Xenoblade 2, Kirby Star Allies, Yoshi 2018, and Fire Emblem 2018 among third-party games, indies, and future announcements are what are after Odyssey. Not counting far-off games like Pokemon Switch, Metroid Prime 4, Travis Strikes Back, and the new SMT among other things.

I wasnt super impressed. They emphasized roleplaying but one distinct ability really doesnt do that.

I think the idea is that the octopathes meet up at some point and then you're playing 8 distinct abilities at once.

Less variety in weapon types. Also HW gave significant redesigns for a lot of characters, whereas 90% of FEW characters are ripped straight from their 3DS style.

Probably the weapon triangle, seeing as HW just had the elements that didn't really affect that much of the gameplay, while I could see the triangle fucking someone over if it's prominent within the game.

In short, no. If you absolutely must play FEW, buy a New 3DS.

That's what I was afraid of. I feel like I was spoiled with Hyrule Warriors Legends, I skipped the original and ended up putting 500+ hours into Legends and I'm still not done. I was hoping Fire Emblem Warriors would provide a lot of playtime but I guess I'll have to wait for the sequel/remake.

History mode has three less stages than adventure mode, but:
1: Story mode is longer than in HW
2: You don't have to play every single stage at least twice
My final playtime was 46 hours. Once I unlocked Celica and saw she was a straight clone of Marth with no alterations, I figured I've played the game more than enough.

HWL had three DLC packs worth of content added in and other HWL-exclusive content shoved in.

I'm well aware. That's why I'd want to wait for either a remake that includes all the DLC, or a sequel to confirm that the original isn't getting any more DLC.

I only wish Lyn and Celica weren't in the game, too. I'd have preferred literally any character from Fates over them.
