With the revelation that libraries carry videogames, will you be checking out your local library?
With the revelation that libraries carry videogames, will you be checking out your local library?
If it means having fun isn't hard
No
WAIT WHAT?
what fucking game could you even check out at a library that isn't going to be god-awful normanshit like Uncharted?
if you believe a state-funded institution is going to carry 300 pounds of robot ass like Nier: Automata for public rental then you're out of your mind, there's a reason all the erotic novels are in the back
no
The library is where the homeless people go to look at porn on the computers and jack off
>mfw my library has a 3D printer
The quality is probably abysmal but I'm going to get my $2 figma damn it.
You'd be surprised, anons in the last thread were posting weebshit.
I just looked up the catalog of a random suburb near me, gta 5, witcher 3, nioh, nier
all in stock
damn poor fucks, what's your excuse? get a library card
I did it once to check out Lightning Returns last year. But I’m pretty well off so I don’t rent games from there. It would be shitty if I took a new game and someone less blessed as I am can’t play it for a week.
My library has a good selection though. I mostly use it to play those games I woulda have passed on last gen.
What did I miss?
How old are you? I was getting video games from the library like over a decade ago.
I see what you did there, user.
Its not a revelation you fucking brainlets. Some of us go to the library regularly
I just grab ebooks user.
No. It's too far away and I can pirate all games I need anyway.
>Some of us go to the library regularly
What do you get at the library?
And here I was impressed back in fourth grade when mine had a room with typewriters.
fuckin nerds. i only go to the library to masturbate, like a real fuckin adult. grow up
>Its not a revelation
Well yeah for those 10 people who go to the library.
Hand jobs in the back. It happens more frequently than you think look it up
i get the appeal im just with this guy quiet, especially if you dont have a place of your own or shitty roommates
>Sup Forums doesnt realize that cam girls use the library to cam themselves masturbating
The library is like the old west anons
I've never used a 3D printer, can anyone redpill me on the expected quality?
Youll need sand paper.
a printer that prints in 3d
From homeless fags?
>quiet, especially if you dont have a place of your own or shitty roommates
Makes sense then.
everything looks like cheese.
3D printing is for making prototypes, which then you will make a mold out of, in order to make something of acceptable quality .
A handjob is a handjob user
Back in the PS3/360 days, the library of my suburban hometown had a fantastic selection of video games to check out for weeks at a time. You were just as likely to find obscure shit as the AAA stuff. Whoever was in charge of that shit had primo taste.
Now that I live in a major city though, there’s no hope. The libraries here just started switching over their movie collections from VHS to DVD.
acetone vapour is a better idea than sanding it most of the time
>A handjob is a handjob user
NO
O
>search pornhub
>thousands of girls masturbating at the library
Brb going to library
>my local library use to carry hardcore pornography that you could check out with TV's and VCRs
>This stopped a couple of years ago when a librarian got caught letting children check out the tapes
This leads to my question.
Why?
Is pornography knowledge that should be freely shared?
Are video games, horror movies and chick flicks knowledge that should be shared?
I can't, my local library has been remodeling for 2 years.
A cheap one will let you make interesting lumps and hooks for hanging up your controllers on the side of your coffee table.
An expensive one will let you make Nintendo figures that look kinda accurate so long as you have the program for it.
Good thing I live in based LA County. They tend to have every new DVD and game at my local one.
Granted I’m in the part of town where they only allow whites and Armenians to reside. So we get some decent stuff, but the 360 back catalogue is what I really like. Getting to play obscure shit for free is awesome.
>i have to put effort into post-processing cleanup
Not worth it for a $2 piece of plastic that will probably be really tiny desu
I forgot. Can't believe they have all these 3ds games.
I believe the interesting, obscure games are. I appreciated that my library had them, if only to help have them on record somewhere public
>tfw 3D Dot Game Heroes was never ever returned so I just went out and bought it
I didn't know this, but I live in a small city in the deep south so I doubt our local library even has any.
I would say that a library shouldn't use it's funds from the public to buy porno, Mario or friday the 13th but if it was donated then they should be obliged to let it be free to the public.
>Disgaea 5 Complete at my local library
Brb putting in hold
>ever thinking you were going to get anything of value for 2 bucks
Come on now, user
They only have console games, I can think of better ways to torture myself than buy a console and rent games from a library.
They do? I'm going to go visit mine tomorrow and see if this is true and it better not be full of Sup Forumsirgins
I got into Blazblue because of my library, which in retrospect started my spiral into becoming a weeb.
No I took out a book for a school project like 4 years ago....you can pretty much guess why I can't come back
>Check local library catalog
>All educative, sports and The Sims games
>Only Europa Universalis III and Portal 2 as real games
meh
source?
Mine only have PC games but again
I remember the library near my high school had a video games section 7 years ago, but most of it was just Wii shovelware. It's how I played Arkham Asylum, they had some other games like older generations Blazblues. There wasn't really anything to get too excited over, though it might've gotten better since then.
Libraries are pretty noisy places. Depends on the area I guess. I used to go to use their internet because I didn't have internet at home. Feels good to have internet now.
