HOW?

HOW?

I've sunk 20+ hours into this boss alone and I'm still no closer to beating the final stage. Do I need to start over and get the backwards shot to stand any chance?

don't shoot the fireballs

Vinesauce beat it on his first try

>I've sunk 20+ hours into this boss alone
holy shit

Good for vinny

wait does the top dragon head have two mouths? what's going on

>20 hours
you will never get better,if anything you will endup up winning by luck and not skill, and in this case you better just give up playing at all

DSP beat it.

Use lobber for the second phase, charge I think for the others. Use your super attack at soon as the last phase begin, then try to stay up or down when he shoots fire. Don't shoot the fireballs in the last phase. You should have full life by the last phase btw, if you don't retry.

> Get to its final stage
> The frame drops to 10 fps and there's input lag

How do I fix this? I bet it's the rain effect that is causing it.

This one took me like 3 hours, and getting up to this guy ALSO took me 3 hours.

What a fucking asshole.

why would a dragon gamble his treasure away? I thought dragons liked comfy piles of treasure

play on anything that's not a toaster from 2005,even a toaster from 2010 works fine

Is your computer a potato? You could lower the resolution I guess.

Turn off vsync

Autism

Here's the non autistic answer, gonna try that. Thanks, man.

It's very simple, there are only two things you need to remember on the third phase:

1) Don't shoot the dragon's projectiles
2) Listen out for the stretching noise, and stay away from the middle row when you hear it

just got to the moth miniboss and this happens. very nice glitch that got me stuck in the wall of the stage

I could not fight this dude before I swapped in the Lobbers
Lobbers makes his 2nd phase so much easier
I still only beat him as I died, a double KO, glad that still counts

Np, was playing on buddy's rig from 2017 and it also stuttered. We turned off vsync and it was fine mostly.

>Shitty intergrated Graphics
>Turns off Vsynch
>Suddenly it works just fine

I fuckin

5 hours a day across several days, not 20 hours straight. The heavy RNG means you can't really replicate a good run.

You're welcome, my man

I feel like his last phase is way easier than the jumping fireball phase.

lol

>heavy RNG

the fireball phase is very hard to read. I have no idea even at this point what decides whether or not the fireballs will go high or not.

Same. My biggest problem, by far, was getting to his third phase with only one life left. It was a very slow process to learn the final patterns because most of the time I wasn't getting there at all. Once I made it there with two lives I was fine.

He thought he would win and get tons more loot.

Dragon is best boss btw.

>Vinny beats this guy 1st try
>Cannot for the life of him understand Sonic 3

Life is weird sometimes.

>mfw dying to this miniboss the second I had killed him
>mfw this happened multiple times

I swear that he was doing it for comedic effect

But, he did play a lot of megaman, so that would explain why he picked up cuphead more easily than Sonic 3

you can just smoke dash past him

>I've sunk 20+ hours into this boss alone
go bait somewhere else, nobody can be that bad

Are you retarded? You playing with your foot?

Beat the dragon first try, the answer is as always charge shot

In all seriousness in the final phase just focus on 2 things 1) not shooting the fireballs. literally stop shooting and dodge them to make sure you don't shoot them and 2) watch for the fire attack. If you're on a top cloud you won't get hit but you have to learn the tell and watch for it.

Once i slowed myself the fuck down and stopped trying to rush phase 3 is when I beat it. you need to focus more on not getting hit than doing damage.

I though that too but you didn't kill him, for some reason the moment you die his death animation also starts playing. Not sure if it's a bug but I noticed this on many occasions throughout the game.

Not playing on a "master race" console wannabe. Play it on a real console instead.

I'm at 14 hours and I haven't reached this guy yet. This really is the dark souls of platformers.

To be fair the Charge shot is actually 2gud

Like I beat it on second attempt with the Charge shot

>clouds
>flames
>bubbles
>the tail
>fireballs

Yes RNG. Anyway looks like I'm just going to start a new game and buy lob because it doesn't sound very possible without it.

The clouds have two preset patterns. They're both fair and memorisable. I beat the dragon using only the peashooter first time, just learn the patterns instead of cheesing you way through with a certain weapon.

hes not that hard man, what the fuck. It took me about 15 tries and thats it

It's almost like you have to adapt to your surroundings and can't just memorize a specific string of button inputs to win flawlessly 100% of the time.

I had come a glitch in the monkey crane miniboss. I used my super and then he went to a corner and didn't move or die no matter how many times I shot him. Had to restart everything.

You dumbasses who think the Dragon is hard
Wait till you meet up with THIS MOTHERFUCKER

I do not buy it user. It means you refuse to learn if you are taking so long to beat him. My first try I managed to get to his last phase (I lost because I was using the homing gun and it kept hitting the fireballs making things harder than usual).

Yes, the clouds are RNG but its not as heavy as you think. The Lobber is a great option here because the boss is so huge you will always hit him. His second phase is even more easy with the Lobber and the only thing you have to pay attention to is the audio cue for when the little fire people are going to jump. Then the 3rd phase is just lobbing the shit out of him, going to the lower clouds and let him shoot the fireballs at you and then going up once he becomes flamethrower and continue lobbing the shit out of him.

please come back and make another thread when you get back to the dragon and realize you still can't beat it because the problem lies not in your weapon puchases but within you
I want to have another giggle

Grim takes 20 tries at absolute max, I don't believe this is real

Literally all you need is the lobber and just watch where you're jumping.

