Going to visit a game publisher's office tomorrow

support of a game i play isn't helping me with my issue, figured id drop by their office see if they can do shit for me. it's rather nearby so figured fuck it let's give it a try. anything i should keep in mind before going there? has anyone here ever tried doing this?

(image just for reference, not actual game i'm talking about)

What is your issue?

Raise your voice and be assertive. Don't be afraid to knock shit off the walls. They fucking hate that.

I accidentally destroyed my Heartstone in World of Warcraft

wow this is such an epic for the win thread kys

When they call security on your ridiculous ass, just lay down on your belly and put your hands behind your head.

I know/hope this is bait, but would anyone REALLY do this?

to make a long story short, support sometimes recovers items players accidentally deleted and in my case they won't. i stopped playing to try and life a healthier life (i have crohn's disease). destroyed my items as a way of knowing i couldn't turn back and was forced to better my health where possible. tides turned and my health has been worse ever since, hoping to be able to play again with the shit i worked for. support isn't helping me with my issue and i figured maybe they would help me out if i explained my situation in person. yes it seems autistic, no i'm not autistic. just in a very shitty situation health wise.

it's not murica, security will at most guide me to their front door and tell me to go away. it's not bait i'm actually doing this.

>security will at most guide me to their front door and tell me to go away
Even if you start throwing a hissy fit and scream and knock all their pictures off the wall, etc?

It's the same here in burgerland, I was just being extreme. After your prior post I can tell you're reasonable, and I hope your condition takes a turn for the better. I have a a relative with Crohn's, and it's awful.

Personally I wouldn't do this, only because I don't really think it would help, but my MMO experience is casual WoW. Even then, I can still imagine wanting to be put back where you left off. So go for it. Just explain everything you explained here, don't be weird, and I hope it works out for you. Maybe they'll make it a PR thing and you'll be in an exploitative Twitter post.

Also
>just in a very shitty situation health wise.
Nice.

You're going to look like a retard going to front desk and shout "game doesn't work, do something!"
Then security escorts you out.

there's absolutely no way i'm doing that. i'm 21, i'm a grow up and i know how to be reasonable. i'm just going there, ask for the people in charge of the game i play and ask them if they can help me out on an ongoing issue i have with the game. they either tell me to fuck off, or hear me out and possibly help me get my issue fixed.

thanks for the kind words. what you said is similar to what i had in mind. i've thought about doing this for longer than just a few days. i was an avid player and known by many players in the community for the gear i had and the famous in game names i used on my characters. i'm going to go for it and see where i'll end up.

>Have expensive car
>Worked hard to be able to afford it
>Break leg in accident
>Well I'm never going to drive again
>Literally torch the car
>Burn both legs by accident during the torching
>Have to amputate both
>Find out I can drive a car without legs
>Go cry about your destroyed car at the hospital
>They can't help you with that
>Only other option is to go cry to the Government about it
>Maybe I'm gonna get it back
>Cry about it on an Anonymous image board first
>I'm not autistic, I swear

luckily some people actually gave a serious answer. obviously i came here expecting nothing else than meme posts like yours however. and you know, this idea is pretty insane, indeed it is. but when you're someone who's been ill for the past 4 years while trying to build a future, you simply stop giving a fuck about what others think is good and bad for you. when there's no one out there to help you with your health issues, when there's no medicine to make it more bearable, nothing. you're just left waiting for some scientist to invent a cure and then not sell it to some company wanting to make several billions profit off of it. in the meantime you apply for jobs that you don't get anyway because you can't promise that you'll be there all the time, and you can't do many things cause of your disability. on top of that you permanently have a shitter full of blood every time you flush, your bowels hurt and you shit your pants every once in a while because it hurts to much. then in the end you decide to play a game you really like because it distracts from reality. i've really got nothing to lose, nothing at all, because i've lost so much already.

Holy shit dude you are so off the rails retarded

Literally nobody at the dev studio would be able or willing to help you.

As you're looking for an item restoration, i'm guessing it's for an MMO of some kind, these require a fairly hefty customer service team - it's incredibly unlikely to be a few people sat at desks in the development office.

A smaller studio will have contracted customer support out to an offsite call center company. A larger studio may well have in-house support but it's very unlikely to be in the same building as the development offices.

