Pure heresy. This game is god tier.

For me, it is basically two things: quest design and world design. The world never actually stops you from going anywhere, but it is designed in a way that you wouldn't go to certain places at certain times - for example, by having stronger enemies. But if you are good, you can actually get anywhere on the map.

Quests are designed in a way that you can work around how to solve them. The first thing you need to do in the game is to get into a town, but the guards won't let you in because you look like a bum. There are about five different ways to get into town, but none of them are actually pointed out to you. The game doesn't hold your hand in any way, it doesn't even give you a map until you buy one (or steal it), and even then it isn't even a HUD object, just a piece of paper.
