Forbidden Memories

This was before even the classic rules came and ruined the game.

I love forbidden memories but that game is broken

The DS game. Nightmare Troubador, I think its called.

>the best yugioh game that has classic rules before the new mechanics ruined the game

the new summoning methods are great. eat my dick

>old yugioh
>summon a monster, attack, set some trap cards, pass
>both players do this over a few turns but the player with the most skill and using the smartest strategic card choices eventually won
>new yugioh
>I SUMMON 5 SUPER GIGA HYPER DRAGONKNIGHTS AT THE SAME TIME THEN SPEND 10 MINUTES COMBINING THEM INTO BIGGER DRAGONS AND KILL YOU IN ONE TURN GG

New-gioh is terrible. I remember when fusion summoning my Ultimate Blue Eyes was a good play and now synchro shit and whatever else just completely powercrept and destroyed what was left of a fun game.

>t. someone who doesn't know how new yu-gi-oh works
the only reason to cling to classic yu-gi-oh is that it's easy and you have nostalgia for it

YGO 2006. It's the last one on the GBA. Has a good selection of cards, up to Cybernetic Revolution or something. The ones on the DS are too slow. Summoning and card activation animations are slow, but not so with the GBA ones. Also the DS ones have synchros, so that's probably one of those new mechanics you don't like.

>New-gioh

You had one simply job to call it 'nugioh' and you fucked it up

Duel Links

>any of this
>ever being true

OH BOY I SURE LOVE BEING FUCKED OVER BY YATA GARASU OVER AND OVER AGAIN

>n-nugioh isn't overdesigned or complicated!
i-its still good!!!

Bonz tonight. Who's ready for Zombie shit and Ghostricks?

Try duel links.I fucking love it and right now it's nothing but OG and GX cards.
None of that stupid synchro and pendulum crap

Is this the one where u start at Stonehenge in the beginning

That's Duelist of the Roses, the sequel.

I pray his skills make up immensely for his drops.

>the new summon mechanics ruined Yugioh REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
t. brainlet.

I don't think he's going to be playable this time around, but some skills that looked like his were datamined with the GX update. Zombie World and Wasteland were two of his, I believe.

I quit playing when the dragon rulers came out but I heard they all got banned.

What are the meta decks now? Are there any good ones that are light on the new summoning mechanics?

>both players do this over a few turns but the player with the most skill and using the smartest strategic card choices eventually won
Maybe if you played with up to three friends and none of you had any idea what you were doing.
Early Yu-Gi-Oh was beatdown and LOB staples and whoever got the best topdecks won. Mechanicalchaser was the best monster in the game right up until Gemini Elf was printed.

His boss is probably the worst of every LD but yeah if he gets a call of the haunted skill or zombie world things could be interesting but hopefully he has other good zombie support as level up rewards.

>it's nothing but OG and GX cards.
Okay so this is a flat out lie.
Cyber Angels, who were introduced with GX, are pretty recent, which is part of the reason why they're one of the best things in the game right now.
Not to mention the countless Naturia cards, the Red/Blue Eyes support cards, the Destruction Swordsman cards, Brohunder, Worms, X-Sabers, and probably a bunch of stuff I'm leaving out that are from WAY past GX

Plus it's going to get Synchros by next year at this rate

>introduced with GX
Meant the GX update for Duel Links, to be less confusing.

Iv'e always played Chain Burn since Goat Format started to die officially. When all these meme cards like XYZs-Pens came out, it was just a clusterfuck for anyone playing a "meta" deck.
This new Link summoning gimmick is the dumbest thing they have done yet, and its just nice to know I dont have to worry about ANY of it.
Might have to adjust my side deck every other month when new crutch cards come out, but its nice seeing the rage in people's eyes when my budget 50$ deck shits on the "le epic tier 0" decks.

>both players do this over a few turns but the player with the most skill and using the smartest strategic card choices eventually won
>I summon Gemini elf, and unless you have a summoned skull, I win.
>strategy
You have no idea of what you're talking about.

lmao holy shit you've never played yugioh in your life

duel links by far. it's like the show during battle city. 4000 life points, 3 monster zones, 3 spell/trap zones, no syncro/xyz/pendulum bullshit.

What is the best non extra deck-deck that I can build with structure decks right now other than Felgrand? Doesn't have to be meta, I only want it to be fun to play against the one I just mentioned.
Gonna try to get a friend to play with me.

