What can you tell me about the Reapers?

Well you cant possibly understand our motivations as we are higher beings!
>game or two later
We are AI designed to kill intelligent beings to prevent them from making AI because that AI would inevitably kill them.
And people think the writer for the 3rd game should take the whole blame..
>every cycle the reapers jump to the citadel, shut down the relay networks, and destroy civilization one system at a time
>ME3
>reapers fuck around attacking various world's spreading out their forces instead of bum rushing the citadel, shutting the networks, and insta-winning
I never understood this.
Those are some dick sucking linps, I tell ya.
But then we couldn't fight for earth, could we?
Um excuse me? Commander Shepard is very srtaight and not for sucking dicks.
>tfw Mass Effect is dead forever
i know it's for the best but still, i've played 6 times through the trilogy, gonna miss my bro Garrus and my Liara forever
>tfw you thought shit couldn't be more gay
You think so?
Give it another 5-10 years. If Bioware is still alive they'll eventually announce a new ME game. Not that this is something to look forward.
Big space squids turning us into space squids
i tell you hwhat
We cleanse. You are the filth.

Didn't Vigil from ME1 being uploaded to the Citadel prevent just this? It was what Sovereign/Saren was trying to do before you stopped him.
best evil aliens
Why do they wear the collectors?
I hear it in his voice
Considering the Reapers built the Citadel, and are billion year old machine gods besides, I think they could fix the problem if they tried
Sovereign sent a signal to the Citadel, whereby the Keepers are being told to activate the relay into dark space and let the rest of the Reapers through. The Prothean scientists changed the Keepers so that the signal wouldn't work on them. After Sovereign realized this he went to Saren and the geth to find a way to activate it manually.
That's the reason why it took them so long to reach the Milky Way. It doesn't explain why they didn't go to the Citadel instead of Earth. The council races wouldn't have been able to stop them and once they control the mass relay network, Shepard and co. wouldn't be able to do a damn thing.
Just wait until telltale gets their hands on it
Ah yes, the "reapers".
Between Dragon Age and Mass Effect which series had it's potential most squandered and disgraced in the end?
Mass Effect. DA stuck to their RPG roots. Mass Effect got turned to Gears of War IN SPACE.
DA was never meant to be a trilogy. DA2 and DAI are shit, but it doesn't matter as much, since DAO is in itself complete and can be enjoyed regardless. With ME1 you have the problem that it has a proper ending for its own story, but not for the overarching threat of the Reapers. So you can't just ignore ME2 and ME3.
Also before anyone tries to argue with ME2 being good: Even if it is, the ME series is additionally tainted by MEA and that evens it out.
ME3 was a shoddy rush job theres nothing to understand
I agree with this
DAO is a complete stand alone experience with a definite conclusion, the closest thing to a sequel hook being preggo Morrigan. Unfortunately Mass Effect had no such luck.
Mass Effect wasn't meant to be a trilogy either. They've admitted that they never had an overarching plot laid out and wrote each game as they came to it.
That's why ME2 is so completely pointless to plot progression
are you sure about that, because there were a few choices you make in ME1 that seemed to imply they would carry over to another game like they planned it out that way. I think the bigger issue was replacing the main writer with a hack.
The biggest decision, deciding who gets to rule the galaxy, doesn't even carry over because the game doesn't save after you make it, which is why Jacob has to ask you about it at the end of the tutorial
If they were planning to make it a trilogy, it was incredibly half assed
You got any source on that? I always heard that they planned a trilogy with the dark energy ending in mind. Also while ME1's ending doesn't hint at a trilogy it was pretty clear that they had at least a sequel in mind.
I bet one the biggest issues was that they talked a big game about choices mattering throughout the trilogy but couldn't actually make that many meaningful permutations with out making the game huge.
So at the end no matter what you do you are reduced to building the random Mars McGuffin and RBG endings.
We can all agree that Kai Leng was the worst character in the entire series, right?
>Nu-Bioware will NEVER go back to making great attractive characters
>putting book characters into the game
>without explaining a thing about them
Superb writing
Do you mean the decision whether you save the council or not? Because this decision definitely has a plot flag. It's the choice between Udina and Anderson as human representative that they overlooked.
Could I get a rundown?
Not dead forever, ea has a skill to remember things(c&c: Generals) to get from coma when they need more money
>bro thane was killed so that piece of shit can be forced in to the game
I don't know if I should laugh or cry, but I doubt it could go worse than what BioWare did. Hopefully Telltale starts upping their game and making choices actually matter so I can be a human supremacist or some such.
>it's the last game, we need a Reaper boss fight or several
>you can't shoot a Reaper it's too big
>then make a small Reaper you CAN shoot at idiot
