Zelda: Breath of the Wild Thread

I'm playing this for the 3rd time in preparation for the DLC and I'm still loving it. There's a lot of flaws with the game, but there's still so much here that puts it above other games.

probably will have a new divine beast discovered and maybe some training for the champion descendants and/or some backstory for them

Nice, here's mine
>favorite area
Gerudo Desert, the town is one of my favorite areas in the series, it has the Yiga Clan hideout which was amazing
>favorite boss/miniboss
Thunderblight is best boss, Yiga Master best miniboss

Definitely Nabooris, the electric puzzles were refreshing after the same stuff for the rest of the game
>best girl
Urbosa

Sidon

I hope at least that its set after the main game and has to do with bringing the champions back to life or something like that

I thought kohga counted as a main boss rather than miniboss. Nonetheless, I'd like him more if he wasn't so piss-easy - I get that's the joke, but still. Good taste with the rest, though.

>There's a lot of flaws with the game

I think the story was really lacking and it ended rather abruptly.
There should have been some actual dungeons instead of only shrines. I get that breaking the formula was the intention, but I would have loved some optional caves with a good permanent reward at the end.
Sidequests aren't as interesting as they used to be since you know they most likely just lead to a shrine or ruppees. There's only a few exceptions like getting the Thunder Helm or Tarrey Town that felt like real quests.
Also not being able to register all the unique mounts like the Stalhorse or bears was a crime. I hope that in future DLC they add in a monster stable run by Keaton or something.

I just started a new file for Master Mode.

I can't get upgrades from Hestu until I get his fucking maracas which are guarded by White Bokoblins. And since I can't upgrade my inventory slots from Hestu, I'm fucked for Test of Strength shrines (even Minor) because all my shit breaks. I probably have to make a suicide run to Hyrule Castle for Royal Weapons or feed all my rusty shit to an octorok.

It's pretty fun and interesting going a different path than on my previous run though. Except for not being able to kill anything ever.

Hitting that New Game button and playing the plateau again with only basic armor and weapons is objectively the most fun part of this game

Haven't touched the game since last summer when I finished it. How's the first DLC?

I have 9 shrines left and no idea how to find them. I'm tempted to look them up but don't want to ruin the sense of discovery... is there an NPC who can give me a hint or something?

I didn't think Ganon would be so tough on Master Mode. Once he goes into his second phase with invulnerability he starts regenerating all his HP while climbing on the walls.

And Trial of the Sword Master mode is absolutely brutal. I can't get past more than 5 floors

>and it ended rather abruptly
No, it didn't.
>There should have been some actual dungeons instead of only shrines
There's 4-5 + tons of shrines
>Sidequests aren't as interesting as they used to be
Laughable.
>Also not being able to register all the unique mounts like the Stalhorse or bears was a crime
Agreed. It wouldn't make any sense but still.

Mipha best girl, not as good as Ruto though

Why haven't we heard anything about dlc 2?

because it will be in the next direct

and that it will be delayed with some other smaller content to tide us over

ugh I forgot the DLC is coming out

Agreed, and I do hope the DLC will be a Zelda escort mission

I'm the OP, those are just the minor issues I found with the game.

I love the fact that the game has multiple language options. I have no idea why so many companies refuse to add in dual audio. Then Zelda comes out and you can pick 5 or 6 languages.

>favorite area
Akkala, especially that small piece of land at the furthest north with rock columns. A shame you can't just walk on most of it because if invisible wall
>favorite boss/miniboss
Lynels, even if they're easy to cheese they're still fun to fight
>favorite divine beast
Meh, didn't like any
>favorite girl
Mipha, followed by Purah
>favorite boy
Sidon

A little late to reply, but I just did this on master mode too, and I killed all three of the bastards by knocking them off the cliff with bombs
Praise the Ragdoll!

The DLC better introduce at least one new enemy, one as formidable as a Lynel

I was really dissappointed when there weren't any humanoid enemies. I was looking forward to Darknuts riding around the overworld like minibosses. Lynels ended up serving that purpose and it was cool to see them represented in a 3D game, but Darknuts are cooler. Plus we could've gotten them on horseback for the first time. Maybe in the DLC if there's some non-Ganon threat with new enemies.

DARKNUTS AND IRON KNUCKLES WHENNN

MAKE US USE MAGNESIS

That's fine but saying it has an abrupt ending is just bullshit.

Darknuts are exactly what I had in mind. I guess it's because everything in this game has a "wild" approach, so darknuts didn't fit in. But I don't care, I want them.

if the new story dlc is not adding more enemies nintendo is fucking trash

>flagship series
>30 years old
>first dlc ever made is barely batter than oblivion horse armor

I just didn't like the resolution, that's all. They should have shown what had happened to the other characters afterwards like they usually do. Some characters like Purah and Robbie were interesting at first but later seem like afterthoughts when you've got everything from them.

>barely better than horse armour
Holy hyperbole batman. Sword trials were fantastic

Oh, and they were a good few hours long too

It would have been really cool if you could fight darknuts on their own decked out horses. Considering how much effort they put into horses in this game, horseback combat was really lackluster. Bokoblins would just get knocked off their horses in one hit, so you'd have to take the battle the ground, and Lynels will just fuck you up with arrows, so you have to fight them on the ground as well.

Horseback combat is great though
>passing stabs at lynels
>running over bokoblins
>that speed and mobility
>horseback archery
So much fun
