>Be a puzzle game whore
>Always love zelda games
>Enjoy the dungeons the most even though the puzzles weren't that hard
>Most dungeons in the series are well designed around particular puzzles/themes
>Get really excited for the new game
>Get BotW instead
>All puzzles ripped out of dungeons and spread around open world
>Only 4 actual dungeons, all with the same theme, and all short and easy
>Bosses don't involve any puzzle-like mechanics anymore
>Everything I enjoyed from a zelda game is gone
So is there any game that can scratch my Zelda-dungeon itch?
I need alternatives and this open world trash isn't doing it.
Be a puzzle game whore
Here's an alternative: grow a brain so that you aren't autistically pining for baby tier puzzles over freedom of choice.
Darksiders 1. The sequel is fairly different and isn't nearly as good because it fell for the open world meme and treats you like an errand boy.
Freedom of choice is the enemy of a quality experience.
Otherwise there would be one choose-your-own-adventure book that was actually good.
But there isn't. They're all shit just like BotW.
I've actually heard a lot of good things about Darksiders 1 but never played it, despite owning the game. I might have to check that out.
Are you telling me that going on a hike or climbing a mountain is like watching a movie? No wonder you like the easy puzzles made for making underages feel smart.
>implying you wouldn't rather play BOTW than actually go hiking
Holy shit that was some of the worst mental gymnastics i've ever seen
That is so true. Darksiders 2 definitely felt like Breath. Quantity over quality.
In D2 they should've just made as many unique dungeons as they could have given their budget. And then just stop. No reused dungeon themes. No side dungeons. Just D1-tier dungeons. Even if that only meant 5 or 6 dungeons.
Also, no random loot. Again - better focus on quality. As much unique loot as they could've made. Nothing more. And hide them in clever places with mini puzzles.
And instead of 3 mediocre DLCs, just one. With a proper new dungeon. And loot. And a proper story, for fuck's sake. No stupid-ass media res unpausing.
You call them mental gymnastics because your brain can't keep up.
D1 was better than the contemporary Zelda game, Skyward Sword.

Zelda stays the same as the last one: Complaining on Sup Forums
Booooooooring
Okami, Okami-Den, Anodyne
branch out and try SotC, Ico, and TLG
There's not a single long running franchise that doesn't get complaints on Sup Forums
Except maybe Dragon Quest
>block pushing toddler puzzles are gone
Thank god, now Zelda can finally be good again.
Sorry to hear you're autistic, OP
It's a shitty gow clone with an edgy story about angels and demons.
Icy Veil
Forge Lands
Land of the Dead
Lostlight
Black Stone
Tree of Life
There, the game could've easily had 6 great unique dungeons. But instead it had 18+3 (DLC). 21 dungeons with just 5 themes (as the Tree of Life did not have a dungeon). What a mess.
You can apply it to anything. No matter what you do in life, freedom of choice is the enemy of a quality experience.
It's only delusional uneducated people who think otherwise.
Let's take going for a hike.
Which is the better experience:
>A. Getting thrown at a random location and told to just find your way around.
>B. Getting someone with intimate knowledge of the area and its surroundings to plan you a route that takes you through all the best and most beautiful areas of the hike.
A lot of people would say A, but people are stupid. Anyone with any intelligence will trust the expert opinion.
The better experience will always be B. 100% of the time.
The only people who enjoy A more are immature idiots who try so hard to be "independent" that they actually make their lives worse. That's something you see in teenagers all the time, but you also see it in adults.
If all video games gave you the freedom of choice, we'd have a whole lot of Skyrim's out there. Wide as an ocean, shallow as a puddle.
I never played GoW either, so I won't notice if this game is a clone of it.
Darksiders
>All the puzzles ripped out of dungeons
Every dungeon is literally a giant puzzle that has puzzles inside of it.
They're not only tiny dungeons in BotW, but there's also only 4 of them. It's really a step down from all prior Zelda games.
Not only that, but they all look and feel the same.
>Nintendo has been shitting up the Zelda series with overblown narratives and retarded puzzles for so long that large portions of its fanbase bitch and whine when they finally return to the more open-ended style of the original game
It has baby's first block sliding puzzles so you might like it.
All the bosses actually did have a rune-based weakness, you just weren't forced to use it.
Eagle Tower in links awakening is the only memorable puzzle
I pity anyone who play Zelda for the puzzles
La Mulana falls under A and I liked that game a lot for the adventuring aspect
