What's your opinion on this game?
garbage
it's garbage
I bought it thinking it was a PS4 game because of the blue on the spine.
It's been on my backlog for a few months.
Probably the weakest of the series, still serviceable.
If it had decent framerate and better dragon fights it would be great.
I dno, haven't played it, what's your thoughts on it?
Is this the only PS3 game with blue label on the cover?
It's a 8 (minus 2) out of 10 game.
The minus 2 being all the lag and technical issues the game has, the high price of the DLC, the fact that the manga and other spin offs have alot of lore and answers about the game which are not even in English.
>dragon pissing scene
If you love Drakengard you'll be able to forgive its flaws. I could anyway.
Masterpiece with a good soundtrack.
Gameplay looks tedious as all hell ut I'm a big fan of that specific piece of cover art
unplayable
I had more fun with this game than Nier 1. The story, characters, music, and humorous dialogue are appealing and actually excel beyond other games. Gameplay is dull but it's still satisfying to do combos and try new weapons
An absolute masterpiece.
And zero is literally perfect
It has THE best song
youtube.com
Zero is my wife
Which one is it Sup Forums?
I still shudder when i hear it
Three is the best
Zero > one > two > three > four > five
It's garbage.
I love it.
Four is Caim-lite, so her.
>throw in a rhythm game
>fuck with the camera angle
>have the last note/beat be hidden by black out screen
>start all over from the beginning if the player fails even one note
10/10 final boss
deception 4
The only good one.
What the fuck was Sony thinking, fucking retards.
Probably a House idea, like every bad decision they made, like pretending PC isn't competition and allowing exclusives to get PC ports.
One of the games I can't wait to emulate once RPCS3 gets good enough, because the PS3 version is fucking unplayable with its sub 720p resolution, horrible DoF, Blur and Bloom, no Antialiasing and 15 FPS on average.
why do the drakengard games look so different from nier? Aren't they same continuity? Nier and Nier 2 are cool but those games look kinda like shit. I wanna know how they connect though.
The AAA PC market isnt that big and usually only get half the ps4 sales.
Plus its not like sony can get EVERY publisher to be exclusive to them.
Automata steam sales are a gross profit of 40M.
Sony cant cover it for every game.
I only realized just now that her prosthetic is broken in this pic
best song in the whole franchise
yes that's right I prefer this to Weight of the World you faggots, fight me
>nierbabbies
So, there is a very contrived timeline, but DoD1 ends with the apocalypse.
Nier story happens a few thousand years after in the post apocalyptic world. Im not even sure if the game was market as a sequel.
Then Automata happens 9k years in the future. The world ended so many times is ridiculous.
But yeah, Drakengard and Nier play different, they are part of the same franchise, but ultimately different games. Like MGS and MGRR, if you consider the latter canon.
>I wanna know how they connect
just play Drakengard 1 until you get the last Ending
OR
play Nier 1 THEN play Drakengard 1 afterwards
either way you'll understand
Sure, but House was against Bloodborne and allowed shit like Ni No Kuni 2 get ported to PC for no reason.
If PS4 doesn't have actual exclusives, PS5 will sell much much less.
They are paying to keep games from Xbox, who gives a fuck about Xbox at this point, either don't pay anything and let all 3rd party games be multiplat or pay for them to be actual exclusives.
MHW was also a huge mistake, you'd have millions of PC fans being forced to buy a PS4, and i bet Sony already payed tons of cash to block a Switch port.
Dumb decision after dumb decision, House was the worst thing that happened to Sony, second only to the cell.
I dont think you'll get much fighting on this issue. Weight of the world is great, especially the japanese version, but black song is in a whole other level. The fact that you keep hearing the distorted versions during the game while the sisters are separated and get the clean version once they are reunited is great as well
An awful game I enjoyed in spite of all the ways it was awful.
Great OST, Octa best.
>Japanese Version
>user prefers the one with the forced crying in it
Great taste
Are the Drakengard games even enjoyable in this day and age? The first game is looking mighty rough.
>you get hearing the distorted version while the sisters are separared
What? What tracks?
this desu
What a fucking snob. I remember when niggas just enjoyed video games.
10 fps /10
>drakengard
>enjoyable
Oh poor soul
I just think the lyrics fit the music better
It's just a personal observation. Each sister has 2 songs and the clean version from black song.
here's the soundtrack
youtube.com
I remember everyone having two songs, but not about the black song
Then what's the point of playing them
Listen to each one and then listen to black song.
Every sister is singing and dancing to their own part of the song
Obviously 2, though I guess I really just love 2/Cent (mostly just Cent) so I'll just keep Cent in my party actually.
isnt that a guy
worst taro game by far
beloved by women for some ungodly reason
Alternatively, the Last Song is a mix of all previous Intoner songs.
Women has great taste in vidya
They're funny. The gameplay is nothing special and has little variety (especially in 3, at least in 1 you could play as a few other characters every once in a while to mix up ground levels, but in 3 it's just a hack and slash and sometimes you ride a dragon), but it has nice music and the characters and situations they find themselves in are amusing in a way that leaves you confused. Seeing how the story ends up turning, especially in 1, pushes some people through it all.
Because zero and her sisters hit the right spot about women's sexual fantasies, specially weeb girls who are into taro games.
Im currently playing DoD1.
Its ok, better than most musous. If you are into that like i am the game is honestly enjoyable.
You'd think a fucking dragon wouldn't sound so fucking lame
finished last week with an audio guide
it's implied the Grotesque Queen is Zero, right?