Nirvana High Paladin is great tho.

>I remember when fusion summoning my Ultimate Blue Eyes was a good play
it was never a good play. takes too long to come out, high chance of brick, and very easy to destroy.

Oh great it's another "95% of Sup Forums posters show how fucking stupid and inept they are at yugioh then proceed to complain to no end about how their mind is literally too fucking damaged to comprehend Synchros and beyond with a bigger hipsters crying about how Synchros were ok but XYZ, typically a weaker type than synchro that's easier to make, is somehow 50 leagues more 'overpowered' while people bitch and moan and get high off nostalgia to back when the epitome of the u metagame's depth was tribute summoning Summoned Skull and equipping it with axe of despair, all while Duel Links is being shilled and hipster retards stuck in the 2011 meta tell people they the best way to learn is to go through 20 different video games instead of just 1 followed by constantly playtesting day and night on ygo followed by duelingbook and devpro leading into locals as it should be if you're remotely serious about learning to play in the current format" episode.

>tfw you will never be Kaiba

I will never be a rich autist that would let people get killed just so I could be number 1 at a childrens card game?

>red eyes
>blue eyes
>way past gx

Ok nugioh fag

>ywn be Kaiba
youtube.com/watch?v=b9_KPuZPpeg

yeah,isnt that fucking awesome?

>tfw you like Archfiends but they're shit

Why? It's Creepy Kaiba of all people?

The cards like Cards of the Red Stone, and the Blue Eyes quick play I cannot remember are from pretty recent support, man.
Cards of the Red Stone is from like 2015.

>Implying the new mechanics ruined the game not jewnami getting more and more jewish.

Just because you played kitchen table doesn't mean that's how it went in the real world.

This, but 2011 is also good.

tell me again how kaiba was the best duelist in the world when all he did was pray he drew blue eyes from his deck. all it takes is 1 card to shut down his entire deck as shown by the pegasus vs kaiba duel

Beacon of White was the spell I was thinking of and that's 2016.

Plus I specifically said Red Eyes and Blue Eyes SUPPORT CARDS in my post, so I guess people who dislike newer Yugioh stuff actually cannot read.

nah fuck synchros, literally only one build that beat everything.

>tfw you like fusion monsters but they're all shit

I don't mind the new summoning mechanics in concept, but they have accelerated the game a bit too much what with people being able to summon ridiculously powerful monsters on their first turn.
Ignoring that though, the main problem I see here is the layout of the card isn't suitable for the amount of information they want to put on it, the text box was always too small and trying to cram in the pendulum stuff isn't helping.
They also don't know how to be efficient with their words. Like: "For this card's synchro summon, you can treat 1 pendulum summoned pendulum monster as a tuner. If this card is synchro summoned using a pendulum summoned pendulum monster tuner: ..."
The first part is necessary info, but the second half of that could just be worded as "if this card is summoned in this way" or even just go "if you do:"

I think a lot could be done if YGH had established more keywords as well. Like the fairly common "if this card attacks a defense position monster and its attack points are greater than the defending monsters defense points you may inflict the difference as damage to your opponent's life points" (or some similar wording). Imagine how much space could be saved on more complex cards if they established a term like "piercing damage" for that effect like how MTG has the "trample" keyword. Have monsters where that is their only effect explain the effect for newer players but have more complex monsters just use the keyword.

Gem Knights are pretty cool.
It's a shame that Links absolutely fucked Extra Deck summoning

>Konami will never reboot the series and actually balance the game around the OG cards and get rid of all the synchro,Pendulum, XYZ,and links bullshit.

Konami knows that OG yugioh is godtier which is why they made dark side dimensions, they know, now they just have to do it.

Do it Konami, fuck all this bloat, just make yugioh great again

.

nothing stopping you from getting old cards and playing with friends

or just play duel links

Duel links has Samurai Skull which literally came out 3 months ago

If he had any friends, would he be bitching about children's toys on Sup Forums?

So how many apocalypse related monsters are there and which ones ACTUALLY bring the apocalypse?
What is the lore for YGO cards?

Pretty sure all the nostalgia fags here are the same people who I had to constantly explain too that MST does not negate.

Did it really? Does that mean there's a chance for some of those new retrains of old cards to get into DL? I know Blaster Spider is too strong for it, but I'd love for Citadel Whale or something one day.

