How do you feel now that she's back after 13 years?

Good, I can’t wait for Metroid 5 to finish development for the 3DS some time in 2019.

feels great man

Feels amazing. Samus Returns was everything I wanted in a Metroid 2 remake, they added some new lore that might pay off in a future Metroid game, there aren't any remakes planned right now so Metroid 5 can be a reality, Metroid Prime 4 is coming out on the best Nintendo console since the gamecube and the way 2017 Nintendo are acting right now it's going to be amazing.

Feels great knowing that my worries that the game looked kinda meh during the reveal turned out to be completely unfounded, and that it's actually an amazing game held back primarily by being a remake of Metroid 2, complete with the flaws that brings.

I'm glad that, in a year when GotY will be a battle between Zelda and Mario, Metroid got a really damn good game out as well.

I seriously hope Sakamoto is working on Metroid 5 for the Switch next before he does another Rhythm Heave/WarioWare/Tomadachi Life

It's really nice that a decent amount of older things in general are coming back, I got a new 2D styled Metroid with Prime 4 coming, a new classic-styled 2D Sonic came out, Crash seems to have revived even if those were just remakes & 3D Mario is going back to a sandbox style. It's all very nice to have these things again.

Kinda eh. Why should I have to play games I've already played before? Its just old shit covered in more sprinkles. I want to see new places, not reminiscing on old ventures :0 but i'm just a picky ass nigga.

I don’t know if it will be on the Switch, Nintendo still believe in the portable market.

i'm really glad that samus returns was a good game
i missed the hell out of metroid

With Pokemon moving to Switch, I doubt there will be a new dedicated handheld coming up.

Hard

Doubt it, Nintendo keeps calling 3DS and Switch a different markets. They want to sell the 3DS to children and the Switch to an older audience, stating that both can coexist.

They said the same thing about the Gameboy and DS.

DS was a direct successor to the GBA.
>GBA BC
>taking up the same space just with a touch screen
It was going to replace the GBA regardless. Switch is different compared to that.

I hope the next 2D Metroid is more ambitious, I mean I get why they'd want to be conservative with SR but I still want something that pushes 2D Metroid as far as it can go.

>DS was a direct successor to the GBA.

Not originally it wasn't. Nintendo always claimed it was a third pillar and would co-exist with the Gameboy brand. Only when it took off it became an official replacement, like the Switch will be to the 3DS.

That depends on if they stop selling a small amount of Switches. The other problem here is no 3DS BC and the fact that it’s more difficult to port a 3DS game over a Wii U game.

it's nice compared with other metroid titles (super still towers over eny other entry, though)

But now that the indie space are filling the Metroidvania space with games that push the genre forward, I think SR fails to come out on top of them

i prefer the real thing thanks

then why would you play Fusion, Zero, or Samus Returns, they are all inferior versions of Super that try to copy it but came short

Metroid Prime 4 will feature "sequence breakers", which are unlock tokens you can buy from the eShop in order to unlock upgrades early.