Uh, well usually its characters and situations? Yoko Taro is one of the last true odd auteurs left in gaming (and definitely for Square) so the situations and plot implications are what drive people I guess.
Like, in 3 you play Zero, a woman who kills her numerically ordered sisters and take their husbands to fuck. And its canon that Zero fucks all of them, the old dude has the biggest schlong. Every character kind of shows different sexual attributes, male or female, and the symbolism is underlayed to be described as "feminist'. His games are really goofy and postmodern too, whatever that means to you.
idk most of his shit gets expanded on in Japanese only manga and novels, so the games are just kind of the craps westerners get. I bought DoD3 to hope we kept getting shit like Nier Automata (which I haven't played yet..)
They're rough games. Especially one.
And if you wanted a reason to play drakengard 1, "I GET TO UNDERSTAND HOW THE universe connects to Nier!" is the worst reason.
It's way at the end of the game in an alternate ending that requires a lot of grind in a game that isn't trying to be enjoyable to play.
It's trying to be about madness.
Besides, a lot of the inbetween details from how you get to Nier day 1. after Drakengard connection aren't explicitly in the game. So you would play Nier, and then be like "wait how did we get here" and STILL have to read to learn the deal.
So I would just play Nier if you're interested in, and then if you're trying to figure out how it connects to Drakengard, read the drakengard plot summary for the ending that connects to Nier.
Probably, probably no.
Zero is more sexy that her.
DO NOT BULLY
He is a baby
I genuinely enjoyed it and got the plaitnum, but it is an extremely hard game to recommend
Good job missing the point, brainlet
>I bought DoD3 to hope we kept getting shit like Nier Automata (which I haven't played yet..)
What are you waiting for?
What is this from?
Teppu
Given the massive profit of automata, not only we will keep getting those games, but very likely we will get proper translations of side material.
Nearly everything Automata related was translated, except the full novelization.
Has all the side material been translated, yet?
I read the novella that was in the collector edition and the two manga but did not finish the one about the intoners.
There's also a Drakengard 1 retelling in a novella form iirc.
As far as i know, no.
We got only the manga translated
honestly bought Persona 5 around N:A's launch then figured I'd grab it when Nier went on sale sometime. Guess just enough cash bloat to cushion at $50+ hit because I actually wanna buy Taro's games.
Accord is best girl.
>finally realised Caim, Angelus and the Queen travelled to the Branch where the Citadel never appeared on Earth
Not profit, commercial sucess.
I am a little bad with words.
You need to buy it because it has minor online parts that integrate into the story.
Bruh
The citadel is in caim world, was sent from OUR earth
it's alright but the characters are still worse than this madman
That is not fair bro
No one can live up to caim perfection
...
Bummer. I actually started learning japanese because of this game when the localization wasn't announced yet.
Pretty naive to think that I would become fluent enough in the span of a few months.
Since then I've been doing some japanese from time to time but never too intensively and very sporadically since there wasn't much incentive to work on it.
TIme to get on with it, I guess.
The DoD3 citadel is from another world, maybe even Nier's world
Probably some closed loop bullshit.
One theory:
Eventually the Gods and Watchers reach back into Niers world, fuck up the androids and machines, Accord flees to the past, but the presence of and influence of the watchers follow her, setting up DoD3.
The flower did nothing wrong
:/ hm. I never even got around to buying the DoD3 DLC (even though I guess they would flesh the game out a bit) does that mean I have to shill extra money for the better content again?
So we have "our" Earth (similar to our except there are some interferences from God like the Red Eyes Disease appearing during WW2), then Caim/Queen appear, fuck shit up and set up the Nier timeline.
In the faaaar future the androids for some reason send back in time the Cathedral City (apparently loaded with Dragons and Watchers?) to the 856, creating the Cataclysm and the first real "Anomaly", which creates a Branch that becomes the Drakengard timeline.
So when Caim reaches Tokyo he actually goes from his Brach (with the Cathedral City) to the one where the Cathedral City doesnt exist (yet), thus creating the Nier universe, thus creating his "own" Branch
i think
The flower only did one thing right, and that was bringing Zero back to us
>DoD3 DLC
As somebody who bought it all, honestly just watch it on YouTube. It's only good for gold and "speaking with your wallet" about DoD/Nier, which is now less of a demand now that Automata was such a hit. Also it has best girl Gabriella.
Mother of fuck
gabriela and angelus meetup when
I liked it better then Automata
Should I play this first without playing Drakengard 1 before?
Play dod3 watch 1 on YouTube it has not aged well at all.
Would either of these be your first Taro game?
>levels downgraded to linear corridors
>can no longer freely get on the dragon and wreck shit
>combat is stiff as fuck
>framerate at single digits in any action heavy scene
>story is non sense garbage that only gets kinda interesting in the last couple of routes
It makes Drakengard 2 look like a decent alternative which shouldn't be possible
gameplay is really boring but story is cool and weird
and the music is really oppressing
No I've played Nier Automata
What if Accord is a machine instead of an android?.
Just a thought
The artbook states that she's an android tho.
There isn't one. People just want to spam shitty memes and Yoko Taro is so mad and oh so wacky when the actual games are garbage.
I can't really give a good recommendation, then, since I've yet to play Automata and don't know what your expectations might be.
Man, the character designer for dod 3 really did a great job. Where did he end up?
It's significantly flawed, but one of my favourite games ever.
she's an android, one of the merchants at Resistance Camp mention her by name