Unless you massively luck out and somebody very high up in the company isn't busy, nobody will have the authorization to help you. Also consider that actually helping you sets a dangerous precedent for them that any lunatic with an issue will just show up at their office. Nobody wants that.

thats not how that works

if they are feeling super fucking nice because you seem like some poor harmless loser, someone at HR might talk to you just so you fuck off. otherwise, good luck getting in the door / past the front desk.

funnily enough the QA building i used to work at had some CS office for some publisher, activision or some shit. it was the first room right next to the front desk. it was just an empty room with a single phone and i never saw anyone in there. regardless, its not like they take fucking conferences with the public OP.

they're a small publisher that i'm certain of handles support in-house. i don't want to give too many details because i don't feel others should know what game i'm talking about. they don't develop anything where i'm going, they just publish the game for a specific region and handle the site, forums, customer support and whatever goes with it.

That wasn't a meme post. It was just an analogy on how retarded you gotta be to do something like that just to go "Oh shit, I fucked it up, gonna try to get someone else to fix it for me" a while later.

A friend of mine has the same shitty disease you have and we're playing Final Fantasy XIV together from time to time since it keeps his mind off of that stuff. However, I'm not going to fucking pity him because of it. If he deleted his items and shit just to come back and cry about it later I'd say the same thing to him I'm about to tell you:

You have a bowel disease not a brain disease. Don't be fucking retarded and just live life normally as much as you can. Now, you could argue that one of the symptoms is depression but depression still doesn't cause stupidity. So man the fuck up you little bitch, life dealt you a shit hand. Deal with it.

There's also something wrong with me, physically, which hinders normal life, but I'm just dealing with it. I will not cry about what it is on here though.

Are you seriously talking about warframe?

meant for

do you honestly think you know someones situation entirely based on the fact that he has the same disease a friend of you has? what kind of close minded fucking person are you?

no

If they won't help you out via their established contacts, why do you think showing up in person will help in any way? Looks like they've already made a decision and you think being the creepy weirdo who shows up where they work will help in some way. How do you think this is going to go? "Oh Hi mr user. I see we decided to not restore your item as you confirmed you wanted to delete it, however now you've shown up at my place of employment come on in! We'll sort that item out right now! It's a little known fact that when sweaty neckbeards show up we have to do exactly as they ask. It's a crazy loophole but good on you for finding it!"

The staff will be scared as fuck that some potentially dangerous autist has turned up unhappy with a decision they made. For all they know you're there to start a fucking fire or stab one of them.

No, and I don't care about his situation.
I'm saying that he fucked up and he should fix it himself by getting the items again instead of crying about it to some company in hopes of getting pitied and getting his items back for free.

I was also criticizing him about how retarded you gotta be to delete or destroy something you possibly worked hard for because you're "sure you wouldn't go back to it". Nigga, just stop playing.

Maybe he thinks that seeing his sickly nature in person will change their minds? As someone who works in MMOs, I can tell you a few things.
1) this is a great marketing opportunity for them, if they play it right
2) a lot of the time, the guys working customer service deal with "requests" like this from malicious people trying to abuse the system. It's easy to understand why they'd say no.
3) the chances of it working are actually pretty high, if OP's telling the truth about his condition

He's not the only retard here, looks like.

Do it. Be sure to bring them a gift to show your good intentions. A knife or handgun would be an amazing gift to thank them for their time and hard work. Also make sure you do a few hours of jogging just before you show up so you're all read and out of breath - it'll show how much you want their help. Always remember, if they say no it likely means they didn't hear you properly so JUST START SHOUTING WHAT YOU WANT FROM THEM. This would also be a good time to show them that sick knife or handgun you got for them. Don't take no for an answer. If necessary, get up on a desk to make sure they can hear you correctly and wave the gun or knife to show them how cool it looks in motion.

Godspeed user.

the 2nd point you stated is pretty much why i want to give this a try. sure there's a very good chance it won't work, but it's worth a shot. i'll see where it ends up. if they don't want to help me, all good. i'll leave as they ask and stop trying, simple as that. thanks for your input.

i legitimately laughed at your comment. i don't have a handgun mate, and a kitchen knife won't do a lot either i think. i've thought about bringing my brand new ps4 with me as a gift if they actually help me with their issue. i've seen some office tours of game devs over the year and they usually have a place where they can chill out at. maybe they'll appreciate it.

This.

Also, make a video of it if you can. Or even better, stream it live so the company thinks you are giving them free publicity.