You're right but..

That doesn't have anything to do with my post so you're automatically wrong. Nice strawman tho

>the smell of freshly opened yugioh cards back in the day

Perfection

Dark magician with the new legenday dragons decks, the dinosaur deck also is ok on its own, 1 box of pendulum evolution give you 90% of the pendulum magician meta deck

Maybe this will get in one day.

I almost thought about buying some YGO cards at the store the other day just for the new card smell. And also the cards looked pretty cool, I guess

those new retrains are BECAUSE of duel links. Theyre going through every legendary duelist and revamping their iconic cards.

"Archfiend's Call"
You can target 1 Level 5 or higher Fiend monster in your GY; discard 1 Fiend monster, and if you do, Special Summon the targeted monster. You can only use this effect of "Archfiend's Call" once per turn.

>elementary school math: the game
>ever being good
'no'

>pendulum magician
>Non-Extra deck?
I already have an Odd-Eyes Magician deck and it relies heavily on fusions and a couple XYZ

Seems like it's more Darkworld support than Archfiend support

Goat format was GOAT

wish they sold air freshener with that smell

It IS still fun tho. When's the last time you played? DUEA era was the GOAT.

the GOAT coming through

More like GOAST

YGO championship 2004 for the GBA.
It's the only one I've played.
I just loaded up with raigeki, harpy feather duster, and a metric BUTTLOAD of equips on hayabusa knight and won everything always.

I never played yugioh, what would be the counterplay to this thing? Using a magic or trap card or something to just remove it from play?

Yeah against him you don't stand a GHOST of a chance!!

whats the objectively best yugioh video game? looking to get into the series again

SAYONARA, SUCKER

...

...

Yes, its basically immune to battle. However removal was plentiful for its time.

Non-battle destruction, of which there is a lot
Negate the summoning all together with one of the Solemn cards
Bouncing it back to the Extra deck
Tributing it with or a Kaiju

/ourguy/

Quite literally any removal.
This thing is never even used practically because it is too easy to kill.

The only decks that use it cheat it in to suck up a monster as a way of cheap removal (which also works for you to kill an opponents copy of it)

yugioh is a shit game for brainlets. the reasons the "community" hasn't decided to sit down to consider a well balance restriction list is because everyone is obsessed with flipping shit for profit or delusional aspirations of topping a regional with their OC donut steel netdeck. there's also no social cohesion to even begin discussing a way to balance the game since the game is played mostly by teenagers with passing interest, adults that sunk too much money/time to quit and used to konamis hot semen, and niggers. these people don't care or want the game to have more decision making and just play to get a easy hit of dopamine when they play their autopilot decks to win in less than 3 turns.

youtube.com/watch?v=Lnb8WD0wXps

>lose a childrens card game
>get so butthurt that you try to kill the creator of the game

More like (You)-Gi-Oh

you know what trading card game is worse than yugioh? magic.

who cares senpai

Use this one next time, user.

>there are people in Duel Links complaining that basic bitch-ass Naturia fucking beatdown is OP
I don't get it.

>>there are people in Duel Links complaining that basic bitch-ass Naturia fucking beatdown is OP
Maybe a month ago, Cyber Angels are the new cancer. Get with the times, Grandpa.

Parasite Paracides effect activates!

only gold rank shitters complain about that. naturia is super easy to counter.

HEHEHE
MY TURRRRRN
DRAAAAAAW

It's more like he lost a chance to become KoG, win the tournament prize money that amounted into the millions and getting the chance to get revenge against Maximillion Pegasus destroyed by a 2-bit duelist like Joey Wheeler.

it's still a childrens card game. no need to shoot somebody over it. besides if he was that good to almost be KoG then he should have no problem winning other tournaments that have prizepools.

i have 8000 gems in duel links, what do I spend it on?

Synchro was fine. XYZ and onwards ruined the game.

Yata-Garasu and Summoned Skull Beatdown.

figure out a deck you want to build first then find out which packs have the cards you need

The only new mechanic that was genuinely shitty was Pendulum. Complete garbage that requires you to build your entire deck around the mechanic if you want to use it effectively. And Pendulum vs non-Pendulum is the worst thing ever. It's like the 2 players are playing completely different games.

Synchro and Xyz were great because you could just throw them into any deck. Every deck became stronger because of them. Link summoning is looking to be okay too.
