I love that this game triggers the brainlets

Cause it managed to concentrate the autism of Modded Mincraft Factory systems into its own game with none of the "combat" or survival nonsense. It's just "build a fukken factory and let it kill shit for you" once you finish the first hour (variable dependent on player skill and experience with the game prior)

Is it fun though?

>Tfw when you realize you've become just another a cog in your own machine

I love this feel. I should play this game.

>perfectly neat and tidy modular power station
>everything else is an impenetrable fucking mess all over the place

everytime i play this happens.

Depends how much you like design/automation.

It's a beautiful feeling after experiencing the asspain of hand-making a few components - only to automate them and begin pumping them out hundreds at a time.

I personally had loads of fun playing with a friend, and was less autism-pressing because we split up the work load, he handled power related things like nuclear reactors, and i had research and craft electronics

Then start formulating modules on the side of your catastrophe and then tear down your main base and replace with blueprinted pretties.

>everytime i play this happens.
Learn to blueprint. And find blueprints.

Blueprints are the path user.

Sounds pretty great desu.
I remember playing on a modded minecraft server that had stuff like this. It was neat.

I bet this is a game Rick would play.

Welp I wanted to play this

Oh hot damn that hurts to read, quality b8

You should try that new lord of the rings game. Loot crates are fun ha ha.

Has anyone achieved complete self propagation/maintenance to the point of letting the machines completely take over the world on its own?

BIDO GAM

that would be cool if you could program an AI to recognize the landscape and build accordingly

It really isn't difficult. You can play at your own pace and do perfectly fine with an inefficient factory.

Entirely vanilla.

has anyones factory every actually turned out like the shitfest in the OP pic?

>OP pic
God no. That's just to emphasize the shit in the game. But overall, I get pretty spaghetti.

>Cookie clicker
>perfect
If you're a literal idiot, i guess.
Make a thread when there's something to do in there.

>cookie clicker
what

He's probably referring to the fact Factorio is an incremental game where you set stuff up then watch numbers (or item counts) get bigger.

>Entirely vanilla.
>Read the description
>"Only two mods are needed: Recursive Blueprints and Logistic Train Network"

Oh. For some reason, I thought it was. My bad.
Still impressive.

I kind of want to get this game, but the whole top-down view with loads of densely packed tiny detailed objects seems like it would strain my eyes after a while.

Not really as far as I've experienced. You can zoom in when you need to.

FUCK THIS GAME

No Factorio is not fun, However it is immensely entertaining and i really do enjoy it.

It really puts in perspective how much we as modern humans take for granted, for example ya want a battery? Lol you better make several base materials to end with that final product.

as much as lego is fun
you get a wide range of building block (potentially infinite with mods) and a simulator to watch things play out

tfw you finally build the factory you need to launch a rocket and it's incredibly satisfying

>spend 10 hours building an inefficient machine
is this what being a brainlet feels like

Am i the only one who restarts a shitload of times after finding out better ways of doing little things?

not at all

>All those cordoned off sections with huge packs of nests
>Has nukes
Clear that shit out, retard. Cleanse the world.

git gud

>oil
Ruins my autistically perfect layouts every time. I haven't played since they introduced nuclear power so that might be even worse.

Just got done playing for my four free hours today. Cant get enough. You really need to learn to bus in order to maintain structure. If u dont, its near impossible to stay organized. Most addictive game ive played hands down

>mfw last time I was on a Factorio thread everyone was demanding I buy the game
>the devs acting all high and mighty with their "no discount" policy
>pirate it and try it out
>it's shit

Wew, that god I didn't listen to you fags.

>demanding I buy the game
Horse shit. Nobody here actually does that.

It wasn't ever really a problem, I just tear through encampments with nukes or my tank whenever I need it, and my defenses take care of the rest.

Jeez, i wanna get to that level of micromanaging but i can never figure out how to bus, its probably not hard but i find it easier to just do a spaghetti factory at the start of the game, but then I just end up doing that for the whole game

You really do have to plan shit out, before I laid anything down I tried to figure out exactly how I'd lay things out so that my main buses got filled, and how production could be expanded if needed. I have plenty of aborted saves before that where I essentially just run out of room to expand. That's the real killer, when you can't produce fast enough, but you also can't expand because you trapped yourself

pro tip, you can delete stuff and build it right.

Is this like a casualized Dwarf Fortress?

thats more along the lines of rimworld, dwarf fortress is a (correct me if im wrong) a colony simulator and that is what rimworld is too.
