What happened to gaming, Sup Forums?

What happened to gaming, Sup Forums?

And how do we stop it?

Shit image. Modern games still have dlc

gaming is great, I dont buy bad games from bad devs. must suck to be a sheep like yourself

Because the cost of making games skyrocketed but poorfags don't want to pay more than $60 for a game, so the developers had to go full Jew.

>loot box
>content
0/10

You forgot the DLC, pre-order bonuses, store exclusives and paid mods.

This , and a great deal of that cost is graphics.

I've never played a game with loot boxes, or a game with dlc (especially day 1 dlc) that felt necessary in any way. You must have some seriously shit taste in videogames.

It grew up
We don't

>the cost of making games skyrocketed
Because publishers wanted to, it also doesn't help that most of the money goes to marketing.
AAAAAAAA games with billionaire budgets still manage to be worse than games by smaller, experienced teams with modest budgets so obviously they're doing something wrong.

Which is why a bunch of polish cunts with a budget of 10 bottles of vodka and a shack made the best looking game, and a bunch of turk roachlings made the best playing game in the middle of a war, when the super coddled "AAA" devs can't make a decent looking woman with literally millions pouring each day from fools buying overpriced digital crap?
right?

We stop playing multiplayer games

>b-b-but it isn't really necessary
Stage 4: Bargaining

Casuals and normies took over.

>Which is why a bunch of polish cunts with a budget of 10 bottles of vodka and a shack made the best looking game

yeah, that and over 80 million dollars

Good games are still great.

Stop supporting devs that push poor practices. Otherwise, you're the minority crying about majority practices.

And, yes, Shadow of Boredom: Bore of War is a bad game because of these lootboxes and deserves to fail. I certainly hope none of you complaining bought it.

By not being poor

Remember the one that had online play caged off?
How typical for that version to have never caught on. I guess Sup Forums really does love to suck it up to the corporations. Which is really no surprise I guess what with how frequently people defend PS+ and Xbox Live.

No, you fucking retard. Development budgets have skyrocketed. Mario 64 was took a team of 15 people 2 years to make. Now most AAA games have 200-500 people working upwards of 5 years on a game.

The cost has only gone down.

user, we ALL know what companies like Ubisoft and Blizzard will pull the moment they can avoid illegal gambling charges.

>Because the cost of making games skyrocketed
While technically true for AAA games. Let me just break that illusion of yours.

The costs of making games skyrocketed, by choice of the developers and publishers, because the profits skyrocketed even more from doing so.
You can count inflation and things all you want. But the videogames industry has only grown more and more profitable. And since long surpassed all the other industries in profits.

They aren't making less money. They're making more money than ever.

Exactly retard, budgets skyrocketed because the publishers want to.
You still have 15 people teams nowadays doing far better games than Mario 64 (technically speaking), and of course a lot of 1-2 man teams doing smaller but polished experiences which would be impossible to do just a decade ago.
The barrier of entry and cost vs quality of games only decreased, AAA games are fucking huge bloated wasteful monsters that have no real reason to exist.

Unless you cure the masses of retardation, or change laws and regulations, you can't.