I've been having some trouble with the 2nd island
althought the genie was a total fucking pushover

If there's no weapon to reliably pass the third stage I'll just import a third island save and bypass the troll stage entirely.

>wait for fireball
>dodge fireball
>shoot a short burst of vanilla shot
>repeat
>dodge flamethrower attack when it comes

user.

not harder at all, took me about the same amount of time

The first 2 stages are easy as shit, it's the 3rd that eats all 4 HP.

>mfw I beat him on my 5th attempt yet the genie took me 30

I know the robot is fundamentally harder but I pretty much breezed through him faster than most.

Go for it, my dude. Your purchase, your choice. Play the game however you like.

if you can't even beat grim I doubt you'll have much luck with robot man but ok

I can't even get past the first phase, they're three annoying things happening at the same time and when you try to get rid of one of them they get replaced by something much more annoying. This is hell.

That's cheating.

Why even play the game if you don't want to play it yourself?

I used the lobber and the smoke dash and did just fine. You just gotta get the dodging down on the first phase, then you just need to fake out those little fireballs. After that just use your super and spam any additional single card super shots you get. The lobber should make it easy to avoid shooting the last phase fireballs. If you ever get stuck like that rethink your approach. Don't keep ramming the brick wall for 20 hours you can beat the fair in a day casually.

The Lobber is pretty much guaranteed to help then. You can stop shooting and try to focus on avoiding the fireballs and then once he becomes a firethrower there will always be a upper row of clouds where you can shoot at him without getting hit.

Use the Charge Shot. It reks most bosses.

If you're getting stumped by a boss, it probably means you should switch the weapon(s) you're using

I actually had a harder time with the genie. I got the trinket spewing bullshit like the first twenty times that I played it, and didn't start making progress until I got the swords in the first phase. After that it was a cakewalk, but I was getting fucked hard with RNG on that one.

So what would you buy
Would you want a Cuphead 2 for another 20 dollars
Or a full new Island DLC for 5 dollars

>mfw Im trash at Run and Gun

>ive sunk 20+ hours into this boss

bullshit. Every boss can be beat in less than 2 mintues. There is no fucking way you played him for 20+ hours and still haven't beaten him. You must have a IQ under 70 you stupid retarded fuck

>purchase

both for $25

>heavy RNG

Mate, there's no easy way to say this...but you need to get fucking good.

>Every boss can be beat in less than 2 mintues
>can

5 dollars for an extra island would objectively be the best value, as the game right now is priced at $6.67 per island.

you really have a nose for a good bargain

you're not taking into account the finale

Reminder that if you used charge shot you're ultra casual.

Real niggas go through the 5 minute iron man with homing shot.

>im a fucking retard

At the beginning of the fight, shoot the antenna until it starts to charge
Then drop down and kill the four adds while shooting the bottom compartment.
Slap the pink thing shooting the vertical laser
Shoot the antenna (it should die this time, if not repeat above)
Kill the adds then split damage between bottom and middle, killing them at about the same time
When the heart pops out, use your B to turn into a bomb and do most of its health in damage
Finish shooting it before any of the other mechanics get into place

Phase one is impossible until you figure out that pattern. Then it becomes the easiest phase.

people with downs shouldn't play.
>still no closer to the final stage

>tfw used the charge shot and weapon switch glitch
>tfw already got 100% before it gets patched
>tfw don't care what you think

LOCK ME UP, THROW AWAY THE KEY

FBBP

Why even play the game if you're just gonna cheese the whole thing? What a waste of an Andrew Jackson.

Do you have no sense of satisfaction?

>He hasn't beaten the game with only the peashooter and no charms
oh am i laffin

a slight improvement on this strategy is to use your bombs (the alt weapon not the super) on the bottom two things. If you aim at the right spot you can damage both of them while also taking out the galaga looking things that fly out

They’re nerfing charge shot.

>being this autistic about how another player plays a single player game

Hold still senpai.

Bitch nigga, Homing and hearts lower your DPS. The longer the fight lasts, the more likely you are to get hit and die.

Get your ass back in there.

Don't feel bad, only 5% of Cuphead owners have beaten the game.

>Don't have to aim
>Can get hit 5 times
um sweetie...

Truly the dark souls of games named Cuphead

The homing makes the dragon even harder because you are breaking the fireballs unnecessarily

I reach the final stage every time without taking a single hit but 4 HP still isn't enough for the last part.

Just goes to show how many people are lying.

charged shot is actually legit bugged, it does too much damage. If any of u beat a boss with charged shot, congrats, u needed a crutch

Does anyone have the webm of a perfect beppi run?

>most people that beat it have probably pirated it
Buyfags suck at videogames

Who else S rank everything here? I just wish there was an achievement or reward for it. How else am I supposed to feel good about myself?

play smart, not hard

I'm surprised it's that low. It's challenging, but I never felt like a boss was insurmountable without some herculean effort. I always felt like "yeah, I'll fell this dude in a few more tries".

22 hours now.

>you don't need the lob

The 5% who beat the game bought the lob I just know it.

>balance updates in a singleplayer game
for what fucking purpose
I hate modern gaming