>work as a helpdesk associate for my college in the library's computer lab
>literally get paid to show people how to use a printer while being a student myself
Most comfy part-time job ever.
just as fucking bad. nothing i couldnt get for cheap or pirate
a well few years ago when i realized i could borrow games and movies i did so and racked up a good fine in late due fees.
coulda bought more vidya than what i borrowed
I was there yesterday. My library doesn't have video games.
Same bro but I have to do way more general IT stuff. Still a great job. I got myself only night shifts and only have to work for about 45 minutes out of a 6 hour shift. I shitpost all night long.
fpbp
one day i woke up, and realized that public libraries had become government-funded Blockbuster video and video game rental houses
Nah, I can afford to buy my own games and play in private.
that anarcho-capitalist feel when 3d printing firearms from your local library
Op, how young are you? Libraries have carried video games for decades.
That depends on your definition of pornography, what kind of porn, and how hardcore we're talking about here
You have to admit it though, that musical episode was amazing and actually got a lot of elementary schoolers back in the 90s going to their library. But back then there was barely quality internet, so, meh.
Blockbuster/Movie Gallery/Hollywood Video shutting down was all planned out by libraries, it had nothing to do with Netflix and Redbox. Stay woke!
Nier isn't an erotic game at all just because that's the only thing you're seeing people post about it.
I have owed like 100 dollars to the library since the 90's. Those fuckers don't forget. Even blockbuster forgot my late fees after a few years
>not going to the library to peruse thru books you might be interested in and then pirating said books using the library's wifi
How do you rack up a $100 debt to a library? ISn't it free to rent out books?
They have late fees
>good fine in late due fees
Just be responsible. You can always go to the library to renew the borrows to have it for another week. Used to renew things all the time and held some dvds for months. They even let you renew it online nowadays.
If you lend a book and don't give it back within a month. Dunno what sort of third world country the user you are replying to lives in, but here you wont be able to borrow any more books if you have an unpaid fee, which is approximately 10 dollars.
t. librarian
Surely you wouldn't run off with a bunch of books and never return, r-right?
You people are almost as bad as those who place books in the wrong order on random shelves seemingly for fun.
This sadly
What a wonderful kind of day!
I wanted to work at a library but you had to have certain qualifications. They're surprisingly strict. I just wanna put books back on the shelves.
There are two homeless persons in my closest library. One is an old woman who is always sleeping in a corner chair, and the other is like you said, a dude always on computer. Neither of them are actually harmful or obstructive though and I don't get why people visibly loathe them.
Homeless dudes in library are cleaner and less smelly than homeless dudes under bridge.
Putting books on shelves is super comfy, scratches my ocd itch in all the right places.
If you end up going to university at some point go for a library course, they have half a year of practical work at a library as part of the curriculum and 9 out of 10 students get offered a part time job after.
>Have never seen a 3D printer except in cartoons
Do they really create something out of nothing? What are their limitations? Seems like magic to me sempai.
>Do they really create something out of nothing?
No, obviously. You fill in a specially made liquid, the printer then use waves of some kind to solidify the liquid into whatever shape you've programmed it to.
I think it's the same principle as using ultra-sound to break apart kidney stones within the body.
What are some examples of practical library work?
basically just plastics
Putting books on shelves, receiving and sending books from and to other libraries, sitting at the desk and helping people, managing all the requests that come through the data system, registering new books and journals, putting old stuff into the archive.
By practical work I mean praxis (?), you work without pay for a few months as part of your course at uni.
They also have anime and movies as well
Can confirm, mine has a pretty good selection of anime movies.
You know, if they dont have games you like, there is nothing stopping you from suggesting games for them to buy.
Just like with books they will always accept suggestions on what to order.
t. works at a library
ok thanks for the reply
y-you too
I'd ask for a sauce as I'm mobileposting on my lunch break
>go to public library
>oh look, there's vidya
>then experience the unique stench of unwashed millenials, unsupervised shithead kids, homeless and """refugees""" permeating the building
Reminder to only go to branches that have AC and decent ventilation for all your vidya purposes.

please use saucenao next time
I donate my collection as I move to non physical media. My library has most SMT games.
Damke schon
I keep forgetting that I can do that if I get on browser
>have to get rid of my games because space & got nagged from home
>gamestop offered me $6 for 30 games
>decided to donate them to town library
>come back because I want to play them again
>they're not there
>turns out that they immediately just resold my donation for not much more prices than gamestop
Never donating anything to library again.

My original copy of Mario Sunshine was secondhand and already kinda fucked up when I bought it, and one day it just wouldn't work anymore. I was looking for a replacement, and by pure chance I found and reserved a copy of it from another library through the online catalog and picked it up at my local one. I swapped the two discs and then came back and warned my librarians that the one the other library sent me was fucked up. I kinda feel bad about it.
NEWFAGS CAN'T TRIFORCE
They changed triforce like around 2015 ish, the original code doesn't work any more.
Wow absolutely frightsgusting
