You are overthinking it. You do not need to learn the hands at all until later on, you can simply play by not revealing your hand at all by doing Chi, Kan, or Pons, and you can just aim for Riiching every time on four triples and one double. Obviously for 0 you need a couple specific hands but you can BS your way into a Mangan and rarely a Haneman without even thinking about your hand and just playing it.

this is true. the whole button mashing sequences will most likely side against you no matter how fast you tap. somebody did it with turbo and it still sided the opponent

wanna get into this series. is it a good idea to play zero, then kiwami, then kiwami 2 when it comes out? or save zero for later? also, do they plan to kiwami the entire series not on ps4?

Jesus, glad this is confirmed. I knew that button mash segment was bs. I bashed the fuck out of those buttons like my life depended on it and still lost like 80% of the time.
Truth is, minigames in Yakuza have always been shit... this is why I've 100%ed my completion list in adventure, battle, business, and stories but only have around 60% in minigames.

Only baseball, normal golf, and anything from 3. Seriously, normal golf requiring -5 in tournament mode is like a middle finger to you.

i literally finished Y3's golf completion by pure ass luck. one of my hits went straight to the hole in one stroke in the last course and that pretty much made it easy to get -5

You have to do it again in 4 and Dead Souls and it's not any easier. If anything it's harder because Kiryu is the only good character to actually play it as.

Zero and Kiwami are good starting places, but it's going to be a while before Kiwami 2 comes out so you might just want to emulate 2 in the meantime.
