Do not go to Mexico. It's much worse than the media lets on because people don't care. I live in Texas and the violence has been bleeding over for the last decade. It's totally fucked. It varies heavily. Some parts of Mexico are safe, even fun to be in, party etc. But the actual border regions where cartels fight? It's worse than anything Hollywood will show you. They shoot each other on the daily basis, skin people alive and put the videos on the internet for all to see. The most gruesome shit I've seen comes from Central America, they don't fuck around.
