Unrelated. Name five similarities.

“Unrelated” of course goyim

Pig
Shopkeep
Both sell legendary shields
Both are in pretentious indie games
Both are in bad games

>shop keeper
>pig
>pose
>eye patch

Pig
Eyepatch
Shopowner
Fat
American

>Shopkeepers
>Pigs
>Eyepatches
>Exact same pose
>Selling upgrades/equipment to player

It really makes you think

Cuphead is a ripoff game.

...

How did they got away with blatantly copying dark souls, my Sup Forumsros?

There's also the Dragon Quest slime boss and the Pacman jawbreaker in the candy boss. Homage =/= ripping off.

Fuck I just got the reference

...

Thievery

It is a homage to the original Wonder Boy

There you go.

You ever notice how many evil pigs there are in video games?

How come the top one is ripping off Angry Birds?

>fat merchant is a fat pigg that probably sold his own eye
is this a jew joke?

what are some evil pigs in videogames

It's weird how pigs are always evil in video games

Americans

Pigs are disgusting

explain this

twitter.com/merugezu/status/916729028605825024

>no one mentioned King Dice's miniboss gaunlet being a ripoff of Black's Base from Gunstar Heroes

The entire game is a ripoff of everything else by this point.

...

Such as?

Name three (3) games where Americans are the bad guys

I'll wait

Tomba

>Wasted
How did dark souls got away with blatantly copying GTA

dark souls copied demon's souls though!!!

Ha! Guess I wasn't the only one who noticed.

Who the fuck played wonder boy?

what reference..?

This would be a better comparison if you used the original Dragon's Trap, where the shopkeeper pigs are light orange. Only the church pig is purple-pink.

>Wonder boy
>pretentious indie games

Found the American

You are STRELOK

In the remake the pigs are all colored and dressed differently depending on location. But all have the same pose and eyepatch.

Is the top game any good? The art style reminds me a little of Bone for some reason

Both are MGS V references anyway.

>Wonder Boy
>Pretentious
>Indie

Literally everybody

Yes.

It was one of the best games in master system catalog and one of the best metroidvanias to this day.

>no name indie game
just admit you wanted to shill for your shitty indie title.
youtu.be/NU9vHywsIBk?t=234
Cuphead showed the pig shopkeeper since at least 2016, who knows if these no name indie devs saw this and took what they drew?

lovecraft

Guess I'll try them out. Should I start with the 2017 remake or go through them in release order?

sorry I'm a brainlet, still don't really get it

Do whatever you want, the games don't really have any continuity.

The start of WBIII is based on the ending of the game right before, but it's not the same protagonist.

...

>Sega games from the 80's are now indie titles
What does this mean?

Play the remake, you have the option of using both graphics. Wonder boy 1 and 2 weren't even metroidvanias, they were just bog-standard platformers and not particularly good ones at that.

Does the remake keep the charm points system?

shit thread

cuphead devs likely making tribute to original dragon's trap on master system

stop being a faggot OP holy shit

No, the remake swaps them out for six charm stones you obtain from secret dungeons. There's one for each form (meaning dragon-man and hu-man have a purpose now).

>ripping off resident evil

That's actually a really cool reference, nice catch.

Pigma, ganon, dude from diddy kong racing.

I played them in order a couple years ago and had a great time. Each has a best version though.
>Wonder Boy
Arcade
>Monster Land
Arcade
>Dragon's Trap
Sega Master System (FM sound enabled)
>Monster Lair
TG-16 CD
>Monster World
Mega Drive
>Monster World IV
Mega Drive (official translation)

explain how the game is pretentious

Not as bad as the GG version but that still sounds like shit. I prefer each monster form being seen in a different light by the shopkeepers, it adds a lot to the game's personality. A cute mouse and a majestic lion would be treated better than a fish dude or an ass-faced lizard beast.

HA

Thanks for the list of evil pigs in video games.

name 5 video games with evil pigs

For some reason this was what came to mind for me.

Thanks for the list of pig shopkeeper similarities in video games.

Here's another

>inspiration = copied

K Y S
Y
S

>Wonderboy
>Cuphead
>Pretentious
On what planet

The fortune teller does that now.

oh yeah, because its such a stereotype.
EVERY Shopkeeper in any videogame is a pig with an eyepatch and that specific pose

>Cuphead pig isn't smoking
ruined

It was a joke.

>he doesn't know about Hypercrisis
>he doesn't know about forms of medial all inadvertantly referencing each other
>he doesn't believe in the multiverse
I laugh at you

he sounds like he smoked Smokey Smokes® Cigarettes

Fuck off Binyot.

At least they didn't copy her.

...

Reminder that she's a scalie.

Useless

one is a furfag game, the other is a good game

something something associated with greed.

Its a capitalist pig. Never heard that one before.

aren't japanese orcs pig demons or something

>wonderboy
>pretentious

This

Just look at all the threads in the catalog talking about fapping about that one Cuphead boss, you know, the dragon

The one down is actually a good game.

Mother 3

"I would really prefer it if you would be quiet"

Wasn't ganon a pig like creature at one point?

Spec ops the line

Earthbound

i don't get it

World in Conflict Soviet Assault

>fat
>gross
>intelligent
Good traits for a villain.

she was cuter in the original

One of the must have haves for the master system.

And you mean Wonderboy 3 or Wonder Boy in Monster land.

Wonder Boy was about a caveman throwing axes at people

>nobody ever remembers this one

youtube.com/watch?v=qHdBxYeYTtk

The game is full of homages and references, compare the backgrounds in this to the ones on Mr King Dice's stages.
