Hm not sure if the entire industry will fail. I belive that there will be deminishing returns and development cost getting to high for companys even when they try to squeze money out of every pore but still. Maybe 1 or 2 big players will fail and parts of it will cool down.

I mean even during the "big crash" in the 80s it mainly hit Atari and other American companys afaik the european homecomputer market was not in a particular bad shape.
