I just started it and am having some trouble. I never understand these stealthy horror things because you have to call enemies to your current location and then move past where they're going to be on there way to find you to trick them. In some situations you just plain have to get caught and run. It is quite scary though, but I'm not sure it's worth doing this same sneaking, running, jump scare for 3 hours. Should I keep going? What do you think of the DLC?

I didn't like the Kidman DLCs. Steath feels lame and I didn't find it scary. The story was dumb. It has some cool set pieces. I like The Executioner stuff, though.

It's okay if you want to know what Kidman was up to during the main game

I don't really like hide and seek horror though

I'm not liking the stealth at all but I I'm only 30 minutes in. Any thing change or will it be crouch and wait, call an enemy, get caught, then sprint to the goal the whole time?
I would feel bad not knowing the whole story but it's not very fun so far.

you get a gun briefly.

The stealth gameplay is basically what you've played but they keep coming up with new gimmicks throughout the game to try to vary it up a little. Some new enemy types, ways to deal with them, etc.

Alright well I'll try to power through then. I am finding it actually scary which hasn't happened to me in a horror game for a while. The voice modulation on the Shade is something that has always unsettled me. I really like its design.

Yeah, it looks real cool.

Just got through chapter 1 of this myself. I keep asking myself "am I having fun?" I deally dunno.

It's not too long so I guess I'll lower through it too.

I thought it was better than the main game in a lot of ways. One of the reasons I'm confident about the sequel.

Story is definitely far superior in the Kidman DLC if you care about the story at all.

The story of the DLC is worth every second.
Assignment + Consequence are damned good from a narrative standpoint and there's an incredible monster that pursues you.
It ties up nearly every loose end of the base game too.
Please see it through to the end.

I'll keep going for sure. I don't know if I'm just bad or what but all of my stealth encounters are me sneaking to a door/keycard, then sprinting to the place to use it, I haven't not been caught yet. if I call enemies to me I can't get out of their fast enough without being seen, and by the time I get away the only way to move to where I need to go fast enough without getting seen is to run, which they hear. I almost feel like it's designed for you to be caught in almost every encounter unless you're taking 5-10 minutes on each.

There was only one section I remember it being hard not to be seen, and it was from the searchlight monster. Every other area pretty sure you can stealth by without being seen.

I was wondering where I'd heard Kidman's voice before. She's Debra from Dexter

Shame they're changing pretty much all voice actors for the second one. Didn't want to fork over the money for Hollywood B-Tier celebrities.

I wanted to play through this before TEW2 but I'm not even gonna bother anymore if it's all hide and seek

On The Shade "boss fight" now in the room where you wait for the elevator. This really sucks. It doesn't matter where you move, the AI knows where you are and will run over there. I hate that it acts like it can't find you/doesn't know where you are but the second you move down three rows of servers and hide behind them the shade will turn and sprint up there to force you to move. I've failed twice now and have to go through 30 seconds of watching it emerge and then have to wait a few minutes for the elevator each time. It's really frustrating and not fun.

>Didn't want to fork over the money for Hollywood B-Tier celebrities.

That's what the voice actors of TEW 1 were though?

Exactly. But they're not re-using any of them. They went with new ones.

Want a tip for the easy win? Run straight to the elevator, then turn back to the entrance and go to the server building on the most left (lower left corner from the elevator). Stay in cover there and watch as she constantly passes by you but doesn't see you.

Why does the shade have nice legs?

Thanks m8 but I beat it on my next try. Just had to run the whole time basically

It's meant to be Kidman from Ruvik's perspective, a sexy pair of legs wielding only a flashlight and shouting "Leslie" a billion times.
