Hopefully.

I sure hope so fampai.

Brigador

If this is the overall quality I hope not

End your fucking life.

Ok, I think I'll stick it out with Dick's novels, the original Blade Runner and 90's japanese cyberpunk media, thanks

Yes, please.

WHEN THE FUCK IS CP GUNNA BE RELEASED??

Oh? What's your issue with those games?

edgy tween gets angry hahahahaha

alt-right won't allow it unfortunately

Read Neuromancer, this is what cyberpunk is supposed to be
youtube.com/watch?v=fiaWsgtJrNI

Nobody gives a fuck. RUINER's a masterpiece.

How so?

>what cyberpunk is supposed to be
>genres don't evolve over time

>what cyberpunk is supposed to be

You're already failing at cyberpunk if you think that anything straying from the establishment is bad

>Brigador

Its been a while since a game lore got me hook

The genre's anticapitalist themes are anathema to them, mate. Take Ruiner for instance -

>hosts are people who, sometimes willingly, sometimes unwillingly, sign on to perform labor, receiving a pittance while the labor they perform allows the super rich to live in an alternate reality and experience untold pleasure and even, if they desire, pain without repercussion
>over time, the work crushes their souls and leaves them husks of what they once were

That's as anticapitalist as it gets, really.

All indie shit, wake me up once an actual developer releases a cyberpunk game thanks.

Cringe.

Science fiction as a whole has been about liberal themes for over a century, couple of butthurt redhats aren't going to stop it now

Just 60 more years

Do you even know what cyberpunk is about?
It's not just aesthetic, the whole genre is about the deconstruction of capitalistic societies and subversion of every form of reactionarism

new bladerunner film is explicitly alt-right you brainlet. the fact you think the alt-right are capitalists is even funnier. And to answer OP's question, the real breakthrough will be if there's a good open world cyberpunk game. The genre is so much about atmosphere and exploration and discovery and incidental, quick sidestories. Can't wait for the CDPR game.

You're not giving human greed enough credit. We're on track to becoming megacorp slaves.

>genre largely about anti-corporate themes
>no thanks, I'll just wait for the corporate funded AAA version

Words cannot describe how repulsive are you

It will when the nerds who consumed it all suddenly become reactionaries.

replicants are refugees

your ideology is dead and the establishment has you so neutered they can say "jump" and you say "how high?" when it comes to serving the neoliberal agenda. you're dumb, read a fucking book you subhuman. i've read all yours, you haven't read any of mine.

Sup Forums was shitposting about Trump making cyberpunk real during the election, what are you on about?

If they genuinely believe in redhat ideology then they already weren't paying attention to sci-fi to begin with

>4 mediocre games and a movie
Wow wee

I do love cyberpunk, though.

Well alt-right boogeyman is not a game-maker tho

As long as the game is good, doubt someone will make a rukus about it. Most of the left leaning games were not only preachy, but bad i.e. Mafia 3, Gone Home, Read Only Memories etc

Sorry, not a fan of fantasy

...

nice reddit joke

Why couldn't Sup Forums meme us an actual cyberpunk president?

CYBERPUNK IS GREAT. INTERLINKED

Sure, puppy.

>wanting a microtransaction and loot box-ridden, broken release, oversized mess of an AAA cyberpunk game.
Wew

YOU ARE WAY OFF BASELINE

My bad, my ethnonationalist friend, I forgot you were all devout anarcho-syndicalists.

>a man who openly admits he can't use a computer
>making cyberpunk real
what a load of jabronis

what was her end game?Did she just want The Boss dead? Then why not let you kill him in the first mission? Was it just a "fuck you" to anyone who thought they could use her?

>Not wanting a cyberpunk game with actual scale

Sup Forums is shit board. CELLS

I'm just going off what I saw there. There was a lot of memery surrounding him, retro/synthwave music, and cyberpunk in general. Then there was an anime/touhou faction, Kekistanis and others as well. Trump Generals were a strange place indeed.

Half of this board is "alt-right" you nigger, yet im sure they all still cream their panties every time they play Deus Ex.

dead ideology, no viable way of taking power in a modern post industrial country. and we came from everywhere on the political spectrum economically, but a distrust of corporate power is basically universal.

Sup Forums is a cancerous board CELLS

And when a new Cyberpunk game comes out they'll complain about SJWs ruining the medium. You know it's true.

The alt-right is anti-globalist, anti-elite and anti-multinat. Cyberpunk themes probably have more in common with alt-right ideologies than centrists or "anti-capitalists" (read: neo-commies).

Sheltered coastal bugman schlock is a whole lot different from Deus Ex.

Depends on the game really, most of the games that get memed on are overtly shite and bad. Also cyberpunk also features people destroyed by their shallow degeneracy and big government conspiracies, which those people love. Cyberpunk is political but it has shit that appeals to everyone which is why its so popular.

>cyberpunk themes are more like reactionary ideology than leftist ideology

God almighty I want the world to just end

>reactionary
Right wing is economic liberalization fag.

you're shallow. read.

I get the feeling you don't understand cyberpunk at all, let alone political ideologies.

Nah you're right, cyberpunk is about killing all minorities, crushing leftist workers rights movements, and returning to religion and traditional social mores.

>another top down shooter that's pretty much carried only by visuals
>ironic weebshit trying to be vaporwave
>Actual good film
Can you not put that film with those two garbage games?

Hello, my name is Trick.

I’m a 27 year old decker Living in neo-york (Hacker for you old folks). I stay in my apartment and browse the wired and spend my days perfecting my hacking and playing superior cyberpunk games. (System Shock, Shadowrun SNES version of course, the Blade Runner game)

I train my decking skills every day, my methods can cut clean through the zaibatsu mainframe because I've launched over a thousand bots into the matrix, this is vastly superior to whatever hacking techniques you would have seen in the 20th century. I became a valuable decker in my squad two years ago, and I have been getting better every day.

