our universe. They're very much "real" by any normal meaning.
unfortunately real enough to the races of tamriel, but still "not real". padomay exists in nothing more than anu's mind, created out of loneliness. if something were to shake that fact up in anu's head like sotha sil very likely has the power too, they'd vanish, as padomay is the basis of all daedra.
Hope not, I'm not ready for liberty prime skyrim edition.
Sotha Sil is fucking dead.
How does this play into kalpas, I thought I remembered reading that aedra and daedra switch roles/sides or something like that each time a new kalpa begins
he uploads his mind into the city itself daily for about 3 eras. he could easily fabricate a new body for it if he so pleased. sotha sil is the very picture of immortality, as it really doesn't get much better than becoming an AI.
...
Why was Vivec the only one out of the tribunal to get CHIMed? Had Fagoth Ur achieved reverse CHIM (sleeping in the real world, awake in the dream)?
It does, since that isn't him as an entity, only his "data". No godhood included in data. Vivec exists despite everything that happened or will happen, since he achieved CHIM he exists despite time and events.
sotha sil could but refuses to do so. instead, he tries to guide his followers on a path that will let them ascend to that, and hopefully later all of nirn.
I could have sworn that Azura tells you Sotha Sil is truly dead and that he welcomed it; basically allowing Almalexia to kill him because he was tired of living. I don't doubt he was capable of cheating death by uploading his brain into the clockwork city, but I don't think he did that because I don't think he wanted to escape death.
