What are some games that have aged like fine wine?

It hasn't been THAT long since PUBG came out man.
Almost no games from before and even including Gen 5 have aged well, in my opinion. They are just too limited by the technical limits of their day in most cases.
Plenty are still enjoyable, but there;'s little reason to bother with them when newer incarnations of their franchise or genre do all the same things but better

The original doom still outclasses Doom 4 by quite a bit though, and will continue to do so because of how easy it is to make maps and mod it.
>PUGB is your favorite game
Not doom
sid
meiers
alpha
centauri
Thief 1 and 2
I haven't played any of the DOOM game so I can't comment there
Damn son. You're missing out. Consider trying any of them one of these days.
I just came in here to say that the PS1/N64 Spider-Man game did not age well at all before someone posts it pretending it did.
HDOOM WHEN
Quake 1. It's the ultimately distilled singleplayer FPS experience. MP has arguably been surpassed by Q3A, but SP is top fucking tier.
most of the series that have survived for that long have become terrible. and games in general have become underwhelming because we dissect them on the internet before they release.
>doom aged well
but the Xbox/PS2/NGC Spiderman 2 movie game was so perfect they're still just copying it when they make new ones
Killer 7

I don't think you quite understand just how few series that actually applies to.
...
Playing vanilla doom on DOSBox/Chocolate doom with the original intended control scheme feels like shit.
Yeah, too bad they don't have the faintest clue how to make any of them actually good. The new one's gonna suck too, unless they completely throw out the combat system they showed at E3.
There was no original inteded control scheme, Romero played with mouse and keyboard even back in the day.

Just played through the original Castlevania and it was fun
Divine Divinity, you got your Ultima style RPG all over my Diablo and it's wonderful
Every single Team-Silent's SH game.