I speak cyberpunk slang fluently, both from watching Blade Runner more times than I can count and my 90's Japanese cyberpunk media, and I type fluently as well (600 words a minute is easy for me). I know every little secret about the megacorps in the world, and I have secret agents infiltrating them as we speak.

When I get recruited by one of the megacorps, I am moving to Neo-kyo to attend a secret IRC meeting with several bigname hotshots who run the moon colonies. I hope I can create an anti-crack and earn their favour to earn power in their ranks.

I own several suits that glow thanks to neon light technology which I wear around town. I want to get used to wearing them before I move to Neo-kyo so I can fit in easier. I use my cyberpunk slang to speak to my new employees as often as I can, but rarely does anyone manage to respond.

I'll see you in cyberspace fellow decker.

Yep. Because those things don't work out for the good of humanity.

the next big reddit meme, yes. im CYBERPUNK RIIIIIICK!!!

Is there a good cyberpunk mod for GTA IV? I think it's a good base to mod a cyberpunk aesthetic into.

This is what i was hoping for from Rockstar. GTA 2177 or some shit. Instead they went with gay as aids cowboy shit. I don't understand why sci-fi and cyberpunk isn't more popular and used? Is it because it takes more imagination than looking backwards?

I'm impressed actually this is a very well written essay, your support teacher would be proud of you

It took about 4 minutes cause it's a copypasta my man.

>when you're making a cyberpunk prototype but you fear it's going to be too late to be "cool" by the time you finish because Sup Forums will be contrarian about cyberpunk
I'm sad now.

>caring about what's "in"
>caring about what Sup Forums thinks
You were always sad

>cyberpunk is about killing all minorities, crushing leftist workers rights movements, and returning to religion and traditional social mores.

It must be amazing to be able to delude yourself this comprehensively.

Either way, cyberpunk (like punk) was completely born out of reactionary sentiments to sociopoltical events of the late 70s and 80s, specially:
>the rapid expansion of corporate power and influence
>social and economic decay, especially in urban areas.
>Japanese ascension to a top dog position while America collapsed
>Endemic political and corporate propaganda and cover ups
>The rise of the police state in response to the war on drugs
>Massive political corruption and disenfranchisement.

Meanwhile, the alt right is mad about:
>Corporations selling out America to china.
>Social and economic decay throughout the west.
>Massive political corruption.
>MSM propaganda.
>Erosion of rights, especially the first and second amendments.
>etc.

The only real difference between the two is that cyberpunk's answer was "fuck the system", while the alt-right's is "change the system".

I've played Ruiner up to the boss that shoots molotovs and sawblades but took a break after and haven't returned. It feels "alright" but does it get any better?

I'm way more impressed now, 4 minutes to write a copypasta is some sort wizardry for people like you

Im not completely sure, but I think he was sarcastic

I just swapped some words around senpai, but I'm glad you like my work so passive-aggressively, so thanks.

>Either way, cyberpunk (like punk) was completely born out of reactionary sentiments to sociopoltical events of the late 70s and 80s

>punk is reactionary
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reactionary
Just because a word has a root word you recognize don't assume you know it's meaning you fucking dullard.

Reaction = reactionary dduuuuh!! Dood I just wanna kill some crazy ass robots senpai

youtube.com/watch?v=NujlXgBmUoU

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEM

DA DA DUM

So you don't know what punk was either, I take it.

Punkrock was a reaction to the increasingly flamboyant, wankiness of rock, especially prog rock, psychedelic and anything at all related to the hippy movement. Punk rockers wanted to return rock to its raw, unpretentious roots with simple, energetic riffs and rhythms.
Likewise, punk rock culture grew out of a working class rejection of hippy and disco culture, which were considered pretentious and effeminate. It also took on a political element as a reaction to the increasingly authoritarian, anti-working class climates in Britain and America.
Then the money and marxists flowed and it became a competition to see who could be more extreme for the cameras and thus real punk died.

I hoped you learned something today.

Ruiner has been pretty damn good so far. I urge people to support it if you like hard games with actual gameplay. Even someone like me who doesnt normally care about twin stick shooters likes it

>leftists were the punks who joined after the money and edge showed up, not the right wingers

Perfect continuation of the proud far right tradition of rewriting history, keep up the good fucking work Sturmführer.

>another shitty top down shooter
>good
Seriously? Just say you like the art.

It's going to get run into the ground. Remember the furry mascot decade, and the world war 2 era? Let's not forget about the high fantasy era, either.

It's already big. It's going to crash and burn with CP2077.

except that it focuses far more on mobility and its RPG element abilities rather than the shooting itself

the good graphics and art contributes to it being good

>twin-stick

Nah, you're a faggot.

Does brigador count as cyberpunk?
More maps fucking WHEN

Fucking Dead Nation did the same thing years back. Stop eating this shit up.

DURR STOP BUYING GOOD GAMES X GAME DID IT BEFORE STOP FUCKING DOING IT WAAH NEVER SUPPORT GAMES YOU CARE ABOUT EVERYTHING IS SHIIIIIIT

>Ruiner
>Observer
>Vallhalla
>Blade Runner
>Deus Ex

all of those flopped hard financially or are indie low budget so probably not

Don't sperg out because the game you're shilling for is shit man, it's unsightly.

DURR ITS SHIT BECAUSE ITS SHIT STOP SHILLING ANYTHING I DONT LIKE IF ANYONE LIKES SOMETHING I DONT ITS SHILLING

Lets create a cyberpunk server!
