what happened to mech games? are there even any being made anymore?
What happened to mech games? are there even any being made anymore?
No one cares about mechs anymore. It's not the 90s.
Oh, so it's finally fucking happening.
This is going to be so lame.
Holy shit they are still doing that?
so the debate of STR vs DEX will finally be settled once and for all
Reminder the fight happened covertly in mid September and the stream won't be live.
Reminder the absolute silence from the nip team indicates the winner, and the fact its taken a month to air means it was probably a shit fight they struggled to make seem interesting.
Because call of duty sells more copies. You have to go with the market trend, not with what you think is fun. Games have turned into a business now, so if people are buying up the shit out of shooters, that's what you make is a shooter. If nobody is making or buying mech games, don't make them
Reminder that they also are just shooting paintballs at eachother and using a scoring system to determine the outcome.
No actual combat will occur.
>paint
It actually looks semi-solid, whatever it is.
They are already done, that is the date for the video stream.
>not with live ammo
Does a man have to build a piloting AI just for something interesting to happen?
oh. still cool i guess
mini robots jewjitsu is were it at
You'd also have to figure out a way to monetise it to the extent that wrecking the bots is financially sustainable and would earn more money than the non-damaging options would overall.
>make two tall tractors and call it a robot fight
>sucker in a million nerds to watch the worlds most expensive tractor pull
>are there even any being made anymore?
Yes, tons of them out there, actually. We had like 4 or 5 AAA titles this Tokyo Game Show as well as droves of AA to indie stuff.
Which cave do you live in?
lmao what a joke
>no SoL about a guy in a mecha doing menial farming/construction labour
>not 4-6 legs
Battletech is going to be the greatest mech game ever made.
>Harmony Gold
REE
Are they shooting each other with bananas?
Vanillaware is making one IIRC
Patlabor is a bit like that, the mechs are used also for everyday work
>that thumbnail
jesus christ captain d
The outcome was always obvious. The yankee bot had two years to be turned into a kuratas-killer, where the japs couldn't change much at all because the american's would cry it isn't fair.
As much as I want Robot Jox to be the future this fight was just pointless.
>because the american's would cry it isn't fair.
>burgers in charge of being mature
