Didju rike it?
Gran Turismo Sport
I have to admit I'm having more fun taking photos than I am racing.
is that a real track? because of what i have seen, sport is only on tracks, and i don't like that very much.
It's uglier and plays worse than forza. At least it doesn't have lootboxes though.
There are city courses but scene in OP is for photos only.
is that really in game? literally looks like a photo. Can some body post a video or whatever. Can you only view it from one angle?
The background is a photo. You choose a background, choose one or more cars, position them and the game uses some Jap space magic to merge them together. In some scenes it looks great, others fall into the uncanny valley (pic related).
You can adjust the camera direction slightly but you can't move the camera around the scene.
Neat. I could tell the OP pic was a model.
oh, i see.
but that shouldn't be too hard for them, seeing as how REmake looks amazing to this day and the technology is the same, the lighting system just got better.
You can also set up panning shots, blurring the background to create the appearance of motion.
On an unrelated note I really like the livery editor. The car I'm posting is one I did myself.
literally marmoset toolbag with hdri maps lol
what's the point of having this in game?
No. Forza is better.
It impresses plebs like me, I guess.
Is it worth to get a PS4 just for this game? GT5 was my last turismo game.
Honestly the only person who can decide that a game is worth buying a whole console for is you.
The racing is good, the overall level of polish is good (server instability notwithstanding). There is no true campaign mode. The main draw is the daily competitive races.
The daily races are pretty weird: three per day, each held at twenty minute intervals then repeated each hour. Today there's a kart race, a prototype race and a GT4 race. You get a long term sportsmanship rating which drops when you crash into other cars etc.
The online takes itself pretty seriously but it's still fun.
i'd pay for a full price game just to cruise around all the metropoli in a 1:1 scale
i'd pay double for a VR version
my brother is having a good time with it. he set his controls to motion in the first race to try it out, but the game crashes when you press the options button. 10/10 beta
>qualify in the top 6
>finish 10+ places lower
Driving round a track is so much easier when it isn't filled with retards trying to sodomize your tailpipe.
At least there's time penalties for reckless driving.
Did the sport race on the Tokyo Freeway track today, was racing pretty good, started like 17th and was up to almost the top 10, suddenly went flying into a wall and was knocked down to almost last about a good 10-15 seconds behind everyone. Still finished 15th because all the Huehuelanders who caused the wrecks in the first place got hit with about 30 secs of penalties apiece
That's another thing
>NA players get matched with Brazilians
The penalty system could use some fine tuning. I got shunted by a guy who hadn't heard of braking for corners and not only did I get forced off the track, I copped a time penalty for good measure.
I don't care much about the online component. Will this game still be relatively enjoyable?
Pretty cars looking pretty.
Without online, you're left with arcade mode and three offline modes: driving school (license tests by another name) driving missions and a new mode that splits tracks into sectors and let's you practice each sector.
There's no classic GT campaign. No Sunday cup.
I would say no, it's focused on multiplayer.
it's like modded Skyrim for cars. nobody plays that for the gameplay, unless you count sex as gameplay
man I really fucking dislike it, the car models look good, but the godawful menus, also something about the way the cars control, forza feels better, especially horizon it's even better than the mainline forza
maybe I'm just done with sims
I wish Gran Tursimo and Genki would just have a love child and make a GT x TXR spinoff using Japanese freeways, GT driving, and TXR customization
Console sims get old super fast. Especially if you've played more than a couple on controller. Sim-cade stuff like Forza Horizon or PGR will always be "more fun" on a gamepad
>simulation racing game
when the fuck are we getting a new Burnout or F-Zero?
Thanks, much appreciated.
Gran Turismo is so bad, when will they stop with the super slow steering, it feels like driving a truck
It's harder to turn a car when you going faest
never
fun is not allowed anymore in a racing game
Use an actual racing wheel. They limit you on a controller.
If anything thats complete opposite.
wtf the source photography looks significantly worse than anything I've seen released from them
Remember when GT3 was the pinnacle of graphics when it released?
Remember how hard Polyphony shat the bed with GT5?
Does sport regain some dignity with regard to graphics, or does it really look worse than for a?
Im strangely addicted to this game. That kart racing one is especially fun. Managed to come in first even after getting slammed to 5th place. Wish there was a way to play karts in arcade mode.
Fucking chromatic aberration. Dice put that shit in Battlefront 2 and wasn't even subtle about it. FUCKING REEEEEEEEEE
Then why is there a brake assist in this game?
well you got sport, wipout. pro cars and driveclub as well as the wrc games so if that's enough racing for you do it.
Maybe my eyesight is shit, but where do you see CA in that photo?
